1  Economy / Speculation / Re: do we think btc will drop again this year or next year? on: Today at 07:50:36 AM
No one can predict with certainty how the price of Bitcoin will be in the next 2 years, it could increase or decrease.. it's just uncertain. And therefore for people who want to invest their money in Bitcoin need to understand the risks that come with it. They need to understand that Bitcoin investment is more recommended in the long term, such as 1 or 2 cycles, in the hope that in that period of time, extreme volatility that occurs in short cycles will be damped by long-term growth trends.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: selfie required before you can play? on: Today at 07:13:27 AM
I guess it is a procedure not of the gambling platform, but rather of GCash itself, because this is a statement from their website:
Quote
"To keep your GCash wallet secure, we use face verification to make sure only you can access your account. This requires your phone's front camera to be working. If your front camera is broken, you won't be able to use GCash on that device".
Because logically, when you use the casino platform, you have to submit KYC which proves that you are old enough to do gambling. So they do not require additional verification just for you to play, except when you make a withdrawal and they detect suspicious activity, maybe they will ask for additional verification.
3  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Perbedaan lingkungan social media on: Today at 06:32:46 AM
Pertanyaannya.

100% freedom of speech.

4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The negative effect of aviator betting. on: Today at 05:23:31 AM
What do you all think?

Why would it be the Aviator betting game's fault when it is clear that the woman knowingly went into debt just to recover her losses? It was entirely her fault that she could not control herself and did not understand her limits in the face of loss, which led her to ignore the risks and continue playing in the hope of recovering what she had lost. If only she had been able to control herself, she might not be in serious trouble because of it. Therefore, it is entirely her responsibility, and not a result of the negative effects of the Aviator betting game.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi saw today’s Bitcoin, would he call it a failure? on: August 05, 2025, 03:04:27 PM
-snip-

So the question is, do you think Satoshi would be happy with where Bitcoin is now? yes, it’s valuable, but the original goal doesn’t seem fully achieved.

Why isn't he proud of what Bitcoin has achieved? Is it just because more people are making transactions through centralized platforms that it makes him unhappy? Isn't that the inevitable result of mass adoption, where a technology like Bitcoin begins to be widely accepted? It is only natural that the approach to its use becomes more diverse. Moreover, Bitcoin is still decentralized, and there are still enough people who engage in P2P transactions, so the spirit of Satoshi remains relevant to this day. Unless the use of Bitcoin changes completely and the network becomes controlled by a single party, only then would it be reasonable for him to be disappointed with what Bitcoin has become.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does anxiety have any effects on gambling ? on: August 05, 2025, 02:24:46 PM
Are you usually an anxious person? I wonder if being anxious makes you more susceptible to being addicted to gambling or no?
-snip-

Anxious people should not gamble because it is an activity that can increase stress and worsen their overall mental condition. Especially in gambling, there is a very high level of uncertainty and risk of loss, which can cause anxiety to worsen over time in someone who cannot properly control their emotions and thoughts. This may lead to a loss of focus and potentially result in impulsive decisions that harm them in the long run. Therefore, as an anxious person, one needs to stay away from high-risk activities such as gambling, as it could further deteriorate their condition.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 05, 2025, 12:52:23 PM
Yesterday I heard Lewis Hamilton's complaints, or rather more than complaints it was a desperate cry, and he said that the problem was not the car but him, perhaps he realised that he is a driver who is in the decline phase and is no longer capable of competing with the new generation.

It was just his frustration at the time, it wasn't something to be taken seriously. Moreover, he was still quite competitive, it was just that the Ferrari was a mess, and even Charles admitted that it couldn’t be driven. If Ferrari had a car that was more competitive this season, maybe it would be a different story.

But in a new interview, Lewis said he wasn’t considered a failure after a difficult weekend at the Hungaroring. He just needs some time to relax and recharge during the summer break, and maybe he can come back stronger. Let’s hope for the best.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We gamblers are actually one of the biggest reasons why Bitcoin took off. on: August 04, 2025, 08:22:47 AM
I think we can all agree that Bitcoin’s success comes down to adoption, and when people started gambling with Bitcoin, that was adoption in action. So, in a way, we should be proud that we’re part of the reason Bitcoin grew into what it is today.

It makes sense to see how high blockchain transactions were linked to gambling in those years, since the features brought by Bitcoin made it easier for gamblers globally to play, and there were some casinos that accepted Bitcoin with easy registration and no KYC requirements. Moreover, during that time, there were no alternative blockchain networks, and the price of Bitcoin was still relatively cheap, so people did not feel a significant loss when they gambled with 1 or 2 bitcoins. Unlike today, where many gamblers tend to use alternative networks such as USDT or TRX, which are cheaper and faster, rather than using their Bitcoins due to its high value and feel that they will be at a loss when spent it.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Housing is no longer a goal for the next generation on: August 04, 2025, 07:51:32 AM
-snip-

The economic situation has made it difficult to think of building a home.. Talking about how expensive building materials are now is a discouragement

Not only are the prices of building materials becoming more expensive, but the wages of builders are also increasing. For example, in my country, if you want to build a house, you need to pay the builders' wages, and that’s not even including their additional needs, such as snacks, overtime pay, and so on. So it's not surprising that the average person ends up spending a lot just on labor costs alone. Although hiring contractors can be an option, it’s still not affordable for many.

