Hi. NFT's are much simpler to track now. Thanks Smiley
Do we still have to manually enter a "Custom Price" as though each NFT is it's own "Coin" for things like "Current Balance" to show them correctly?
Cheers
Mat

Also, If so, is there a faster way to do it rather than the "price=custom" page? I have SO many "coins" now that I need to scroll so far down to the "enter new coin" box it take a LONG time to load each collection I sweep.

Hi, Is there a way to have blockchain imports only import from "last import" date automatically. Only way I have found is to constantly manually adjusting date settings in "Optional settings and filters" to match "last import' date.
It would be great for this to have a toggle option Smiley

Thanks

Thank you Mat. You could send us a ticket/E-Mail (support@cointracking.info) sending a walletID/transaction hash and we add this then to our list. Thank you in advance.
For now please adjust them manually.

Done. I also sent a second instance of this happening.

BUT, last night another two nft's were sold through gem.xyz and this time cointracking imported correctly. Only difference I can tell was it was too a different eth wallet. I also sent this transaction in the email for your team to check over Smiley

Hi.
It seems when someone uses a service like gem.xyz to purchase multiple NFT's in one contract cointracking fails to generate the sale accurately.
Two items were purchased for 0.39eth each (TOTAL 0.78eth), but cointracking has imported the trade as Two items sold for a TOTAL of 0.39eth.

This has happened a number of times now.
Just letting you know Smiley

Thanks Andreas.
Issue is I cannot see what the total supply was on purchase date. So i'm stumped Smiley On chain data only shows the purchase of the NFT, not the total $WOOL supply at that time. I can see current supply, but no historical data Sad
To make it worse they have now grouped all pouches together online when claiming, so I cannot count back from claimed amounts.
Your suggestion makes total sense to me though. Thanks. Will keep looking into it.

Hi Mat,
not sure if I get this NFT logic here, but I suggest to add a trade of the full "token A" amount at a virtual "NFT exchange" and then add withdrawal from this exchange over time and always add a corresponding deposit e.g. at your wallet.

Hi Andreas,

How would you suggest I handle the following?

I purchase a NFT (code as trade) which contains x amount of "Token A"
The NFT drip feeds "Token A" over a period of 4 years.
I "Claim" the "Token A" from the website from time to time as I see fit.

How do I code the Token A?
It is not staking as the NFT value drops because you are effectively removing value from it each time you remove Token A.
The NFT is effectively a bulk purchase of Token A that you can collect slowly over time.

Many thanks
Mat

Hi. Is there a way to invite my accountant to view/adjust my cointracking account?

maybe others have asked for this before

but can you guys please start a Discord

would be nice and many times community members can answer each others questions fairly easily.

this feels so 2013!

I second this

Thanks .
So for tax purposes there's really no need to create a Custom Price for each NFT then?
I have been setting one to match my buy price.

Cheers

Hi Smiley
Adding a new Token/Coin/NFT question:

These questions relate to adding a NEW NFT as a "NEW Coin"

A- Are "Edit Asset Value" and "Custom Price For Currency" not the same thing? I notice one is not auto populated when I fill the other.

B- Should the "Custom Price For Currency" be set to exactly the same as I set "Edit Asset Value"? (I set this as the purchase price when adding a NFT)

C - Is it a problem if I do not set both of these? Which is the most important?

Thanks

Hi,
Do we know when ERC1155 transactions will be included in "ETH Blockchain import"?
I seem to have some come through while others don't and its very sporadic.
Thanks

Complicated NFT swap issue:
With a few projects now allowing for swapping out and changing parts of the individual NFT image its getting more and more difficult to account for them. How would you suggest I deal with the following scenario?
Purchase original NFT (a)
Purchase a background image NFT (b)
Swap a background out from NFT (a) for NFT (b).

Im now left with a new NFT(c) being the original background image that came with NFT(a) and NFT(b) is now attached to NFT(a) as a replacement background possibly increasing the value of NFT(a) in the process.

