How much of this coin was premined?

300k but somehow dev had 600k. He also moved it a lot - look first few pages

please learn crypto before posting false claims... NO moving and NO 600k

OK I'm sure we are all sick of these Noob questions, about moving premined. It's not moving its coming back as change. When you receive/premined an input and then later spend from that input you must use all that input. The left over is sent back to you as change.

You own that new wallet address already, you just didn't use it until that moment you got the change back. Ok what I mean is your wallet has a "keypool" inside it and it holds 100 public and private key pairs pre-generated and stored in a queue.

public and private key pairs- meaning you own the private key hidden and only used when you need to send BOOM from that public key (wallet). So you keep that private hidden in your wallet and have the change sent to its public pair.

Ok a very over simple explanation,
You: Hey wallet send out 10 BOOM
Wallet: I will use this 12 BOOM input bc it just minted, we will need a "public and private key pair" from the keypool, to receive the 2 BOOM back.

So there are 600,000 premine coins ?  5.3% premine ?
looks like 300 000 premine to me. How did you see 600 000?

At block 72, the balance is 595001.99999 , correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes your wrong that's a 2 part transaction, not to be rude but please an accusation like this is very serious. I'm not saying your wrong to ask but you should be careful how things are worded.

here we go again!!

Why in the fuck there's a block with 500K in height 72 http://cryptobe.com/address/Aih1qPBHEiK8EjEhs5Wgq7bBx2LKM3irdh

He did say they had given out like a third of the premine in bounties already which could be the 75k

I guess the question is who got the 75K and why?

One of our lead developers that is working on the B2B platform received it and is an important asset to our development team. He sees huge potential in Booms platform and requested compensation not only in the form of a check but also in BOOMS. He is well worth it.

If you are a professional seasoned programmer or a software engineer and would like to become part our booms development team, please do contact us. We are always looking for talent.

I had to find it and repost it!!! It has the word check in it... hahah seeing the word check in a Crypto thread is like seeing pubic hair in a porn now-a-days...  For some reason seeing check makes be feel like it can't be made up... hahah yes I know that is sht Philosophy but thats just my thoughts

I can't wait to see what this Dev team comes up with!! I feel like we are all in for a great surprise!!

Sneak Peak of what we are working on! op updated.

Inspired by CaseBox an open-source framework for developing custom content management solutions and Bitcoin’s decentralized block-chain, we began looking for ways to incorporate this B2B solution in the QT for an innovative decentralized platform business and consumers.  Centralized data storage will be a thing of the past and our contribution to block-chain 2.0 technology will help pave the way for true innovation in the crypto-currency space. Big progress is made by small steps in the right direction.

In the coming days we will release a whitepaper and a detailed development road-map that will illustrate in full detail the direction and conceptual mindset of our hand selected development team. We are calling this feature BoomBox. We have included a video presentation below done by the CaseBox open-source development team and a screenshot.

We feel that the future of cloud based technology does not reside in a centralized solution but in a decentralized network that will secure data and provide true privacy. We plan to fork off of CaseBoxes open-source platform and integrate this concept into the QT on a decentralized network.

Very cool!!! where is the link for the video presentation? I can wait to see more!!

Video link is right below the screenshot on the main op. Thanks for your support!  Smiley

Boom is just getting started! Real developments! Real innovations!

spread the stupid hash... pool mn is 900% oversharing damn it..
go to pool ---> statistics --- blocks... and check the last hour block finding... if its red.. its bad... and current its 165%

Yes while "oversharing" is a bad thing, bc it's guy's renting big rigs and throwing crazy amounts of unneeded shares and taking a lager % of the block reward for those unneeded shares. It still looked off to have almost 90% of the hash and 50% of the blocks, I have looked further and the math works out right, like I said at first it looked off.

The other thing to look with "oversharing" is how far off your "blocks found" number is from your actual rewards, bc the big rented rigs are getting paid to spin there wheels ( unneeded oversharing). My blocks found to blocks paid ratio is crazy low!! 8:1

Oh well.. PoW is coming to a close and I have mined this little gem since 26 mins in to the ninja launch, PoS and Dev progress will bring an increase in price!!

