They might use their own blockchains but it wont kill bitcoin. Bank's blockchains will just be centralized and wont be their own currencies so bitcoin will still thrive as an alternative to the mainstream and that's why it is still valuable.

This is why people look at conspiracy theorists as nuts. They make and fabricate a conspiracy out of anything, but when they actually do have a genuine conspiracy nobody believes them because they think the iluminati killed their cat and barack Obama is a reptile. I guess any celeb getting involved with bitcoin is a good thing and great for promotion but I think his involvement is purely for his own financial benefit. He seems a bit of a weird fit and I'msure they could have found a better spokesman to promote their ATMs.

Do they not make films about Al Capone and Pablo Escobar? There's more chance of a film about Silk Road being made than one about Gox. There's not even much of a story here. Some money went missing and nobody has any idea where it went. Not exactly exciting is it.

How much are they spending? and wont they just be sending money from their own wallets to another wallet? So probably not costing them that much in fees if they're paying them at all that is. I don't buy the bullshit about them rendering wallets useless. All that'll happen at most is a backlog and probably not as long as they're claiming. Probably just fud.

It was down for me this morning but now it;'s working again. It does go down from time to time but that's the problem with a centralized wallet system. You can always check your balance on another block explorer though.

I doubt it will replace them but one thing I do hope is that mining becomes affordable for many again at some pint though I can't really see this happening sadly.

Why wouldn't we use it? One of my dreams is to be able to spend bitcoin on anything I want and around the world. I think bitcoin will grow slowly over the next 2-5 years but maybe within a decade we will be able to spend bitcoin at most places.

Hopefully they'll die off. Find it hard to believe people would actually vote for another Bush or Clinton but sadly I think we're going to be stuck with one of them.

There are quite a few ways to earn but basically you either need to offer a Service or Sell goods. You can escrow, give loans, sell bitcointalk accounts, do simple tasks etc. Competition is stiff though and it takes time to build rep up so you have to take that into consideration.

Common sense. It's impossible to eradicate crime but you can protect yourself quite well by not doing stupid things. Make sure your coins are safe and backed up and if you have to trade or exchange use reliable sites or people. If you trade with people make sure you used a trusted escrow.

I think with most things the amount you can earn depends on how much you put in. There's certainly money to be made but it's never easy. You could make a lot of money from this forum if you've got the time and are willing to work hard.
