1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: July 24, 2016, 07:40:48 PM

Next updates:
- Update ANN: fixed exchanges, wallet downloads, bootstrap
- Update web: see ANN

The ANN shows Bitbi9 as an exchange, but it closed down, and it shows Bter's on the wrong blockchain.I assume you will remove Bitbi9 as an exchange. What status will you give Bter? Is it on the right blockchain yet?

going a bit up again this morning. halving is very close.

$600 held: now is time to see what the price will be on the very first blocks of the 12.5 bitcoin reward era

That's what matters to me, nothing else

Going up or down $70 isn't a big deal now bitcoin's gone above $600. When it was half that price or lower then $70 was a big move, but not any more. The price will probably go back above $670 for the very first blocks of the 12.5 bitcoin reward era, and a few months later the reduced reward will have moved the price higher.

I think price will be down right after the the first 12.5 BTC block is mined due to speculation and market manipulation. Then up again. In some weeks or days, I don't know

Whatever happens we only have a day and a half left to wait to find out. Even if the price gets manipulated I think it will go upwards in in the weeks and months after the start of the 12.5 bitcoin reward era.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 23, 2016, 01:20:56 PM
Got my first set of Lisk today.
Let's see how this goes by! In all high hopes

Now the dumpers have sold their coins for a pittance the price should start to go up. Congratulations, your first set of Lisk should give you a good ROI over the next months. Once the sidechains tech comes out of alpha there will be a massive leap in price.

How could it be that the pump is already over?

People aren't satisfied with this. Miners shouldn't be satisfied with this. This way most people who invested in mining companies are gonna lose hard, they won't allow that, right? The profit ASIC manufactorers made could be invested into bitcoins, the profit mining companies made the last year, could be invested in Bitcoin below a certain price.

Its just a weakhands shakeout. Also a clearing of too much longs. Itīs the healthier possible thing before the real bubble. Or even better, no bubble, just common sense, slow pace correction to 3-5k which is the minimum minimorum real price of one coin.

True price should be around 5-15k at least. Just relax, let things take its place and enjoy the following months

In chart guy terminology there was a double top at $780, and a giant cup and handle chart pattern forming over the last two years. At $780 the right hand side of the cup had formed, and we needed a crash to get the bottom of the handle formed. With that in place the price can rise to the top of the handle and the real bubble's 5-15k at least price.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 23, 2016, 12:50:48 PM
Is bitcoinity malfunctioning? The chart shows a spike on bitstamp down to 1.5 dollars about ten minutes ago, but there were less than 200 Bitcoins dumped to get it down that low. That must be a malfunction, I can't believe anyone could buy a bitcoin for 1.5 dollars

edit

It must be a bitcoinity malfunction because bitstamp's data page shows today's range never went below $540.17

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT::status on: June 23, 2016, 10:15:13 AM
I Don't know where now this stats. but last i'm seen at market this coin going down too deep. Grin

Hi there, so you're one of investors who prefer to buy high. Nice to meet you and welcome Smiley

The best time to buy is when most are at the point of maximum despair. I think we are past that point now but the price is low enough to be a good investment. In a month people will regret not buying in now and  have to pay a much higher price for a stake in nxt 2.0.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Cosmic - ICO HAS STARTED - Hybrid - Space exploration on: June 14, 2016, 09:08:02 PM
What about if you dont wanna buy 100 cosmic? Can you buy say 1, or 5 or 10??? Im not dropping 1 btc on some ico but maybe a couple of dollar to take a casino gamble.

Don't waste a dollar unless the OP explains what he means when he says his coin will be "utilizing all of the latest consumer space technology". There's no such thing as consumer space technology. You can't buy a space rocket or satellite from the supermarket.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FweeCoin [FWEE] [Free FWEE IGO Distributed] Learn to be Fwee ! on: June 14, 2016, 07:44:18 PM
Pay yobit 0.1 bitcoins to get listed there. They most likely won't list it unless you pay them. Bombarding them with emails is unlikely to get it listed.

The image in the OP says this coin is a platform for "utilizing all of the latest consumer space technology".

What does that mean? What special features does this coin have to make it stand out from the others? This seems like it has no difference to hundreds of other coins.
11  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: June 14, 2016, 07:00:46 PM
Has big vern been charged with a crime in his absence yet, or is he only in trouble for not attending court?

Nobody seems sure where he is,although it's rumoured he's in China. If he's been charged with a crime then couldn't the police ask all the airlines for details of any flights big vern took?

Don't all the airlines have to give the government details of all flights taken by anyone because of homeland security rules? Couldn't the government run a search of its database to find out the destination of big vern's last flight. If it was China I'm not sure how cooperative the Chinese government would be in tracking him because it has no extradition treaty with the USA, but at least it would give the police a start at locating him.
12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Email from bitcoingiveaway on: October 13, 2015, 12:34:57 AM
This is scam obviously. It is like a stranger who promises you a $500 by asking you to hand over your ATM card and pin.

It wouldn't cost the scammers anything to send out hundreds of thousands of those emails. They make profits if they get one person out of a hundred thousand to respond to them. It's little different to those email spam adverts that most users ignore. It only needs a tiny number of people to respond to make it worth while for a scammer/advertiser to compose an email and mass mail it.

