1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not fall for success stories of bitcoin investors on: June 02, 2024, 08:03:25 PM
I don’t know whether or not to call it a positive stereotype but the fact is a lot of people have come into the Bitcoin ecosystem with the mindset that Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme because of the success stories they read online. Not all the stories are true and some of them are made up by characters who want to present themselves as financial experts and deceive the public into investing their money with them. But if you really do your research, you will find that there are other sides to Bitcoin than profit to be made.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Found This Stupid Promotion Circulating on Social Media on: June 02, 2024, 07:27:06 PM
Notcoin is quite popular in my country, those who played the game on telegram and accumulated the coins were able to sell their coins when Notcoin went live. This sparked a lot of reactions especially from people who were not in the crypto space, now everyone is caught up in the frenzy, a lot of token games have emerged on telegram since then. And people join these games because they are afraid of missing out. I think this has been the order of things for a long time. People are drawn to freebies hence the popularity of airdrops and tokens. Often times, Bitcoin is the last resort for investors who have lost money investing in altcoins and Defi projects.

I read a topic recently and I think the OP summed it perfectly:

altcoins=>tokens=>airdrop>bitcoin
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin House Bali, Indonesia on: June 01, 2024, 08:16:07 PM
I commend the efforts and the idea behind the project. This is pretty cool and will have a great impact in building a bitcoin community in the locale. Though Bali is a popular destination for tourists, I don’t think a major focus of this project should be tourists bearing in mind that tourists usually avoid situations and places that may put them at any risk of being robbed or considered “targets”.

I’m surprised to see this username on the list, Ratimov/Symmetrick is no longer active on the forum and I don’t think the account is still a merit source which gives a open spot for Theymos to replace with a new merit source. There’s a long list of merit sources applications on Meta waiting to be approved, I don’t think a merit source application has been approved since I joined the forum.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I bought bitcoins from my first online payment.. on: May 30, 2024, 09:51:02 PM
Too many times when people win some money from a bet or gambling, they often spend the money lavishly and in a wasteful manner or lose it to gambling while trying to double their winnings. It’s nice to hear that you spent your winnings wisely. Hope you can accumulate more Bitcoins in the future.

After receiving my first payment I was so happy, at one point I almost had tears in my eyes. How did you feel after receiving your first payment? How excited were you at that time? And what did you do with the payment? I would be very happy if you let me know
My first bitcoin payment? There are not a lot of jobs that would pay for services in Bitcoin. My first bitcoin payment would be from signature campaigns. I can’t remember which one but I’m sure it was around $40 worth of bitcoins. I was very excited about it, held on to it for a long while. I’m not much of a spender when it comes to my coins. I prefer to hodl for long term.

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Failed crypto project will promote bitcoin more on: May 30, 2024, 01:40:58 PM
Though i haven't been to every country,  but i will use my country to judge. Here we may not have shops, institutes that are accepting cryptocurrency, the government is not talking anything about cryptocurrency but I can say 70% of the young people are into cryptocurrency. I don't think people found cryptocurrency to be strange in my country.
Quite the opposite, we do have businesses that accept crypto as payment method and the government is not sitting on the sidelines when it comes to crypto regulations either. The present government has managed to force Binance and other exchanges to stop p2p trading in the country. Even with all these challenges and restrictions, Nigerians are very keen on cryptocurrency.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it proper for one to trade Bitcoin through a trusted friend ? on: May 30, 2024, 01:29:13 PM
There is a sense of satisfaction and pride that comes with knowing how to do stuff yourself. Something called self-efficacy. Before I go on I want to believe that what you mean is the regular crypto trade and not P2P. What I can say about trading Bitcoin yourself is that you get better through your wins and losses. It is a learning pathway for you. But when you do it through a friend including copy trading which  some may argue is the best, you remain at the beginner trader level for a long time. A total waste of time and resources in my estimation. Trade your Bitcoin yourself through the rigorous process of learning or just hold your Bitcoin.
I totally agree with you on this, but the question now is ?

How about one who actually have zero or no knowledge about the crypto but have an interest on investing so as to enable Him grow more weather?
There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior. The knowledge is available for all, you can learn how to trade by watching YouTube videos and reading materials online. There is no reason why you should trust a second party with your funds, many have lost their money to so called professional traders who promise to give them ROI monthly or give paid signals. Don’t fall for the trap, go for the knowledge instead. Here are some articles and links you should read to get started:

12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 28, 2024, 09:04:58 PM
~snip~
I really don't think Manchester city will struggle if pep guardiola leave, because they were actually doing fine before he came into Manchester city, so what makes you think they can't do without him? It's very true that their dominance of the English premier league is going to reduced to a reasonable extend, but they wouldn't struggle, talkless of struggling like the way Manchester united have struggled since sir Alex Ferguson left the club.

