2  Economy / Computer hardware / 4 Dead(?) GAWminer Furys 8 Gridseeds ***FOR SALE*** on: July 27, 2014, 08:42:21 PM
I have 4 dead GAWminer Furys (Zeusminer Blizzards batch 1) and 8 Dead Gridseeds  (2 are volt modded).

Updated:
6 of the  8 gridseeds do work fine - I plugged them into Minera and ran them individually via rasp pi (both my usb hubs are shot) - I'd still like to sell them.

However, I can't get any of the Blizzards/Furys bathc 1 to show up on Minera directly plugged into rasp pi, but the blue led light does light up and fans run normally -I could just need a new powered USB hub.

Repairs and tinkering are beyond my capabilities, nor do I have the time, or feel like waiting for another USB hub to arrive to further test. Ironically, I was just about to sell them anyway. If you need rasp pi, USB, power, etc. I have all of that as well. I don't expect to get much for these, but definitely a fair offer.

When all of these were running on two different instances of rasp pis I averaged 9+ mh/s on rdddpool, and 10+ mh/s on clevermining.

Who wants them?
Thanks!

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New profit-switching mining pool with nightly bonus payout-- CoinSolver.com on: June 07, 2014, 04:21:31 PM
I recently bought a GAW miners fury asic. It can do about 1.3 MH/s. every time I point it at coinsolver my rejected shares hit 25% to 30%. Other mining sites like clevermining.com I only get about 2%. The Fury is a Clone of the Zeusminer blizzard. Has 6 chips just like the blizzard. What difficulty level should I put it at? I’ve tried a few. None of them change the reject level much.

I too can confirm - I have 4 Furys (Blizzards) pointed as CS, each running 1.33 MH/s and over 3 days my reject shares are between 24-26%..... I'm not sure the reject percentage is accurate on CS, or if its a function of the Furys.

I also average about 2% reject on CleverMining.... Again, this is just what the stats show, so I'm not really sure where the problems are coming from.... Its also worth pointing out that despite rejects @ 2% CM and 24% CS, I do seem to be generating about the same amount of BTC per Mh per Day on CoinSolver and Clevermining.

Edit: The % I mention above are poolside. zenminer AND minera (furys/blizzard and gridseeds) show different reject percentages.

Would it be possible develop an alert from CM when we have hourly spikes in profitability? I ask because leasing a rig for extra hash power would make that lease instantly profitable.

For instance, today -June 3rd- CM had brief but enormous spikes in profitability:
http://www.clevermining.com/profits/24-hours

Hour 13 231% profit over litecoin
Hour 14 301% profit over litecoin

If I had known these spikes were happening in almost real time, I could have leased a rig for an hour, and while I wouldn't have had the full % benefit, I would have made some extra BTC. After the spike was gone / lease was up, I would continue hashing away with only my equipment, business as usual. Would this work or is it too volatile? Is the mining/trading of profitable coin only calculable after all transactions are complete?

Does this make sense to anyone else or am I dreaming about flying unicorns again?  Huh

Makes sense, but it's kind of like predicting the future; because AFAIK those stats are updated once the hour has ended.  You could try and chance it by renting a rig after one hour of crazy profitability hoping it would carry forward, like it did from hours 13-14. Or chance it after a long period of abysmal profitability hoping it rebounds. Pretty much find a Unicorn and you'll be fine.  Wink

Ahhh, I see. Worth me asking though, otherwise I'd think about it all night. Thanks for the reply chadwick...I sent you a PM

And what a great PM it was!  Cheesy

It's kinda like playing roulette.
Thought I'd share

Yes, please share  Grin

i would need to "productionize it" if i were to share (aka license or sell) my mining recommendations and/or software ...

currently it is very specific to my setup and mining hardware, i dont know if i can commit to making it ready for the public right now i have very limited free time and i wouldnt want to release something that im not fully able to support ... but i will see, perhaps if my system holds up it would be worth it to charge a small fee of the mining proceeds for it ... ill re-evaluate the effort that would be needed to make it user friendly and more sutable for the public at large.

sounds good!
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero Project - Third Party HF Mining Board on: June 03, 2014, 12:43:39 AM
I have only been scrypt mining for about 4 months and I've learned quickly, and done well for myself with modest investments, but I think I'm seeing the writing on the wall, and its time for me to mine sha/BTC (sounds backwards right?).

... I've been doing some research, and this project seems unreal... Are my simple calculations completely off base for ROI?

