1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is the privatization of Bitcoin - it already happened on: October 13, 2015, 10:47:42 AM
Bitcoin is bigger than these groups but as with any good idea it is going to try by infiltrated by greedy bastards trying to steer it the way they want it for their own financial needs. This is why I have always been against the foundation and it was quite clear anyone with money could buy their way in which is always a bad thing.
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Happiness or truth ? on: September 28, 2015, 08:43:01 PM
Who is they and why can't you have both? I'd rather be happy over anything else any way.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin reach 500 USD again ? on: September 05, 2015, 02:11:34 PM
I didn't vote as I honestly don't know when it will happen but I think it ill get there again eventually but it will be more of a slow growth and could take time. I do think bitcoin will go back to 1k again but this could take a few years maybe even around 5.
4  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] Rollin.io Signature & Avatar Campaign - NEW RULES Aug. 12th on: September 05, 2015, 02:04:24 PM
Like Pips said, chances are this campaign won't resume again, but that's not 100% certain either. If the Rollin admin decides he wants to try the campaign again, then you might see it start up sometime in the future.

Maybe they will notice a drop in new users and start it up again. I think signature campaigns are good at getting and keeping your brand out there but maybe they should lower payments or the amount of users that can take part. Some of them seem unnecessarily big and it's no surprise they don't think it's cost effective.
5  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: DirectBet Soccer Prediction Game *** Win Free Bets ! *** Free to Enter ! on: August 23, 2015, 03:59:35 PM
Athletic Bilbao 3 v 0 Barcelona

Will be watching this game.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this price scaring anyone ? on: August 23, 2015, 03:57:05 PM
Price doesn't scare me. I'm used to this behavior now. I'm sure this wont be the last predicament that causes a fall in value.

As soon as developers and people at respected positions and followers in our little bitcoin word started bashing at each other with those xt vs core deathmatches,
it was obvious that the price will decline.
There is no reason to fear, because now is the time to cash in on the drop, sell and rebuy lower. The downfall will stop as
soon as the dust settles, and prices will recover, so in the longrun everyone is safe, until then, like i said, cash in on the fear and confusion.

The price will fall whenever their is uncertainty or bad news or eve rumors or news.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto renders UK and all Non Crypto Banks to Second Class monetary status on: August 06, 2015, 10:43:42 AM
It's not going to render them second class because regardless people are still going to to use banks because they see no need or have any desire to use bitcoin. For most people they just don't really seem to care about how the monetary system works and see it as working fine so why change it (even though it isn't fine and is based on debt and printing money on a whim).
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it true? Bitcoin Isn't a Currency but a Technology? on: August 06, 2015, 10:41:22 AM
It's both. Obviously it's a technology but it's also a currency but one cannot exist without the other. States might not want to call it a currency because they can't issue or control it, and perhaps it isn't a currency by the old and now archaic definition, but if people are using it as a currency (which they are) then it is one in my opinion.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: July 21, 2015, 06:11:00 PM
Not buying enough. I bought in before $100 and saw it go to over 1k, but I guess it's not too bad given the price now but still could have made a nice sum.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: CAN YOU PROFER A SOLUTION? on: July 21, 2015, 06:07:03 PM
You haven't been given unjust negatives. From what it looks like you're trying to sell methods that obtain money/goods by fraud. You seem to openly admit it is blackhat which is bad/illegal. Don't offer to provide illegal methods to people and you wont get negative feedback.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: July 15, 2015, 01:51:45 PM
It seems the price fell down again, and the reason could be that greece is assumedly solved.

This is of course disappointing in the short term, but the fact that buyers are considering these large scale money problems is promising, it is this kind of problem bitcoin is about. So, looking good, anyway.

The price spike probably had little to do with Greeks actually buying bitcoin. It was far more likely just bitcoin speculators getting excited and buying coins thinking bitcoin was going to sky rocket, and it did for a little while, but as usual quickly goes back to where it came from.
12  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: July 03, 2015, 12:22:19 PM
Which campaigns are more profitable for the Full Members? I was used coinomat, secondstrade and now i use bitmixer.io.

Work it out from the Op. What is more profitable depends on how many posts you make.

Which is campaign pay best for Full Members? Coinomat pay 0.0004, bitmixer pay 0.0007.
I mean this.
I need check all campaigns on the op and find best rates for Full Members.

Umm... are you actually asking this? One pays more than the other so which do you think is best? Bitmixer is by far better but if you make more than 50 posts a week then maybe another is.
13  Economy / Services / Re: DA DICE Signature Campaign 2.O - Pay Per Post & Fixed Campaign Thread on: June 12, 2015, 08:50:07 AM
Are slots still available for the pay per post campaign? Also, do you get paid at the higher rate if you change ranks during the term? Think I'll probably become a Senior once I've got 240 posts. Thanks.
14  Economy / Services / Re: YoBit.Net - Signature Campaign - Realtime Payouts (daily) on: May 28, 2015, 11:20:48 AM
Great! A signature campaign i can join (as a newbie).
Thanks!