I presume best to ignore the swap all together?

Things are getting harder and harder to deal with in the NFT space as NFT's become more complex

Yes, currently they are not imported. We have this already on our improvement list. So adding them manually is fine here.

Thanks. Is it only Erc1155 that are not imported? How about Erc721?
Thanks

Hi,
How can I handle the following please?

Burning of NFT "Token A"
Receive 5 NFT's "Token B,C,D,E,F"

ie One NFT is being burnt to receive 5 very unique new NFT's.

Do I state "Token A" as a Withdrawal? And then all 5 new tokens as Deposits with value of "Token A" split evenly between all 5 new tokens? ie token A value divided by 5
If so what happens to it in accounting/tax?

Thanks
Mat

Hi,

Am I correct in that " Erc1155 Token Txns " from an Ethereum Address are NOT imported via "BlackchainImport"?
Im finding some are missing.

If I know they are not I can go through and make sure I manually enter them all. But would like to be sure that is the case first.

Thanks Smiley

When I set my ETH address as a "Blockchain Import - Ethereum +Dex" does it import all associated Networks/Chains and coins/tokens that are shown in Metamask under that address (like tokens in the Avalanche Mainnet etc?)
OR - Do i need to set up a "Blockchain Import" for each of the Networks/Chains that use that same address?

ie Set up a Blockchain Import for ETH, POLY, Avalanche (all with the same address).
Thanks

Hi again. Second question:

When adding NFT, is coin value at purchase inclusive or exclusive of transaction fee (gas)?

Thanks

How do I handle the following please?
Gamification and DeFi with NFT's

NFT1 (mutant cat) is staked (I can handle that part - Staking)
It Earns $FISH token while staked (I can handle that part - Staking rewards)
I claim $FISH token (I can handle that part - Staking rewards)

THEN...
I "feed" the $FISH token to NFT2 (Mutant Gorilla) which is staked, to speed up its generation of its reward (NFT3-Serum).  ie I am effectively spending $FISH token to speed up the rewards from a staked NFT. How do I deal with this as I am spending $FISH with no real return other than speeding up staking rewards?

Then...

The NFT3 (Serum) is then fed to the first NFT (Mutant Cat) to change it (To a normal Cat) that can then breed with another to generate yet another NFT.

This is all getting pretty crazy!!

Thanks

@matblam
If you are using "best price" calculation method the gains are calculated properly as the "counterpart asset value" e.g. of your ETH is taken.
If you want to see the gain of the manually added NFT you need to update the asset value while copying the sell value (buy transaction) and the buy value (sell transaction) into the blank asset value field (non listed asset) of the NFT.
See those 2 FAQs here:
Edit asset value manually (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000033219?lang=en)
The cost basis seems wrong in the Gains/Tax Report (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000018287?lang=en)

Thanks. Only way I can get it to work out correctly is to update the sell value to match the buy value in the trade where I sell the NFT. Otherwise it seems to want to use the NFT token price I set in the custom token price on purchase. Or am I stuffing it up doing this? It seems to show correctly in Realized and Unrealized Gains chart now

@Plenty
We are working on it. Thank you for your patience. For now add those transactions manually.

@asdsvsdf
Sounds feasible how to add it. We recommend to consult a CPA here.

If you sell some NFT (as we assume NFTs are crypto currencies) and get another currency for it it is a normal trade. The asset value for the NFT is the asset value of the crypto currency you get.

We suggest to use trade/groups and comments for NFT name details and use abbreviations for the tickers.

You just need to add a current price and add the transaction manually if they are not imported via ETH/BSC API. See https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000007203-entering-ico-coins-and-non-listed-assets/en

So when we purchase a NFT we create a new token/coin under its own ticker and give it a value of purchase price. When we SELL the same NFT do we need to update the value of that token/coin? Or do we just sell that 1 token for xxxETH and it is fine? I notice that when I do this it does not appear in my realised gains/losses but rather disappears altogether.
