Razor never had anything going for it, it's main feature of TOR in the wallet, is already incorporated in every single altcoin/Bitcoin by design.
No, they do not run on TOR. Yes they do, all coin wallets have TOR capabilities. Are you trolling or just this misinformed? You can run your bitcoin, darkcoin, dogecoin, peercoin, orangecoin, fleecoin, zeecoin...wallet over TOR. This makes Razor's main feature the stupidest I've ever seen for an altcoin, while also making Razor worthless. There is a difference between the capability of running a client while connecting via TOR and having it built into the client so it *only* connects via TOR. Again, you can make it so that your bitcoin/any altcoin wallet Only runs over TOR. So again, Razor's main feature is obselete. Are you saying a developer can implement this or that a user can do this to their own client? If the former, that's the nature of open source software and by that logic the features of all currencies are thus obsolete, and so it's pointless to even bring up. If you mean the latter, then you are assuming way more technical knowledge than most people have, and you're also ignoring that Tor only works well if it's used 100% consistently, and used entirely within a Tor network, which wouldn't happen if you expect individuals to set it up and run it themselves. So there is an actual distinction between Tor being built in and always-on, vs a client merely being capable of using it. Ok, you've made a point. However, simply making this your main feature is useless. It isn't that hard to run a wallet over TOR with any other altcoin, so Razor taking that one step further yes, makes it more accessible to less technical people to do, but is also pretty useless, since that is Razor's only feature... TOR has been "hacked" before as well. Tor itself has not been hacked, only exploited with DDoS and exit nodes. Please, do not ever run a coin across Tor without knowing the implications. Razor is designed to be on Tor only which makes it more secure then going in and out of Tor by leaps and bounds. |

I was burned by the dumps as well. Now, being that I am pushing on Bryce and working to get more hands on this, I do have a vested interest in making the project work. If that is a bad thing, then it would be a miracle for devs to ever want to pursue a career in crypto without backlash.
I still am not happy with the information I have found on the older crew, but nothing I can do about that one but overcome the mess.

Apologies but that was the old 'promoter' and I have taken over this account.
The original issue seems that the dev team was not paid out to finish the project which I am working on fixing. The price dump in Oct/Nov was neither the fact that $RZR did not have an update to nodes (which still worked fine if you waited) or Bryce leaving Blocktech; it was from someone dumping on this news that caused the crash.
This hurt everyone, and I have stepped up to help to bring the full project back to life. I took over the email account housing all the accounts minus the github and website, but I have brought Bryce on to help finish the project and maintain those resources. I have talked about this on twitter and in IRC, but did not get the update on here. I also do not has control of the reddit since no one ran it from this side that I am aware of currently.

Yes, devs are only active in IRC. They seem to dislike the pump and dump mentality of BCT. Price still tanking hard , without updates from dev's i fear the worst. Days are month's in cryptoland, people want see progress. UPDATE: We are still very hard at work with our partners to bring everything together. The ATM works and our tie-ins with Prypto and Moolah are moving forward well. The super secret sauce for private transactions testing should be under way shortly. The SMS gateway was a bit pushed to the side to get everything above back on track. (You can send RZR via moolah's SMS service too) |

I wonder why it's so complicated for RazorTech to give an update according to the project. All these unnecessary rumors: "huhu, the dev has spoken to me via IRC".
What's wrong with IRC? Yes we are not dead, and the coin projects are alive and have active development. We have gone back to not giving too much hype for the need to hype. No we don't hate you, but apparently we need to reply here? We can talk faster on IRC, and chat about about random things which is not needed here. We came to a new plan which does not involve redoing the wallet every week. Future plans are still on track with a couple hiccups for personal/vacation/weekends/family/etc. Plans to release everything has not changed at all. Come chat on IRC, we don't bite too hard. |

Which one are you working on now? Everything. To break it down, there are partnerships being established to begin work on RZRoad and fiat -> RZR. SMS is underway and being tested. More on this coming in the next couple of days. The ATM process is being worked on, and more on that in the next couple of days. |

You guys need to come up with concrete announcements regarding the projects you are working on (Skyhook ATMs, RZRoad, OpenBazaar, etc)
We need good news.
What do you mean concrete? Not everything is set in stone on release dates, so we have some flexibility by being the first to run these integrations into a Tor based coin. We do plan to have news the next couple of days, and people have come forward wanting to claim bounties before I even published any! |
