1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: September 29, 2019, 12:31:40 AM
You must be a troll or not watching the forum or their Github repository. There has been a ton of work going on and it's all visible in Github. So stop spreading FUD.

****I know see you meant nothing here, not the project itself.

You can also check out progress with think handy dandy little link - https://github.com/orgs/maidsafe/projects/4

SAFE Fleming is the next major release and you can see how close they are with the above link. The next release will have a test version of the coin also and I think that fact might help increase the price substantially, but who knows with cryptos because they be crazy!

Someone in this stream of messages is implying they are purposely delaying the release of the software. Do you really think that or are you a FUD'ster? The Maidsafe team is working on a releasing a network that is as close to flawless as possible.  If people can't see that they aren't paying close enough attention or just attempting to create FUD because it's going to harm another project they are heavily invested in.

Also, Maidsafe did release software a couple of months ago, but because someone is threatened by the project someone created a script maliciously filled the test network full of junk data. The reason someone could fill the network full of junk wasn't an error with the network, but because it was a test network without all the intended features implemented.

Yes, it delayed the launch of the network, but it was actually a blessing in disguise because not only did they fix the issue that allowed someone to maliciously fill the network full of data, but also resolved some other minor issues. Filling the network full of data also allowed the team to see how the network functioned if something like this occurred and it worked flawlessly.

A new release has actually been put out and you can read about it here - https://safenetforum.org/t/maidsafe-dev-update-july-13-2017-test-17/14769 People now have a live network to build sites and apps on to showcase what it can do. Someone just today posted a site that's basically a Soundcloud replacement(Soundcloud is also closing doing soon, great timing I'd say).

The project is extremely open and if you have any questions the developers will answer any questions you post on the forum. Good luck and don't miss this one!

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between Sia, MaidSafe and StorJ on: July 13, 2017, 02:37:29 PM
Maidsafe isn't using blockchain for consensus.

https://blog.maidsafe.net/2016/06/23/introduction-technical-overview-of-safe-consensus/

Here is a link to a comparison of all three that may help you in deciding.

https://themerkle.com/maidsafe-vs-sia-vs-storj/

Also the SAFE Network, Maidsafe's creation, isn't live yet and only in testing right which means any data stored on the networks will be lost if the network is restarted. The network will be restarted occasionally until testing is completed.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MaidSafe COIN ? on: June 19, 2017, 02:08:14 PM
What do you think about MaidSafe COIN ? Is it worth it to invest ? ? ?

Thank You !

The two responses above are obviously oblivious to the facts. There'd be a network running right now if it wasn't for some troll who created a script to fill the network full of garbage. Alpha 2 should be coming out in the next week or two.

Everyone who keeps crabbing about how long it's taken doesn't understand the shift that's going on with this platform. Would you prefer something that gets released and has to be patched every couple of years? Ethereum's blockchain is already grown so large they are looking at ways to fix that impending problem. So like one of them said, know the facts and ignore the FUD.

1. How would I deploy a website out on the MAID network?
Read the instructions here - https://maidsafe.readme.io/docs/demo-app

2. Who would host it and what service would I use to put the site up ...would this be an easy process?
The website is hosted on the whole SAFE Network. You upload the site using the information above and then the network does all the heavy lifting of splitting the files up and saving them to the network.

3. How will I convert my MAID tokens to SAFE coins?
Once SAFE Coin is ready to go, you will send the Maidsafe Coins to a burner address(this is what's on the forum) and then will in return send you SAFE Coins.

4. How far along is testing?
Test Net 4 just started Tuesday.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maidsafe to pump hard after the halving? on: May 01, 2016, 08:07:40 PM
Agreed but they have been proving for a while the technology works but not the whole thing together. It's all sounds technology weaved together to create a very hard to trace network. That's the last I'll say on the subject. Thanks.

I have to disagree because you don't understand how close they are too a release of the MVP. I know a lot of people want to disagree and say they've heard the same song and dance before but they are... LOL!!!!!!!!

If you understand how the SAFE Network functions and the potential behind it, you'd be in ASAP. A truly anonymous network that'll be exponentially hard to monitor. I keep saying to myself I wish I could get people to fully understand what Maidsafe LTD have built. Just throw $20 at it I tell people and you won't be sorry.

They are updating pages for the alpha release!

I am a big fan of start up coins but it should be good and promising not just another shit coin to over crowd the crypto currency world
would like to see how this coin goes and what are it's advantage and disadvantages over the other coins..

Maidsafe Coin is far from shit coin but you will need to trade it in for SAFE Coin when the network is live.

You pay SAFE Coin to store data on the SAFE Network.

All data packets on the SAFE Network are encrypted.

Use will just grow from there as more services and apps are added to work on the SAFE Network.

Go to forums.safenetwork.io to ask questions or check out maidsafe.net, their official website!

Don't miss the rocket to the moon!

What's being released soon is called the MVP(Minimum Viable Product). The MVP will not have SAFE Coin integrated into it yet. To see what else has to be done after the MVP is released read here -  https://forum.safenetwork.io/t/maidsafe-dev-update-8th-december-2015/6289/107

It's very exciting to have the MVP release but there are still things to done and I'd like to prevent people from setting their expectations really high only to get let down.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blocknet, Etherium or Maidsafe - which is the best? on: December 29, 2014, 11:27:38 PM
How can you call something a scam when you can download and test the software?

"The vision is Privacy, Security and Freedom for all of the people of the world."

Who isn't going to support or use software that's main goal is what's stated on the line above?

People will use this software even if it isn't making them "tons of cash" just to be part of the movement. Look at all the people are supporting Tor for free by being relays?

I honestly could care if anybody in this string buys any of this coin but this whole project is a winner in my book.

I missed out on Bitcoin because I was so hesitant in throwing money at a "bad idea" but I will not be missing out on this one.

This article explains the Maidsafe Network and how Safe Coin will work with it.
