1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins | Multi-Pool |More Features Coming on: May 29, 2014, 02:48:46 PM
So this is rather odd, checking the top 100 wallets my wallet claims to have held and transferred out far more coins than I've come in contact with. The balance for that wallet is correct, but volume in and out isn't. Anyone else have that going on?

I think the balance goes in/out every time it stakes.
And when sending, it often takes a full wallet and gives the remainder as "change"..

That's just the mechanics behind transactions and it doesn't really matter for practical purposes, but it makes it impossible to read a "Quicken" type of cash-flow from the blockchain. Better to make that in your own spreadsheet.  Wink

Then the question is, is this case of security through obscurity intended or a fortunate byproduct?
wouldnt call it fortunate, but I assume it's not intentional (why even bother having a rich list if it's broken?)

Although that's just me

(Edit: "disappointing." I didn't mean that anyone had to fix this, I just felt like it was a let down. Nothing personal to the dev, just me)

Due to the low supply of the coin , there are some changes to minting

Coins less than 0.3 syncs won't get stake at all
coins that are 0.3 Sync will start staking after 3 days.
1 Sync coins will start staking after 1 day and bigger ones a bit sooner, up to 6 hours

let me know if your coins falls under this rules and if you are able or unable to stake

I think people totally mis read this earlier and it is what caused the drop in price.  I think MsCollec was trying to get info for rectifying staking issues and has not actually said what the final parameters are or wht the plans are in the future but it sure did cause alot of fud and panic, LOL.
it looks kinda halfway between saying "this is what's happening" and "What's going to happen". In any case, it's basically $30 to stake, which is kinda disappointing

I fail at life and school.

Just kidding, I don't earn money from that.

(I've got 3.2 GPA but according to my high standards, not getting into a UC is failure :p)

I hope to get a job by summer, though. Not likely, since I live in a residential area and I can't drive.

How old are you? Im 16 lol... I already have a job (since I was 15)... I work at goodwill xD Not the most gainful employment but hey it pays more than minimum wage!

I'm 17, about ready to start applying to colleges in the fall.

Well it's nice to know I'm not the 5 year old at the drinking party :p

Haha yay a fellow teen xD how long have you been into bitcoins? I got into them when I was only 13!

lol, I'm not into Bitcoin exactly, as I am not exactly ready to give up 14 gigs of space in my hard drive for one thing :p (I have plenty of space, it's just that I'm neurotic about hard drive usage)

But I've been into Litecoin, Scrypt, mining, etc. since last December when someone on imgur (I know, I'm lame but it's getting better right?) was like "oh yeah dogecoin is totally a real thing!" and one thing led to another and I'm here posting :p

frankly 0.3 is a lot for 1000 total Sad

well it's disappointing that my 0.004 won't get any love :p

I hope the drastic price drop fixes itself (if I remember, it's because somebody bought like 50% of the coins, right?) and to that man who bought 300: you're going to lose money on this no matter what, because you having half the coins that will ever exist will drop the confidence so much it's going to hover around 0.18. So I say, get off while you can :p

BTC

I wasn't trolling, if you want to know the truth. I'm in full support of this thing, and I have every interest for it to do well (well, if 60 cents turning into $10 is worth anything to you).
So sorry if I was misinformed, I'll try to research next time I make a statement.

restatement: if you're spreading FUD, die. Or at least do something productive rather than destroying this corner of the economy.

what happened to the price ?

what caused this ?

Don't worry, this is normal market reaction!

I seriously doubt anyone here could muster up $25k to donate :p

Could someone enlighten me on the time limit? Is it going to shrink as I post more, or do I have to wait 6 minutes between each post for the rest of my time here? Because that's annoying Sad

The question is - can you politely correct someone's spelling without being thought of as a troll?

I believe the answer to that question is no. I have tried in the past and failed many times. I am a grammar nazi as well, but NO! I cant correct people's grammar!

It's been said, "dont be a dick." :p

I think it's based on the context. If they accidentally missed an apostrophe and used "its" instead of "it's," mayyyyybe you should just let it slide.

But if thery're like mahsing on a kedsyp[board it's probably fine to correct them even if they get pissy

oh my god, what the hell happened overnight lol

hope the price recovers :p

as for above, try deleting everything except for wallet.dat and try again?
But before that make sure to upgrade to the most recent version in the OP

and me, it's still not staking, it's been saying "not mature" for ages now.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins only | NOW ON MINTPAL on: May 27, 2014, 03:41:51 AM
Okay I'm sorry for asking again.