At what block does the PoS stage start?

POW/POS
4 Days of Mining - 96 HOUR POW

11.3 Million Coins
9% Stake

2 questions about the POS component...

1. Does POS only kick in after POW (block 2881)?
2. How long for coins to mature in wallet to generate stake?

1. Looks like it.. https://github.com/Boom-Coin/boomcoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L991
2. Looks like 1hr min age to stake https://github.com/Boom-Coin/boomcoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L42
3. Max coin age set to unlimited https://github.com/Boom-Coin/boomcoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L43

Dev you should throw this on the OP

Something like this
Min stake age: 1 hour, no max age

Also you may want to update OP with Bittrex Thanks

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OC] Orangecoin ★★ POS ★★ Anon Transactions ★★ Masternodes on: June 07, 2014, 06:40:15 PM
Ok, I've been asked "what is a masternode?". I'll try to explain, but I don't have 100% of the concept yet, feel free to correct me where I may be wrong.

To know what a master node is, you have to know what a regular node is. A regular node is a computer that serves as a blockchain dispensary, where you can download the blockchain from and where miners get the info to mine (check transactions). The nodes issue the blocks to us when mining or staking or for other features that issue blocks. Wallets are ledger keepers, Miners are ledger checkers, and Nodes are the issuer of the blocks.

A master node is a permanently selected computer (server?) that stays online and get paid for (a form of) staking. I'm not exactly sure how this works because I have no "hand's on" experience in this department. Master nodes require a certain amount of coin determined by the code and/or dev, to be invested for long periods on time, which I think is the same as a longer staking time like when you can't access your coins when your coins are staking. Master nodes require that you have DDOS protection, you will be targeted for an attack at some point. If the dev's are 'hosting' the Masternodes for a fee, we wouldn't need to worry about if we need equipment or ddos, but then is more centralized. Masternodes are supposed to be a more more decentralized version of the few 'selected' regular nodes, this is how I think the anonymous feature works in respect like what Bitorrent did for Napster.

Masternodes require a little bit of luck to be paid. Master nodes need to be selected to by the miners sending back the info of checking transactions for the masternodes to issue a block. More masternodes, the harder it is to get picked. When your masternode gets picked, that's when you get paid.

Again, I'm sorry if I don't have the concept down to a science yet like how I know the other features of this coin like the back of my hand, and please please please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't like to mis-inform people.

You did a pretty good job explaining, However the masternodes are not paid like stake or PoW. They will receive their cut of the coins just for being there to be used. Meaning the reward payout is evenly divided among the total number of masternodes. With maternodes they just need to be there to be used. The number of masternodes that will exist will be driven by ROI. Meaning if at 1000 MN everyone makes money after cost but at 1001 it is even. Then the group will not go above the amount of MN that makes them nonprofitable any longer.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OC] Orangecoin ★★ POS ★★ Anon Transactions ★★ Masternodes on: June 07, 2014, 06:27:43 PM
Yes this chart was just showing how we came up with the numbers. The reason "E" was said to be a % was because "E" is going to take a % away from the PoS reward.

Yes only 11 months left, we are still working through how to merge the masternode start times. We either start the masternodes 1 month (depending when) behind. Or we add the 100k Orangcoins, the masternodes would have made in the first month to the final amount of coins.

Another thing, this clearly re-arranges the economics of the coin, no matter what scenario. Here are the scenarios.
A: take the MN payouts from the original specs which hurts every investors PoS returns.
B: shorten the time period of PoS minting to, say, 40 years, which the 6 years of minting would be released faster into circulation but everyone still gets what the original specs stated for investors. The actual coins/time period would reflect the MN payout schedule of 2% so it might not even be 6 years, it would be less. 2% of 200 million is 4 million coins, and it isn't enough.
C: add the MN payouts to the total coin cap, for total cap 204 million coins. Still isn't enough... increase cap to 220 million over 46 years and devote the 20 million to the MN

B and C are less detrimental to the investors, and the model might be why price is suffering. 2000 OC is not very much per node and the price would have to rise substantially for the interest earned plus profits to make $5 per month to cover fees. People were buying large amounts to cover the requirements, and now that requirements are so low, ppl are selling large amounts.