The best solution is still to buy a government-subsidized house, as it is much more affordable. However, the requirements are usually more complicated, and the house is often located far from the city center. So this is a bit of a dilemma for people, whether they want to build a house, but it's quite expensive, or buy a subsidized house that is much cheaper, but comes with complicated requirements and is usually located far from the city.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 04, 2025, 07:24:29 AM
What a boring race. I knew that McLaren would win this race again. Especially when I saw Ferrari's pace drop as early as lap 35, I immediately went to sleep after realizing there was no chance for Ferrari to get on the podium. At this point, it's already clear that other teams are finding it very difficult to catch up with McLaren, and most likely the winners of the WDC and WCC will be McLaren, unless a miracle happens.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin eliminate local banks? on: August 02, 2025, 06:04:32 PM
Bitcoin will not eliminate banks, because the function of Bitcoin itself is to serve as an alternative to the current banking system. Additionally, banks still play an important role in society, such as providing a place for savings, handling local transactions, offering financing, and more. This means there are still many features of banking that cannot be fully replaced by Bitcoin. Governments also do not appear to support the idea of Bitcoin replacing the role of banks, which is why the use of Bitcoin remains limited and is not recognized as a fully legal means of payment in most countries.

13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 02, 2025, 05:29:49 PM
Charles just did something unexpected by securing pole position in this qualifying session. He took pole with a margin of 0.026 seconds ahead of Piastri in P2 and 0.041 seconds ahead of Lando in P3. Even he himself did not realize it at first and did not expect to claim pole position. He managed to deliver a super positive result after a tough qualifying session for Ferrari, where Hamilton could only manage P12. Hopefully, Charles can maintain his performance tomorrow and turn this pole position into a victory for Ferrari. It will be a very difficult challenge, but anything can happen.

14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Got scammed in crypto- What lesson did you learned? on: August 02, 2025, 08:53:15 AM
How I avoid scams?
I keep hearing about crypto scams but not sure what to watch out for. Any tips or red flags I should know? For those who experience crypto scam, what lesson have you learned? Appreciate any advice.

There have been many great tips shared by users above, so I’ll just add one more: do not trust anyone on the internet. Many beginners fall victim to scams because they are drawn to the idea of making quick profits without doing enough research. They are tempted by sweet promises, such as guaranteed daily returns or trading bots offering high profits. Anything that sounds too good to be true should be avoided, because 99% of the time, it is a scam. It is much better to deepen your knowledge and always do your own research (DYOR), so you can avoid falling into these traps.

15  Economy / Economics / Re: Which countries have the highest crypto taxes? on: August 02, 2025, 08:03:39 AM
Crypto is getting more popular each day, with exchanges opening their doors to customers from around the world. I'm aware that there are a few places with zero capital gains tax on crypto (eg: El Salvador and Puerto Rico).

But I'm curious to know which countries have the highest taxes? And do you think there's a chance they will lower them in the future?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

From what I find out from this list https://geekflare.com/crypto/highest-and-lowest-crypto-tax-countries, there are about 16 countries globally that have quite high crypto taxes, around 30% - 50%. Why is it so high because they consider crypto assets to be a form of capital gains or investment gains, which are legally subject to high taxes. Whether or not they will lower the tax in the future depends on their government's policies, and how they view cryptocurrencies. If they felt that it was necessary, they could have lowered the tax. But I doubt it, because most countries are so rare to lower their crypto taxes, on the contrary they are increasing it even more.

But I guess their is still the consequences for this two individuals as they have disappeared and stay quiet.

It was so justified that they kept silent after this case. Although they are innocent, but the gambling industry is notoriously dirty and quite cruel to people who try to take advantage of the system, and in this case maybe they are worried for their own safety so they have gone abroad, or they have been silenced, we just don't know for sure, but hopefully they are still alive.

Quite surprising seeing the Aston Martin in the top

McLaren are just very fast, of course. I’m pretty sure they will sweep P1 and P2 again in this race.

As for Aston Martin, it’s a bit surprising that they managed to finish FP2 in the top 5, but I’m not so sure they can consistently maintain that position. At best, they might only finish in the top 10 during the full race.

As for Ferrari, their results in FP2 were quite good. Most likely, the results in FP3 won’t be much different from what they’ve shown so far. And in the full race, they might be able to secure a spot in the top 5.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Algeria Ban Bitcoin, Users to Face Sanction. on: August 01, 2025, 10:29:56 AM
Algeria has criminalized all crypto-related activities, including mining and trading.
Offenders face prison sentences and heavy fines under the new law.
The legislation aims to protect the financial system and aligns with global anti-money laundering standards.

Even when they ban cryptocurrencies, scams and various financial crimes will still occur in the country, so why do they ban cryptocurrencies? is it true to tackle financial crime or does it cover up their inability to tackle the problem, and make cryptocurrency a scapegoat? but it's funny that while other countries have begun to think about establishing a clear regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies, Algeria has gone so far as to ban it and even impose severe penalties that it just doesn't make sense.
19  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: PPATK Mulai Blokir Rekening, Saatnya Simpan Duit di Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2025, 10:02:44 AM

Gak perlu heran, pemerintah kita memang tiap membuat program selalu ujungnya hanya menyusahkan masyarakat. Begitu kebijakannya diprotes banyak orang, baru kemudian ada satu orang yang datang bak pahlawan kesiangan. Klasik sekali.

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: August 01, 2025, 09:38:03 AM
What do you mean that they hired Ancelotti because they want to win the World Cup? For the Brazilian mentality they take part to the competition in order to win, no matter how bad the team is, the people always expect to win. Ancelotti has nothing to do with that, they hired Ancelotti because, right now, Brazilian managers are quite bad, and so is the team, so they hope that Ancelotti will somehow make a miracle.

I feel that Brazil's problems are also very complex, so Ancelotti becoming the coach of the Brazilian national team may not have such a significant impact. Maybe they can qualify for the World Cup, but beyond that, I doubt they will be able to compete against other big teams. Even against Paraguay, they struggled to score, despite having 74% possession according to the statistics. Not to mention that facing strong European teams will likely be even more difficult. So at this point, it is not just about who is coaching, but more about the basic structure of their game, which is still quite chaotic.
