1  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Columbus, OH, anybody? on: March 06, 2014, 12:43:22 AM
I'm in Columbus and it looks pretty dry here for Bitcoin as of yet. I'd like to see if there are any people around here interested, or at least get in touch with Bitcoin locals. Let me know if you have a list of people who are interested, and you can put me on it.

Bump. We need this address book to be more complete.
And mirrored.

True, and there needs to be a way to import/export contact lists (.csv would probably be best), and the subscriptions/address book/blacklist should be merged into one list, with checkboxes (Example: _X_ Subscribe, _X_ Blacklist), and more fields for identification locally. The way it works now is quite cumbersome.

I think that as soon as Bitinstant comes out with its debit card, bitcoins will start a new life as a metacurrency, allowing people to maintain the value of their savings while being able to easily convert into dollars for everyday commerce. This will cause the price of bitcoins to rise as they will become more valued for this purpose. Eventually this may lead to just eliminating the fiat currency as vendors just start accepting bitcoins.