Anyway, not being as tech savvy as, well, probably anyone here - would anyone with the project be willing to put a kit together for me for a modest additional fee? My scrypt gridseeds run cool, and come plug and play, so this is new ground for me (I've only ever cooled rigs with fans, and volt-modding scrypt asics was a big step for me). I was thinking about buying 4 Habaneros, and while I can learn just as I have with scrypt, I'd hate to burn my peppers!

If this post is in the wrong place, or way off topic apologies.
Thank you in advance for your input Smiley

Still looking? I have 5 gridseeds that have no vis. sign, but are not working...... 3 still have fans connected, and fans power on. If you're interested let me know. If not no big deal - they can continue to sit in a box in my basement lol

im the one getting .004 BTC/DAY/MH using my own profitability checking and analysis software.

.004 btc/day per MH??? Really! Sign me up... How can I get in on this prof/analysis software you keep mentioning?

I've been w/ CM for months now, and I'm not unhappy, but always looking for an edge. I constantly search for other profitable pools and CM seems to be consistently better or at least even on weekly/monthly basis.... right now  I have about 10.5 MH/s setup with 3.6+ more MH/s coming in the mail via GAWminer furys...

.004 is a game changer at this point. Share the wealth!  BTCBTCBTCBTC

Because I ordered 2 Furys as separate orders within a week or so of each other I've already received 2 rasp pi controllers (one for each order) ..... I will be interested to see if there will be additional price drops in the future for "Fury Only" packages w/o accessories (that do not come with rasp pi controllers) - I am assuming I don't need a separate controller for each device, but I could be wrong.

Either way no complaints here. Just can't wait for Tuesday!

Hello,

Zenminer is making us custom cases, they just could not make them fast enough for the launch. We had close to 1,000 that needed to be sent out Smiley

They are finishing the last bit of touches on the ui, so they disabled the login for now (as you already know)

New firmware working great, lots of extra power. But if I told what it was, it would not be a surprise now would it be? Smiley

No worries here! I rather have it sooner then later, and a custom case for my pi is definitely not on my priority list  Smiley. Thanks again for all the fast work.
13  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAWMiners.com - NEXT GEN ASIC on: May 24, 2014, 06:16:42 PM
No - its regular clear rasp pi case comes with SD card already in it.... There is a GAW sticker on the bottom, and a login code for zenminer on the side (not including code in these pictures). I did NOT get a tracking # when they were shipped. I actually had no idea what the packages were at first. I'm assuming USPS (?). They were on my doorstep when I got home.

I'm located in Connecticut - everything I received was shipped from Mass in 3 separate boxes. My earliest order was on 5/6/14... I've placed 3 others since then (including re-order for paypal refund). I have 3 Furys en route + 1 Black widow (BW is last order placed last week).

Just wanted to share that I JUST received two controllers (rasp pi) with cables and software from GAW... no miners yet, but a great letter and instructions included.

Going to boot and try and play with software.  I need to wait to get my code activated to log into zenminer.com (zenminer.com still not fully functional yet).... Even though I don't have miners yet, uber excited Smiley
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera] Your next mining dashboard is here. on: May 23, 2014, 09:38:18 PM
My bad, I should enforce the git pull to prevent this kind of problems, now with this you should have a clean upgraded environment:

Code:
cd /var/www/minera
sudo git fetch --all
sudo git reset --hard origin/master
sudo ./upgrade_minera.sh

NOTE: every time you update the system running git commands manually you have to run ./upgrade_minera.sh too, this resets the notification icon while it does every system upgrade needed.

Thanks for feedbacks guys

PS
autotune saved freq seems to be bugged need to investigate

All set michelem. Everything perfect....Thanks for the support Smiley
The update is fantastic! The color coding is excellent to monitor individual miners at a glance. Keep up the good work. I'll be sending you some more BTC as a thank you

General Question:

When I save my autotuned frequencies (which works great!), is there a way to keep my saved frequencies running on startup AND add NEW devices that will be autotuned.... I hate to have all my devices autotuned over again over 6+ hours just to add two more gridseeds. Thanks!

michelem, let me start by saying love minera. been working AWESOME for me. Currently running 12 volt mod gridseeds, and the autotune has worked flawlessly (after giving about 6 hours).

i am currently running 0.1.11 and i have clicked the update several times. it goes to the update screen, countdown, and reloads, but does not install new update. i've powered down raspberrypi, rebooted minera several times, but for whatever reason won't install update. any advice?
