Plug in one card to one of the 16x slots to see if the computer sees it. Now test the other 16x slot with the same card. If both slots work with one video card then most likely it's not a faulty slot on the mobo. Im using:
ASUS Prime Z270-P
6 x MSI RX 580 8GB Hynix memory
64-bit Windows 7
Board has 4x 1x PCIE and 2x 16x PCIE.
If I plug same card in all 1X PCIE it's working. If I plug in two 16x PCIE, computer doesn't recognise the card.
Is it fault 16X PCIE ports ( faulty motherboard) or is some settings in BIOS ?
There is something wrong with both 16X PCIE, beacuse in BIOS under Advanced-PEG Port Configuration option PCIEX16_1 is set to NOT PRESENT !!! I can't change that value, on working motherboard in other rig, this setting is set to x1. |

Im using:

I have problem with Claymore miner. With 3 GPU GTX 1070 8GB everything is OK and stable. When I add 4th GPU GTX 1070 8GB, miner starts to restart itself and giving me error CUDA ERROR 11 - CANNOT WRITE BUFFER FOR DAG. First I thought it's GPU fault and put new one with 2 old one and everthing is OK. Every combination of 3 GPUs is working, except when I add 4th one.
I increased virtual memory to 16GB and checked free disk space (71,6 GB).
I'm running on Windows 7 64-bit, with 4GB memory.
Could be problem in RAM or disk space ?
Please, for solutions, beacuse it's very little about this error on net.
I solved problem by adding 4 GB RAM (now total of 8 GB), but now I added 6th card and the same error occur? So 5+ GPU you need 16 GB of RAM ? Set 16GB minimum and 32GB maximum pagefile? tnx POOP135 it works !!!! So with this setting it's should also with 4GB RAM ? |

You need to update to Windows 10 Creator's Editon for Claymore to work properly in Windows.
? i run claymore cdm on win7 with 5 gpus: 290, 2x470, 460, 1070. no problems at all. i have 8 gb mem vs your 4 however. throw another 4 gb stick in. That's was solution. I added 4gb stick and now it's working with 4 GTX 1070 cards. |

You need to update to Windows 10 Creator's Editon for Claymore to work properly in Windows. Is that 100% solution ? |

I would like to hear your opinion about this cards:
1. EVGA 08G-P4-5173-KR GTX 1070 SC Black Edition ACX 3.0, price 495,70€
2. EVGA GTX 1060 SSC GAMING 6GB GDDR5, ACX 3.0 & LED (06G-P4-6267-KR), price 343€
3. SAPPHIRE RX 570 NITRO+ OC 8GB PCIe, price 300€
You can also sugguest any other card. What's important data on graphics card for ETH ?
Is there any graphics card calculator for ETH mining ?
The 570 is not in stock anymore, if you can find one, then its the obvious choice. You are right 570 are out of stock till December  . My budget is 1100€ for graphics cards. Do I buy 2x1070 or 3x1060? What are hashing speed for both cards ? |

I have more pools. What would U like to know ? Main is antpool.com, second F2pool.com which is dead and 3rd uk1.ghash.io.
I switched the controlers, so settings are going with controller and mistake stays.
I excluded: PSU, controller board, settings.
So both hashing boards??. Freguency was set to 400M.
Which cables do u mean ?

All the settings are OK, I have set them again after RESET to defaults.
Numbers under GetWorks and LocalWork are changing in MINER STATUS. Any ideea?
I have 2 S5, I can try to change controler boards and see what happens.

It was running with no problems for 6 months in climate conditions.

It's the same. I reconnected them in other holes and also in the same, but no result. I think that controler board is faulty.

Yes after few seconds there is beep and red light. And I have to setup again IP and all the settings. In first place in my opinion, there wasn't problem in fan. Beacuse I recall, before changinfg fan it was same situation, like now. No hash. S5 was running for 6 months.
I can try with firmware upgrade again.
What's the number in LOCALWORK it's increasing, but no hash.
What the black button inside S5, near the fan connection ?

I have connected old fan, that was originaly on S5. Everything is the same. The board read the RPM, both red LED lights are OFF and no hashing. I tried also changing PSU, that is working and no resolution, still the same problem. I tried also with reset ( hole in front ), problem stays. How can I do HARD reset with black button ? Is my S5 broken and unusable ?

After getting the wrong fan ( 3,9 A ), I connect fan directly to PSU ( over MOLEX ). Fan is starting OK, but S5, doesn't start to hash and I get red light back on S5. It was turned off completly from power for a week. Is it burned ? See picture below. Everthing seem normal, except red light and no hashing.
Solutions ? Do I buy recommended fan from toptek ?
I wonder if there was any modification to the fan code in the last firmware update, if they're checking for a / minimum RPM. I don't think so though as others are running directly from molex. Do you have a rubbish 3-4 pin fan you could plug in and hold to see if it will start? If not, PM me the same status screenshot but with pool info and I'll check that. I think they did i was about to say plug the stock fan back in , i think some one else said a fan needs to b plugged in now . I don't know that firm ware tends to make all my S5 lose speed over time , I'm waiting either for BFG support to happen which is soon Luke told me or kano to release his update to the s5 which i know will fix all most all the S5 issues . I plug in another motherboard fan, beacuse my stuck fan is broken. The fan is 0,2A and the red light in front dissapear. I noticed that red LED lights on both hashing boards are not ON. Like there no electricity is coming to boards. On working S5, they are both ON. Now I will try reset with hole in front. |

Yup those deltas wont work on the controler, but you can connect them directly to the PSU and have them working 100% rpm which is what you want at the end. And that way if pool goes down or internet goes down your device wont be fried...
Sorry for my question, but how can I connect this fan directly to PSU ? |

What's difference between Delta TFC1212DE-PWM 120mm x 120mm x 38mm and Delta PFC1212DE-PWM ? Difference is in Amp's. TFC has 3,9A and PFC has 4,8A. I connect TFC, beacuse I have made a mistake when ordering. Next fan is working OK, but temperature raises till 80°C and then shutdown. RPM was 0. Then I reboot S5. Now I have RPM displayed but miner is not working ( see picture below ).  Is it dead ? Any solutions ? |
