1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where are my mined Bitcoin? link to debug.log on: October 15, 2022, 12:35:57 AM
I think this is related to OP's old thread: /index.php?topic=5351500.msg57588869#msg57588869
But it appears that he doesn't have his old wallet.dat file and just "took a trip down memory lane" again that he mined bitcoins before.
Thanks for your help.

Did you find your old wallet.dat, you need to maybe use recuva it find your old wallet then look in appdata folder. Go here:https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/download
Then download and run it and look for this. Maybe send me bitcoin reward if this work for you. See you reply if you need help.
Thanks for your advice!

when i use my passphrase to unlock the wallet it said warning running unencrypted wallet but passphrase was called but when i dump the wallet the file is encrypted and i try new nodes but cant read the wallet file.

How did you dump the wallet.dat file? Did you just copy and paste it anywhere while the Bitcoin core wallet is open/running?
If yes, then the copied file is corrupted because it happens to me before you need to make sure before copying the wallet.dat file you need completely close/shutdown the bitcoin core.

Do you still have a chance to access the original wallet? You can make a new copy of your wallet.dat again but this time bitcoin core should be closed/shut down.

Or maybe it is an altcoin that you are trying to dump/import, not bitcoin?
When i first start in Bitcoin it was the only one nothing else exist for that time to my known.

I believe it's possible because The First Offcial Bitcoin Miner Was Bitcoin Core, which uses a CPU to mine Bitcoins. As you said, you were mining Bitcoin in the early days but didn't mention the time period.

1. Make sure you loaded the same wallet file used to mine Bitcoins.
2. Make sure your Bitcoin core is synchronized to see if there is a balance.
3. If you loaded the correct wallet, You can copy the wallet address, check it on Blockchain and see if this address holds any Bitcoins.
4. If your address holds Bitcoin, You are lucky. Let your Bitcoin core synchronize with the network. According to the debug.log you shared, It's showing the date is 2009-01-12. That means you are 13 years behind. Your core must be fully synchronized before you spend anything.

Cheers.

When i begin to mine Bitcoin it was Bitcoin-qt not Bitcoin core and it was on late 2009 but my key was used before by other person that mine bitcoin first than me. He just gave me his personal private key for me to mine Bitcoin and that was because after i compile my node with all the dependecies and more and the last step was the private key and i cant make my own one and he gave me his, i encrypt the key on the cmd with the password and the wallet passphrase and thats why i think that the wallet.dat file is encrypted nowadays you make your private key when you do your password and passphrase.

It's possible the wallet file is partially corrupted. You could try use tool such as pywallet[1] to extract private key from your wallet file. But i'd recommend you to make a backup of your wallet file and make sure you unlock/dump correct wallet first.

definetly this is what i need thanks, i do the same thing one time . Most important thing here is that i need to turn off my node because it will block the pywallet program from been used in the computer i try to decrypt the wallet file.

i just know that i mined plenty of Bitcoin very early.

Have you load wallet.dat file or import private key of Bitcoin address you used to mine Bitcoin in early days? If you already do that, you should wait until Bitcoin Core is fully synced so you can see spend your Bitcoin. But if you'd rather not wait until it's fully synced, you could dump private key from your wallet.dat file and import it to lightweight wallet (such as Electrum).

On a side note, i checked the log and found out you use Bitcoin Core 0.11.1. It's very outdated and have slow performance compared with latest version of Bitcoin Core.
when i use my passphrase to unlock the wallet it said warning running unencrypted wallet but passphrase was called but when i dump the wallet the file is encrypted and i try new nodes but cant read the wallet file.

Hi ive read the posts and see you still trying? Did you see your balance in bitcoin core or does it say 0 balance? So I hope you still have your wallet from 2010. Did you ever find the address that has your mined bitcoins in blockchain.com.

I see your post and you were trying to sell a binance account? Thats look really shady.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I need help! on: July 28, 2021, 08:52:08 PM
Ok so i see you got some of your private keys from bitcoin core. You need go to www.electrum.org and download it, then create new wallet on that. Then sweep your private keys to new address. If it shows balance on electrum then you are right if not then you had wrong key. If you can email me i can help you further.
Also make sure you make copy of 2 wallets you got wallet and wallet.dat and put them in new folder so you dont mess it up. This is important, just right click copy and paste them somewhere else.

your email was on the mining section and its deleted already. Can you write your email again to email you.

I remember long time ago get my bitcoinback with pywallet and store the file in the micro sd of my cellphone and its unbelievable that i can do nothing with even with password and everything.

