I think I asked a legitimate question, and your response is to grow up?

First off I think you need to drop this weird ego stroking elitist attitude. You may not intend for your posts to sound that way but I think alot of people do

and it just rubs them wrong way, myself included. It's like if I were to make a thread claiming only smart people can read and type, you're preaching to an

audience that's doing just that.

What you listed as 'talents' are nothing more than a list of things anyone interested in investing into bitcoin mining should take into consideration. Nothing

more. I'd say Ognasty has it more right far as talents go. For example, he'd be the early adopter banking on a payout while you'll sit on the sidelines ragging

on him saying he's an idiot for getting into bitcoins. You'd be the one to jump on the bandwagon when it starts looking viable. This kind of stuff happens all

the time in businesses and guess what, Ognasty profits off people who think like you. It doesn't mean you won't come out ahead, but it certainly doesn't mean

that you're somehow on the inside track of things.

I don't really get the point of this thread. Anyone with half a brain can grasp the concept of supply and demand. Of course they're going down, everyone

who's mining for profit have stopped buying the cards at their current prices.

A lot of people aren't in it entirely for money so I wouldn't be all that surprised if the prices stay where they are for a while longer.

Most of that spike happened because of the media coverage and everyone finding out how much profit there was. Then you had just a huge influx of people dog piling in thinking they'd make a ton of money. Now that the difficulty is up to the point where it's making people second guess whether to stay in the game or buy more hardware, I'd say from here on will be a good indication of whether or not bitcoins will thrive.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Three 5770's vs Two 5830's on: July 10, 2011, 07:41:17 PM
I'd prefer 2 5830's myself. That and I found it less of a headache to deal with two cards when trying to overclock than I did with having 3 in one system, at least in windows. I'm sure under linux it's not an issue.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: What's the *real* reason you ever got into Bitcoins? on: July 10, 2011, 07:32:40 PM
I got in cause I found the whole bitcoin 'experiment' interesting. It's somewhat intriguing to see the growing pains a potential digital currency has to go through. Whether bitcoins actually makes it into the mainstream or not and the debates that go on are pretty entertaining.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MSI Radeon R6850 - Advice on: July 10, 2011, 07:16:06 PM
If your only concern is about having it run while being away from the computer the only worry should be making sure there's adequate cooling.

As long as you keep an eye on temps on the card and adjust its fan speed accordingly there shouldn't be any problems.

If you're more interested in its hash output then as others have said, there are better cards out there.

Hi, been mining for a week and figured I'd finally register.