If we make sure nobody responds to that scam email the scammer might give up because there's no reward for him.
ya but if someone owns bitcoin on blockchain.info they probably know how bitcoin works meaning they have they intellect of not giving random people their money
I don't think so. A lot of newbies go to blockchain.info first and use them as their wallet for some reason. I suspect that most of them don't even know what doing what the email says means.

I made some really dumb mistakes when I first started learning about crypto. I didn't know how a wallet worked so used a scam online wallet to send my first faucet coins to. It happily accepted them, but unfortunately wouldn't let me withdraw them.

Noobs might be suckered by that email scam the same way I was suckered by that scam online wallet. It's easy to forget green you were when you started finding out about crypto.

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin growth going exponential? on: October 12, 2015, 11:31:25 PM
This means nothing just like the number of transactions which is made by Bots  (faucets , gambling websites & exchanges) and people keep losing their passwords & private keys so they logically make another wallet (by ignoring the fact that online wallets are the worst wallets to use) .

Satoshi advised us to use a new address for every transaction if we wanted to remain semi-anonymous. Some blockchain.info users might be creating a new account for every transaction, which would create the illusion of masses of new users signing up each month. The amount of active wallets constantly being reused might give a better indicator of the amount of real blockchain.info users, though that would discount those users attempting to remain anonymous.

obviously.. karpeles is a terrorist who must be waterboarded to reveal his secret key to the 550,000 missing bitcoins. they cannot afford to lose 5% of all bitcoins ever be made just cuz one fat turd decided to pull a scheme. does that makes sense ?? karpeles is causing bitcoins to be unable to become the worlds new reserve currency. they can't kill him. he is holding the bitcoins hostage. he didn't dump the coins as planned.

I'm sure they could get him to talk if they want to. The Japanese prisons aren't as soft as the western ones. Plus he'll be locked up with members of the Japanese Yakuza mafia. If he doesn't tell the authorities where he hid the Bitcoins the Yakuza will soon get him to talk. He'll have a nightmare if he already dumped them because nobody will believe him.

Don't you think Brian Armstrong has a conflict of interest and might make biased predictions considering he is Coinbase CEO and co-founder? There is no chance he will say anything detrimental about Bitcoin because his company relies on it to make profits. You don't bite the hand that feeds you.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looks like we found Globalcoin Dev on: July 24, 2015, 11:16:53 AM

If a newbie dev creates an altcoin thread it's as useless as it gets UNLESS bunch of senior members start posting in it and tell other people "how good it is".

Perfect way to lure people. Create new altcoin, get bunch of hero members to comment and voila! all of a sudden you got people interested in it.

Honestly it's pretty retarded for someone to judge a coin based on the bitcointalk rank of its supporters.

Still Globalcoin is most likely a shitcoin, and like most shitcoins, will have a cycle of pumping and dumping until its inevitable death.

You're right it is retarded but not everone is smart enough to think that...there is a reason why people are buying/selling old user accounts because it's great marketing tool to bring confidence in your investors.

it's very simple. Here are two scams:

Project A - Offering great project that you're very interested in,  newbie dev, supported by hero members.
Project B - Same as project A, newbie dev, supported by newbie accounts.

Which one would you invest in or any investor would invest in?

Keep in mind both are pnd...Project A is just well planned while Project B is not.

it's basic marketing...same reason why companies get famous people to vouch for their product...in return it brings more customers. In this case it brings more investors (most newbies but regardless money is money whether it comes from old investors or new investors). People are more inclined to invest in a coin that's backed up by statements of old members vs new members.

I admit that I have fallen for that trick and brought a coin because hero members recommended it. Straight after I brought in it crashed in price and I was stuck holding the bag. From that moment on I refused to listen to anyone's advice about which coin to buy. It's most newbies who fall for that trick.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ADC] AudioCoin - A Digital Currency For The Music Industry on: June 16, 2015, 02:40:23 PM
Directly below the specifications there is this statement.

Quote
We reserve the right to amend these specifications at any time if it is in the best interests of the coin's sustainability and longevity

Decisions to change the specifications should be put to a community vote, not unilaterally decided by the dev. How can miners or investors have confidence in AudioCoin if the dev can change the specifications to whatever he wants, whenever it suits him?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Initial Distribution of a 100% PoS Coin on: May 30, 2015, 03:59:29 PM
I will care to reclaim my clam once theyre worth something Cheesy

I claimed mine and dumped them as soon as I heard about them, they were worth something then.

Back in the day it seemed like most core bitcoin people were saying any such forked coins they would promptly cash out of.

Even if they skyrocket I will have no regrets as I am not really keen on profiting from sticking poor sods with garbage.

-MarkM-

Any profit is good Profit.

They are worth something now with a strong demand. Just-dice.com uses them.

Hehe not keen on profiting by sticking folks with garbage. Funniest claim I've heard a bitcoiner say in a while Wink <3

I've only got about 4, but I'm keeping them in case they are worth a lot someday. If I sell them now I will only get about $5 for them so I'm hodling.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the situation with Doge on: May 17, 2015, 10:40:42 PM
Inflationary nature isn't really an issue for a coin if you can buy services with it and enough new users and money flowing in. I guess the low number of new users is the problem with doge.

Dogecoin will get real into trouble once one coin cost 0.00000001 BTC because then they will only be able to trade against LTC or NxT. After that they will lose a lot of volume.
This is the only problem with inflation in Bitcoin world.

Cryptsy has opened ripple markets for very low priced coins. One ripple is worth less than one NXT.