I've unlocked the wallet and waited for the full 6 hours, but it's still saying that I don't have mature coins.

Can you put the cursor over the check marks on the left side and list how many confirmations your top few transactions have.

most recent input, 227
most recent output, 115
oldest, 2879

(what you don't trust me to post good things less than 360 seconds apart? lol)

If it's going to be memory in a few weeks, all I have to say is that was a good 40 cents ruined ;p

seriously though, guys, this is an experiment that happens to be worth relatively a lot, not a stock market tool

You are just a little bitch, now go away

something I wish I had the balls to say to 70% of the people here :p
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| Mandatory Update - HARD FORK AT 8210 on: May 26, 2014, 03:30:50 AM
I transferred in more Sync from mintpal and for most of the day my coins have been "immature". They started staking again about 10 minutes ago on their own.

Your wallet needs to be on for staking. I believe the wallet link in OP is the most current wallet. last block was 8313.
Thanks!

So I just need to wait? That's cool. If it starts staking, will it just automatically give me the "x mined" transactions? Does yours say that it's immature even though it's staking?

Min coin age is 6 hours.
That means they will stake after MINIMUM 6 hours in the wallet.
You need your wallet unlocked to stake.
But coins will still age with a locked wallet.
My experience is simply open the wallet once every few days, unlock it for an hour or 2, and you should get stakes.
Have already received stakes on sync.
Main thing now is let DEV speed up confirmation times.

*LIQUIDITY - The Dev for a fee can easily setup up a virtual or phyiscal visa/mastercard for SYNC users. That card is funded with real US$ by selling SYNC premine and charging the user approx 10% per annum. The SYNC end user had the benefit of quick liquidity while his SYNC is held in escrow at 1% whilst keeping any capital gains. The details can structured in several ways. Target date Aug 1st

I especially like this idea Smiley If somebody could do this with every. other. altcoin in existence it'll expedite the integration of those currencies into mainstream currency, rather than fiat>usd>coinbase btc with bank fee and coinbase fee and a week>transfer to market with tx fees with upwards of 2 hours>trade around 0.1% fee>lose even more money transferring it to wallet and even more tx fees and maturity period>cry. This was my first experience with cryptocurrency (dogecoin pfff I know but I don't know I still love doge) and needless to say I was not happy.

If we can streamline the process in which people can get this currency, and advertise this like dogecoin, then maybe 10-20btc can easily be a reality, I'm thinking upwards of 50btc. But as for now, focus on getting the basics down Smiley

I'm rooting for you, dev team

edit: minor caveat, the premine should be used for bounties and other stuff, not just that, but the general sentiment I agree with

2) The premine is intact and publicly visible. NOT CONFIRMED

this and this? Or are you talking about something else? As far as I can tell it's true to the story told of 10 premine and 0 for the next hundred blocks or so

17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: May 26, 2014, 02:41:40 AM
As I have about $20 invested in any cryptocurrency ever, I'm not really one to care, but I feel the general trend for any new thing is that the value shoots up extremely high at first, then drops disappointingly low, and then repeats that cycle (but less intense) until it becomes mostly stable. And I feel like it'll hover around $750 (halfway between current "low" $500 and "high" of $1000) once it's stable, but you know? I'm not an economist, and even they are confused about the future of this.

As for me, I'm in for the long haul. It introduced me to cryptography and as a thank-you to the community I'll mine and stake and follow bitcoin/litecoin/altcoins as long as it's reasonably stable.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| Mandatory Update - HARD FORK AT 8210 on: May 26, 2014, 02:28:52 AM
yo

I'm gonna say that I have little idea of what's going on, but I'm in for the long haul Smiley

so onto the questions

I tried everything I could find in this thread, and it looks like it's working, but what's up with staking?

I understand it's not like bank interest and it's random but it says "you have no mature coins" and getstakinginfo has the -1 estimated time.

Well for the ones I have, they have at least 1000~2000 confirmations, so I don't know what's going on.

Do I have to keep the wallet on at all times in order for that message to say I have "priority" or whatever?

Or am I using the wrong version (it says it's 1.0.0.0)? If it's the older version, could someone post a link to the newest one?

I'm sorry if I sound like the other tools that are complaining about staking not working, but I'd really like to know how it works and if it's working.

Thanks!