Since this affects all OC holders, it should be decided in a vote, not centralized around the 2 devs working on this. The whole point of MN is decentralizing the nodes and anon comes from that. Not trying to start trouble, but I'm here for the community as well.

Also, my numbers are just thrown out there as examples, not based on any calculations.

Afterthought: cutting the 2.5% pos after year 5 down to 1-1.5% has reduced income earned for stakers by 50%. It's 4% for 2% on 20%.

Your 100% correct, you are all stake holders and doing this anyway will change things no matter what. This is part of the reason we spent so much time working through the numbers before posting Proposed numbers. It is also why we decided to post the math behind the numbers rather then just posting a set of numbers. Everything you brought up, we also brought up and more in our many conversations leading up to today. We will revisit evrything you brought up about "re-arranging the economics."

I do need to point out the reason we went with the 2000 OC as it relates to price. We have already said that the higher the amount the more pulled out of circulation, however it has something to do with price as well.

It is really the opposite of what your thought is, I know it was a surprise to me as well. Here lets say the avg. person wanting to start a masternode and they need to go buy the amount of coins to open one. Lets just for an example say they want to spend $400 on that amount.

Using that number lets play out 2 diffrent examples, one with MN req at 10,000 OC and one with 2,000 OC.

10,000 coins for $400 = $0.04/coin
2,000   coins for $400 = $0.20/coin

So to earn the $5/ month fee for the server, at $0.04 = 125 coin and at $0.20 = 25 coin

So with high coin amount req. it lowers the price per coin, increases the amount of coins needed to be paid out and takes more coins out of circulation.

It may take a little time but you must understand that masternodes will raise the price of the coin.

Unfortunately you are probably right, there was a few reasons for a few bigger dumps today. I'm sure a few people saw that masternodes may be a little to tech for them. Which will not be the case once they see the instruction guides I believe. I was also worried about people not aware of the Static IP for multiple Masternodes on 1 server. Then there was some people thinking the req amount would be higher. This was part of why we wanted to do the masternode release in stages. To get people info ASAP and let the not so tech people feel more comfortable with setting one up.

We have to remember that we're almost 50% of the way before the block reward is cut in half. With more ASICS coming out, how long do we think the that will be?  Maybe 3 months?  Then, after the following 25 million, it'll be cut in half again. And, when will that be, maybe 3 months after?  Maybe it'll be 3 or 4 months in total, if more of the newer ASICS come out. I think this is one of those coins where early miners (now) are reaping the rewards. I don't think it'll take the rest of the year to get to the 50% mark. Do we have any stats of daily or weekly coin production? Those are the numbers we should be keeping an eye on.

It gets cut in half every year.  if hashrate goes up 1000 percent so will difficulty to slow the coin down.

Right, All though this post made me stop for a sec and say well I wonder how far past schedule we are. So some quick math had me surprised.

Our genesis block (First block ever) was born in November (2013-11-15) http://184.73.159.72/b/133RV1nfUu

Then came premine blocks blocks 1-128 (2013-12-21)

Real Mining (consistent)             started at block 129 at (2014-01-04 22:42:52)

So Time now (2014-05-27 08:00:56) - (2014-01-04 22:42:52) = mining period (205,038 minutes)

So "Target" 1 min block time and minus the 128 first block

We should at Time Now be at block 204910

Real block Time Now 190786

We are 14124 blocks behind or 9.80833333333333 days behind

SO we as of the moment and mining slower!!!

