1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New to mining - Need help with 3060 Laptop version. on: October 02, 2021, 09:57:04 AM
I have ASUS G14 with Ryzen CPU and RTX3060 (80W).
Hashrate of mobile RTX3060 is 38MH/s and I have extra 2MH/s from VEGA CPU with TeamBlackMiner 1.06 on Nicehash pool.

Armoury Crate - Manual mode with GPU settings - Base clock offset = 0/200 MHz and Memory Clock Offset = 300/300MHz.
My Armoury Crate settings:

Thanks for sharing. What about your GPU power saver, do you put it on Extreme or leave it at default status?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / New to mining - Need help with 3060 Laptop version. on: October 02, 2021, 08:22:38 AM
Hello everyone, Grin

So I am new to mining stuff. I am currently mining on My Laptop (ASUS ROG G15) which has NVIDIA 3060 card.

As you can see in the picture, I get like 41 MH/S but the GPU will consume like 85W and the temp gets to like 80 degrees or more. I believe that is not really safe for a laptop.
When I apply power saving from Armoury Create (Asus Software) I could reduce the GPU Watt to like 60W or 58W but then the hash rate would drop down to 36 MH/S.

My question is: can I still get the 41 MH but while reducing the watt to like 60 or 70? I tried to do this but as you can see, MSI Afterburner won't let me modify the core voltage /or power limit. I don't know if this problem is in all Asus laptops or not. Lips sealed

Question 2: there is also another problem, I am using NiceHash, so when I go to sleep and lock my laptop (win + L) the hash rate would drop to like 30 - 24!
Is there a solution to this problem? Undecided  Cry

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for your feedback sir,
Ok so can't I just buy some sort of special stand for better ventilation?
And Asus Rog laptops are kinda tuff and made for gaming. Don't you think they can survive mining?

Hey Guys,
I hope you are all good and doing well.

I am new here to this forum, and new to mining in general.
I wanna ask you about Laptop mining.
So currently I am thinking of purchasing ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503 model. The one that has Nividia 3060 RTX card.

Now I heard about the Nividia hash limiter and what so ever  Embarrassed. So is this limiter applies to Laptops cards as well? if so, what is the solution to this problem?  Huh
How many  MH/s should 3060 (Laptop version) produce without any limiter?

Note: I will not be using the laptop just for mining 24/7. But during like sleeping time or when I am not using the laptop for other stuff.

Thanks in advance.

The RTX 3060 of the laptop although a mobile card and not a desktop one is still capable of doing 48.99 Mhsh without any hash rate limiter.I haven't heard for hash rate limiters on Laptop PC-s as of yet so you can go ahead and try. However even with just a few hours of mining and not mining all day you will put your laptop at big risk because mobile GPU-s tend to overheat really fast compared to their desktop counterparts.