I dont got the old wallet.dat file i got the new one but i read and said keymeta a lot of characters and separators and is a big list. The dumpwallet none of them said keymeta or nothing just the address and the private key. But this file its encrypted it look like ascII.

Well have you sent any bitcoin transaction from the old wallet to the new one?

If you haven't, and you lost all the copies of the old wallet.dat, I'm afraid you lost access to the bitcoins (especially if the wallet copies were deleted a long time ago).

I just know that looks like the same file i keep on my cellphone micro sd from the last time i see the bitcoin. I know that wallet.file is the old one. I remember i encrypted with the password i got. It was a bunch of addresses and private keys. now to complete the wallet.dat file change for a notepad symbol and yes i make 2 transaction from the wallet and then instead of 4,005 encryoted keys got 4011 encrypted keys. The wallet add ^ keys more for those transactions. How i got 4,011 transactions now? the wallet added  the transaction with the old ones.

I look couple of addresses but nothing i think all of them are new.
Then it's not a wallet.dat from 2009-2010 or even a few years after because AFAIK HD functionality was just introduced in 2016.
Bitcoin core's version is not the issue.

OP said "Yes i got the wallet.dat file but from the new bitcoin core wallet." That means he must have unintentionally created a new wallet file when he downloaded and ran Bitcoin Core a second time (presumably on Windows).

@mafaojr, do have a copy of the OLD wallet.dat from 2009-2010 lying around somewhere that you can open inside Bitcoin Core? Or do you just have the new wallet file?

Do you see any of your 10,000BTC in the new wallet file? Because if you don't, then there's no point in trying to extract the private keys since they are for empty addresses. You should open the old wallet.dat file instead.

like i stated before then buy a new pc with good memory and download again to see if the rescan begin since the block 0 and not from block 155,564 or some like that because i understand that doesnt read since first block because lack of memory thats what i thinking. I rescan it twice.

I got a file named Bitcoin-wallet.1 but i dont find the wallet.dat file.

Its weird because i got 5 files named.
1.bitcoin-cli.1
2,bitcoind.1
3.bitcoin-qt.1
4.bitcoin-tx.1
5.bitcoin-wallet.1
all from the may 31 that i downloaded the bitcoin core. I found a wallet.dat file but was created today not the same day i download the program.

I download bitcoin.exe unsigned and everything run smooth. I dont know how i install a unsigned bitcoin core version. i understand in the way to install a unsigned version of the program will be really up hill to me or not?
or its the same signed and unsigned?

No i dont got the old wallet.dat file i got the file from the new Bitcoin core that i download and took like month and a half downloading the blockchain. With my passphrase i create the wallet and always got the same file. I will buy a better computer to download again bitcoin core because i using an old laptop running on low memory just like 11.5 gb left.
I believe that every node download the blockchain from block 0. Took like 10 to 20 second for each block to download last time i saw the bitcoin was long years ago.

You can't just recover your old wallet by using the same password from your new wallet.

You need to find the old wallet.dat file do you have this?

If you don't have the old wallet.dat file you can't able to recover your old wallet with Balances.

Try to check the wallet folder and maybe the old wallet is there.
If you are using Windows OS you can find it on %APPDATA%\Bitcoin type it on "Run" you can press WinKey+R to open "Run" and paste that shortcut if it doesn't work you can try to type this %APPDATA%\ then enter then look for Bitcoin folder then wallet.

Then check the wallet folder if it shows 2 files with .dat files(E.g. wallet.dat and wallet1.dat). So if you found two wallets there is a possibility that one of these is your old wallet.
I found the file with your instruction but is encrypte y can read a little of it. What i can do to decrypt it looks like one file years ago i encrtpted and put it on my cellphone micro sd. i think i need a notepad c++ on way to be readable. It said keymeta everywhere this is the file with the bunch of key metadata.i unlock the wallet and see the file again but is still encrypted. i dont goin to sleep till i make this work.

I unlocked the wallet and see if show in human readable format but still encrypted. I think if i use something like pywallet it will work because  i got all the passwords. But is a freaking bunch of stuff like a lot. I will keep looking for info or something but any help will be good.

Reading and looking for info its look like ASCII encrytion i am pretty sure is ascII. I will try to get a app or something to help on this.
Some help will be fine. Its got all the characters of that type of encryption.

One last "last" question.

I forgot to ask you if your wallet is HD...
If you're using the GUI, look at the lower-right part of the client.
There should be an 'HD' text-icon there, check if it's "HD" or an "HD" (but 'slash' instead of strikethrough).

The answer will answer the major question in this thread.
Yes is HD.
I look couple of addresses but nothing i think all of them are new.