Except you can't. Newbies aren't allowed on this campaign any more. See the posts above. I think it's a wise decision personally.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: May 28, 2015, 11:19:10 AM
I voted for Dorian.
He is the only one in that list that likes privacy and "kept away" from anything called digital currency.

All the rest had something to do with some kind of digital currency and they weren't discreet about it.
So I have no reason to believe it was any of them.

He likes privacy so much that he releases bitcoin under his own name? Makes perfect sense /sarcasm. If there's one person that the creator of bitcoin isn't it's Dorian.

The hacker who recently attacked bitcointalk got the IP address each user registered through, and each user's last used IP address. He probably got two IP addresses used by Satoshi. Could those addresses reveal who Satoshi is if neither of them was a tor IP, or a VPN IP?

I very much doubt satoshi was dumb enough to leave traces of his IP behind especially when he went to all this trouble to stay anon. Besides, I think I read somewhere that theymos locked the account and removed any traces of his activity to stop people trying to hack into it for that reason.

Yeap, apart from that nobody is allowed to register an account name with the name Satoshi in it.
Try it and you will see I am right.
(Yes I tried it too  Wink )

What does that have to do with anything I said? And two or three donators changed their name to satoshi the other day. Not sure how they did it, though.

Well, you did mention that Theymos went through several precautional steps to ensure that satoshis account and name doesn't get tampered with.
I just said that he also went through the trouble of not allowing anyone to register using the founders name - Satoshi.

Does that not sound like relevant to you?  Roll Eyes

Not really. You said 'apart from' which doesn't make sense unless you are disagreeing with something I said.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: May 28, 2015, 10:20:18 AM
Actually, i'am against high(er) income tax. in contrary, i' am agree with libertarians which say income should be completely tax free. But in my opinion, there should be a higher tax for gains on stocks larger than, let's say, 1 mln. The most rich people had worked hard to get rich but then they get richer just for letting there money work.

Some countries or states don't have any income tax at all and rely on sales taxes. I think this is a much fairer system and doesn't penalise anyone who has worked hard for their money. Luxury goods should then have a very high tax whereas basic food and health staples should have no tax and then intermediary stuff other than the basics has a middle tax rate.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ross Ulbricht Jailtime Poll on: May 28, 2015, 10:04:05 AM
Was he found guilty of facilitating murder for hire and people were actually killed?

The murder thing was never raised or charged. As far as I can remember one 'murder' was supposedly staged by law enforcement. Others were paid for but the police never found any evidence or trace of anything actually happening. It's rather easier to accept a load of money and pretend to kill someone than actually do it.

There were no actual murders because DPR paid for the hits but the 'hitmen' were undercover cops who then staged the photos of the murders to prove to DPR they did it. However, those same cops were also corrupt officers so the charges likely wont stick or be dropped but this doesn't change the fact that DPR ordered the hits and was seemingly ok with it once they'd happened.

He probably thought he was invulnerable like everyone else who gets caught. It does boggle the mind a bit. He should've done a runner a long, long time before.

I think you hit the nail on the head. He was way too cocky in his own cleverness. I mean reading the Wired article of the FBI agent's account of events shows he was over confident. On the day of the arrest the agent realized too late he was walking right past Ross looking like a cop, carrying a laptop, and Ross didn't even notice him. I mean, come on.

I still think the feds chose to bust his ass cause Ross was turning into a greedy pig upping the vendor fees yet again. lol

I picked 30... it maybe more than that though.

I imagine they will appeal it.
I'm sure they wont appeal, he has given up on fighting, he wrote a letter to the judge asking for as little time as possible

Of course he will appeal. How has he given up fighting? The apology is the only thing he can do before his sentencing to try reduce the amount of time he gets. The appeal then comes after.
19  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: May 28, 2015, 09:50:56 AM
even I was curious to know about this.
and I would like to know that who might be interested in buying accounts and where can I find people to sell account.

There are plenty of people buying and selling them over in the Digital Goods section. One guy is wanting to buy accounts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1068000.0;topicseen

People wont buy low-level accounts like yours though so you'll need to achieve a higher rank.

Hopeful crowd ... It was sad to see the man pleading. Makes me think though that that's the likely outcome. Sadly.

It's his last option. Anyone would swallow their pride and do it if they were in his situation. He's doing what he can to save himself life in prison or at least shave some of his jail time off - not sure how effective it will be though.