Lastly, if truly that pep guardiola really want to leave Manchester city, then I really don't think it's a good move, for not just Manchester city, but also to him as an individual, because Manchester city is one of those clubs that have the capacity to give you all he need as a coach to succeed,  so why would he be leaving? I don't think their is any logic in him leaving Manchester city, so it would be best he just stay put and enjoy his dominance of the English premier league.
Doing fine? Manchester City were not competing at this level before the arrival of Pep Guardiola. They were not even in the discussion for the contenders of the premier league title, they were not even considered champions league material. Even with top quality players like Tevez, Agüero, Dzeko, Toure, Kompany e.t.c. they were not consistent enough with their performances to be able to compete with the teams of that time. My point is that Manchester City has always had good players and known to spend money in transfer window but they never got the results until Pep came into the picture.
13  Economy / Reputation / Re: Unfair neutral trust on: May 27, 2024, 05:54:46 PM
You might want to fix the hyperlink as it currently points to your profile and not your thread.
I don’t think OP has been active since he created this thread, he should have fixed the hyperlink in the post by now so we can know exactly what post he is referring to and get a better perspective on the situation. Though the reference link on the feedback he was given tells the story. I think Don Don Pedro Dinero is just tired of users making generic posts in the gambling board and creating spam threads hence the tag.

OP we can’t change the feedback given to you, only the person who gave the feedback can remove it. Luckily for you, it’s not going to affect your reputation since it is a neutral feedback and might be changed if you improve your post quality. OP I checked your post history which btw is 90% in the Arabic local board and the rest are in gambling board, your activity outside these boards and merit threads are very low. You should work on that if you want your feedback to be reviewed.

15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Religion. Beliefs or Choices? on: May 27, 2024, 06:57:16 AM

There is no religion that supports gambling. But those sacred rules and regulations are often ignored.  A gambler also believes that if he is addicted to gambling he will suffer but he will still bet. Some take it as entertainment center and others to earn money. These acts are now commonplace among people of almost all religions, regardless of religious beliefs. Even those who talk about religion cannot be said not to gamble. I think it is the religion's responsibility to regulate gambling only by showing the good and the bad. No religion can lead anyone to the right path if the gambler is not alert to himself.
I can’t say for other religions but mine doesn’t explicitly prohibit gambling. It only warns people of the dangers of the love of money. Many interpret that to mean that gambling is a sin because to them gamblers are people who are greedy and constantly chasing wealth at the expense of themselves. Those that see gambling as a form of entertainment do not share that view. So this is mainly a case of interpretation and context.

Why should any religion prohibit one from gambling.  What's it to them?

Mammon perhaps.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 27, 2024, 06:38:53 AM
It looks like Manchester City’s dominance of the Premier league will be coming to an end soon because according to Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola may be leaving Manchester City next summer. I wasn’t expecting Pep to leave the club anytime soon, Manchester City are not ready to be without Pep. City has always had good players but the missing piece was a manager who could harness the talent of the players and introduce strategies that would win games. Pep filled that gap for Manchester City and if he leaves, it will take time for the club to recover from that loss. Hopefully they do not suffer as much as Manchester United did when Sir Alex Ferguson left the club.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 26, 2024, 08:23:42 PM

One of my friends who is a Manchester United supporter posted this image yesterday after they won the FA cup. Clearly it’s a joke about Arsenal bottling the premier league, what makes it even funny to me is that Manchester United fans despite having a bad season now have a trophy to celebrate while Arsenal who went head to head with the league champions City have nothing to show for their efforts.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefits from the forum. on: May 26, 2024, 08:08:21 PM
Everything you have said is true, everyone is here for at least one of the reasons listed. Even those who were introduced to the forum as a means to earn from bounties later changed their perspective and became interested in Bitcoin.

6. Business ideas.
From this forum you can get a lot of business ideas, there are a lot of discussions in the Bitcointalk forum and business discussions are not excluded.

If there's something I didn't add or I didn't explain well or if I'm wrong in any way, please I'm open for correction.
I’m not so sure about the business ideas part, it could be because I don’t frequent the Economy board as much. But I think such discussions would be common in local boards, the forum is mixed with people from different countries so businesses that are successful in x country may not be as successful in another country.

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 25, 2024, 11:10:55 PM
I don't advise that you should gamble for anything sake, but if it's already a habit that you can't get away with it, peace stick to it until you fine a way/reason to either control it or quit.
Maybe it’s just me that finds it weird that users advertising for casinos do not actually like gambling. If you strongly believe gambling is bad, you should stand firmly by your principles and not play double standards.

This looks like a  fictional story to me... There's no betting shop that would allow students with uniforms to gamble. It's even unlawful to allow teenagers into your casino outlet as an offense of such would attract apprehension by the state law enforcement agencies.

Edit:Let's all be mindful of what we share online... It can either be be for or against a particular locality or country...
It’s possible in a society where laws are not enforced. There may be laws against underage gambling but how efficiently are the laws enforced by the state? I believe OP’s story because I have seen it irl, though they were not in school uniforms you could tell that they were not up to 18years old.