This can only be because of the High diff left for small hash to mined 1 days worth of blocks (1440) over many days

Sunuser

I like your whole train of thought.....

bitcointalk member/dev of Orangecoin is Orangecoin.. who is currently helping CoffeeCoin correct there wallet issues with the PoS coin generation aspects. Orangecoin the member maybe a good resource to contact.

http://coffeecoinguild.tumblr.com/post/86613861315/wallet-updates-are-underway

The 20% PoS distribution is related to 3/4 of the total distribution is thru PoS (50m PoW, 150m PoS), depending on whats been mined so far with SolarCoin, could be done or something close since there will no longer be a dependence on PoW to maintain wallet syncing.

For the most part it has been cheaper to mine other coins and buy SolarCoin.

Thanks while looking over his wallet code I saw a common over sight as well.. I will let him know right away
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin - PoW reward for solar energy | the GREEN KING of Crypto on: May 26, 2014, 04:55:59 AM
Yes this hash will last as long as the Solarcoin stays profitable, big hash will mine until price drops.

Guys I really feel like we are over looking the fact that once the retarget issue has been addressed, high hash rates will just stay constant. The only reason we see the drop is so they can lower the diff and get even more when they jump back on.

So what does this mean for Solarcoin? My thought is the hash will raise with the price, then dump the price back down to low unprofitable range. Then hash will lower until the price picks back up, and so on...

So this will leave the average miner either mining very little while price is high or mining more while price is low.

Yes I know I just explained the basics of mining that we have all seen many times.

There are only a few things that can be done
- Throw some cash at new ASIC miner
- Buy the coins that will be sold from the ASIC big dogs
- Change algorithm (don't see this one happening)
- Add PoS

My vote is to add PoS

-This will help stop 51% attack (without avg miners having to go buy $1000's in ASIC's)
- every one mines (with open wallet holding coins)
- If you do buy coins from the big ASIC dumps, you will earn coins at a %
- This coin was almost set up for PoS, I mean the Dev projected a 5 year PoW (mining period) from the start With a PoW/PoS hybrid the PoW (mining) can fade away in the 4-5 years and leave the coin to be mined solely on PoS like other coins do now
- Price of the coin will go up (buy and having coins becomes a form of mining)

And the big one in my eyes, BIGGER exchanges will have an incentive to post our coin (they earn the PoS on your coins while they sit on their exchange in their wallet)

Let us look at an example of this PoS motivation and exchange listing

Take Orangecoin

Quote
"What is OrangeCoin?
Orangecoin is a unique combination of POW distribution with POS minting to secure the network. Orangecoin distribution will start on April 27, 2014 with a limited 2 week mining period. After the initial release of 50 million coins, POS interest will be earned at a rate of 20% in the first year, 10% in the second year, 5% in the third year down to a constant 2.5% interest."
https://orangecoins.info

Nothing innovative or special about it at all!! (I will not humor the comparison to Solarcoin bc it's not even close)

But yet lets look at what happens when they approach Cryptsy

 https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/4000276050

Thats right it took just 4 days and 6 post, which started 13 days ago (when writing this post) The PoS coin system was loved and Cryptsy posted it to the vote list https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/

Now I'm sure that if Solarcoin goes PoS it will not be 20% However you can see that exchanges have a large incentive to take PoS coins. Does it suck that they get your PoS yes but thats only if you park large amounts of your coins on there exchange, for long periods of time.

How I plain to help is by writing code...

Here is my contribution so far https://github.com/solarcoin/solarcoin/pull/5
This new code was needed to send and receive Solarcoin with multisig addresses.

The next code post you will see from me will be the code for a PoS fork

I have already spent a little over 63 hrs (haha many ppl can vouch for my disappearance last few days)  on the code for the PoS fork so far, and there is much more to do. I'm only writing this code so it may be considered by the Solarcoin Foundation as an addition to the coin. I do this because I believe in this coin as a chance to, help better the world we live in. Weather or not the code is used I will still support Solarcoin, by mining if I still can or by buying when I can. Ultimately Solarcoin adding PoS will be up to the Solarcoin Foundation, as it should be. I would love nothing more then a fork to x11 PoS/PoW. However this coin has a very stable conservative and well thought out approach to making changes. While this can be upsetting when we live in a world so on demand as we do now. I wouldn't be as onboard with Solarcoin, if it had to fork every week do to insufficient testing or hasty decisions. I have seen many other coins fix unbroken code, to then have to refix what they just broke. I truly believe Solarcoin will out live me, which I could be wrong but out of all the altcoins it has one of the better chances.

