5  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: August 20, 2015, 11:02:00 AM
I see the argument in never selling your coins and just waiting to use them to buy things but not everyone has that much faith or can afford to hold onto them for years speculatively.

now I really regret not selling my bitcoin, and now the price dropped to $237 before $256
im big loss  Angry

what does it mean term "big loss" in your small world. at 100BTC it is "loss" of 1900USD which is literally nothing and honestly, I really don't expect, that you have more than 100BTC...

so hold your mouth and bitcoin now, it is the best advice ever.

most people here don't even have a single bitcoin. so it's safe to assume that he doesn't have more than 100btc. him wearing a paid signature confirms this even more.

How do you know how many bitcoins every person has? There are very likely some people who have over 100 bitcoins but still have a sig add. Even if I had 100 bitcoins I would still earn from signature because why turn down free coins? Its still the best and easiest way to earn bitcoins after all.

Every time you spend money write it down. Easier to keep track of your expenses if you see them on paper.
Once you know that amount and what you're using it on, you can make informed decisions as to where you can reduce your spending in order to save that money instead.

yes, a budget that you put down on paper/spreadsheet will probably show you some expenses you never really thought of, and its a good idea to add EVERYTHING, even small monthly expenses like $8/month for netflix should be on there, if you dont account for that stuff you're only hurting yourself

Things like netflix and such are the stuff that people should be getting rid of. Paying for TV isn't needed at all as you can stream or download pretty much everything you want from alternative sources. Getting rid of non essentials even if it's just a little a month all adds up and this a is a great way to save.
Well as football fan, I couldnt really enjoy the football match by streaming line or downloading the whole match, because I like watch the live match on TV. Sometimes the saving tips cant working to people especially when it comes to their hobby.

Huh Stream it live for free on your tv or computer. Or go to your local pub or sports bar and watch it for free. There are always ways you can save money and in this particular instance you can save 100% and get it for free.

The only money I save is through buying Bitcoin I've personally never had so much money at any given time in my savings.

I think that has happened because you have not made any other external use of your btc by investing it into something, gambling, etc. You're a hodler and you will not let go until it is a very very big market. That is a good thing but I advise you to play a little with your bitcoins and maybe invest them into something you think has a future, or better yet gamble with the coins you think you can afford to lose. Sometimes you will comeback with lot more you think you were ready to let go.

Suggesting someone to gamble with their money / BTC in order to save money is the worst and funniest thing I've read this week.. Overal, you loose money with gambling. Yes, there's a chance that you win money, but - in the end - there is always a bigger chance that you loose money (as the casino / dice website etc has an house edge in order to be profitable).

Investing might be a good advise - as long as you invest well and in the right project. That's very hard too..

But investing is also a gamble is it not? You can possibly lose it all or make profit... or recoup your money. People should be weary of investments just as much as they should with gambling as there is no guranteed winners in either option.

Most people will never be responsible with money. They don't understand it, and certainly don't respect it. That is why wealth flows from the irresponsible many to the responsible few. And that is how it should be.

Not entirely true. The richest 1% in the world are just greedy banksters and swallow up everything for themselves by explotiing the poor and those who lend money from them. Many people live in poverty throughout the world without any hope of changing their life and that's not always their fault.
12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: July 15, 2015, 02:09:42 PM
If its free how will they pay for their servers and any other cost

How do torrents work? Everyone hosts and runs the software themselves so no need for a central authority. Maybe they could implement adds or something but doubt it since it's meant to be decentralized. They could also just accept donations to further development but it's already got a million dollars in funding I think.

17  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Would you guys be interested in bitcointalk Lottery? on: May 15, 2015, 10:56:35 AM
I would be more interested in a raffle type drawing, where a winner is chosen each time.

People try raffles from time to time but nobody ever seems to participate in them.

There are some users here that already started that kind of lottery with and even used a reputable escrow but it didnt went well, only few players likes lottery

Yup. It's not really worth the time or effort to do these. There's just never any demand so they die on release. I'd try something else because you're almost certainly going to be wasting time doing a lottery or raffle.
18  Economy / Services / Re: Small test sig/Avatar campaign for SQL 16th every month 0.01 on: May 15, 2015, 10:53:04 AM
So there's no minimum posts? I think if there isn't a lot of people will just wear the sig/avatar and not post. Maybe consider doing just an avatar campaign that way members can join other signature that pay a decent amount whilst still promoting your business. I'd be interested in an avatar if you wanted to just do that.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Tax & Hoarded / Hodl Coins on: May 15, 2015, 10:44:00 AM
Generally, you should get tax advice from a qualified professional, but...
At this time, many "qualified professionals" don't know anything about BTC. Also, the laws are not always clear, yet.
Good luck.

This is exactly it. If you want my advice don't take the advice of people on here who don't really know what they're talking about. The laws governing taxes vary wildly from country to country and when you throw in bitcoin in complicates it even more as its such a new tech there usually arent any or many laws or regulations governing its use. If you want to use it to try avoiding taxes they you'll very likely open yourself up for trouble at a later date so be very careful and get some proper advice if you're seriously considering using bitcoin.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: May 08, 2015, 11:34:22 AM
Saving is all about discipline. It's actually very easy to save once you set your mind to it but people often take comfort in material things and if they don't spend they feel like they don't have. You can also save money by budgeting and instead of going out every weekend and buying over price drinks go out once or twice a month and do if you must drink or party do it at home of friends where you can save money by buying alcohol from the store.
