yeah it is for greater good of the coin.   Auctioning means confidence. Reason is that we as community thinks that it is cool idea to see how market evaluate NEM after alpha is launched.

Lets come up with some better names.

NFD is good, but I dont like "Next with fair distribution" - that sounds terrible for a name of sovereign currency. Or maybe is just unprecedented.