When I think of an organization in comparison, dealing with a similar issue (taking time to make sure things are right) I think of https://www.circle.com. On May 16th they came out of  what they called (stealth) well for the ppl not following their hush hush $17 million development fund raising (http://www.coindesk.com/circle-receives-17m-funding-unveils-exchange-wallet-service/) But what I would call, Ok we are now letting you request access to our site. Here is their launch post with nice demonstration video at the bottom,  https://www.circle.com/2014/05/16/circle-update/  So I like many others went on their site and requested an invitation. Also I like many others have not received the invite yet, They must have received many emails to spark a post 5 days later https://www.circle.com/2014/05/21/circle-debut-questions/ They want to slowly let more and more ppl on the site to test things slowly.

So I'm sorry to post such a long post here (guess i needed a longer break from coding then I thought), but here is a $17 million company slowly allowing ppl to get accounts. Something we all look at as a 4 maybe 5 second thing, and they are taking days.

I'm just saying in a pinch the retarget code could be written in bout 4 minutes and implemented with in hours. But the fact that there has been time spent testing and researching shows it wanted to be done right. This is only my thoughts, I have had very little communication only with Justin. I haven't tested or even seen the new retarget code yet. But he told me, he plans to post it soon. Oh I should mention, Please don't ask me to write x11 in to the new fork code bc I will not be. Please don't forget I'm doing this at my own will and not by request. And I think I have read enough to show me that adding x11 or other new algo to it will be a waste of time right now. However if I'm requested to do such from a reputable source I will have no problem. At this point I'm adding PoS with option of PoSV (which could be dropped later to just PoS). So does add PoS take over 60hrs just to write.. No, but each and every line I have added and lines I plain to add are only done after very extensive research. Such as what other coins have used this line of code in any variation, How did it work out from them and has anyone else written it better....

Hey Justin I know your probably busy, so I just went ahead and wrote the new code for the multiSig and I emailed it to you.

rpcrawtransaction.cpp
Now has "redeemScript"
36 lines of code added and 22 lines deleted

bitcoinrpc.cpp
Now has the "createmultisig" rpc command and updated code for the "addmultisigaddress" command
52 lines of code added and 15 lines deleted

*sidenote would you like me to partition the bitcoinrpc.cpp and add rpcwallet.cpp, most coins have gone this way now, I only say this because bitcoinrpc.cpp now has 3,439 lines of code in that file alone. Your call just let me know

If there is any problems with the new code please let me know, at this point I'm going to start writing the PoS fork and I may write a PoSV fork for testing. You can either email me back or post in one of the forums or PM me in one of the forums. Cheers m8

Hey Justin I know you have a lot on your plate already with this retarget issue. However I have started to dive in to the code here a little. The multisig command needs a little tweaking. Multisig is such a great tool (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zIbUSaZBJgU) and I would love to work more to bring features using it's platform over to Solarcoin. Plus this will allow future development on something like https://www.bitgo.com/. Maybe even later down the road adding it to the GUI. I don't know how close you are to finishing the new block chain explorer, But it would be nice to add the ability to view Multisig on the new explorer. Ok lets get to it

Code as is is missing the "createmultisig" rpc command

here is a link when bitcoin add it
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commit/34226be7a8f5bbe1703141d39328ab99becb78c5

Also signrawtransation needs the "redeemScript" argument added to rpcrawtransaction.cpp

Here is a few other coins rpcrawtransaction.cpp

Bitcoin
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/src/rpcrawtransaction.cpp

Dogecoin
https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/blob/master/src/rpcrawtransaction.cpp

Litecoin
https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/blob/master-0.8/src/rpcrawtransaction.cpp

If you could add this It would be great Thank you
