1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AERO] Aerocoin x13 + PoS | AeroME | Privacy | 100% PoS! on: July 12, 2014, 02:48:26 AM

My guess is that it is a combination of miners selling now that POW is over and a certain fraction of the altcoin community that is obsessively impatient. I think most of them will regret it. All of my research indicates that good things are coming for this coin.  The truth is, no one can predict or guarantee the future but I do a lot of searching for honest coins. AERO is no scam. If anything, the advice I would give to the aero devs is to focus on one thing at a time since they seem extremely ambitious. The assortment of features planed for this coin (an anonymous marketplace with multisig and smart contracts (!!!)) will be very powerful if not revolutionary.  I will be holding for sure if not buying more at these prices.

Aerocoin Whitepaper is online!

http://aerocoin.org/Aerocoin.pdf

This is a roadmap regarding the direction Aerocoin is heading towards.
There is a vast amount of detail as yet, not included, consider this paper as an indication of *some* of our plans Wink

This is exactly what I was thinking as I was reading it. As a presentation to indicate where this coin is heading, the document is very exciting.
Every altcoin wants to create a space for itself and the prospect of actual use. Imagine a coin with all the tools needed for anonymous e-commerce built into it. Imagine a coin that empowered individuals to decide what was worth buying and selling, and to whom, and on what terms, without supervision from banks and other authorities. A coin like this would have considerable real world value.

With smart contracts, escrow, and anonymous P2P exchange, it appears the coin we are imagining is the coin AERO is trying to become. For me that is worth buying into and I consider myself lucky to know about it right now.

AERO has a huge amount of growth potential. What do we know about Aerome? Id like to hear more about that.

I only learned about this coin a short while ago. Even in that short span of time I've seen the energy behind this coin growing. The potential features behind this coin combined with the community forming around it make this a great coin to get in on now.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AERO] Aerocoin x13 + PoS | AeroME | 20 GH/S on: July 04, 2014, 02:21:24 AM
This coin looks really very good. I got some AERO today on C-Cex and I'm glad that I did.

I'm impressed with the devs behind this coin and encouraged by the poll in the original post. It's nice to see such an interest in the community's wishes and any one of those features would make this coin a good investment right now.

Can anyone tell me what File Storage means in the context of a cryptocurrency?

I'll be keeping a close eye on AERO and posting here often. Keep up the great work. Smiley

Just in case it might help some people here is an example of what your email sent to thestuhlman@hotmail.com with the subject "Node Payment" should look like:

Node: XtEHWGGyebVrKSaVh6piXdZ9id7xe9kkmQ

Signature: IGd5ZCuNgphWZtB8uGO7TOFgYd3S7Goy7E8lzOLydUfodrjpKfqBT+w0IJtqU4uw1yJpsWrkbU3ZXdw1GEkzR3Y=

Send BTC: 13eJ2Ro4oovodCsPQb4Hny6PX2w5ZwfDtc

How to make the signature: Open your CAIx wallet and click the Receive Coins tab. Find the address you used as your Master Node. Right click on it and select Sign Message. Do not put anything in the message field. Press the Sign Message Button in the lower left hand corner. A signature code will be generated above the Sign Message Button. Copy and paste it into your email.

You should not under any circumstances share your signature code with anyone other than Stuhlman.

Thanks for the update Stuhlman. I see my node on the list.

The payout is proceeding as promised. I hope every honest person will hold the trolls, FUD dispensaries, and traitorous jackals accountable by discounting every single thing they say in the future. [Hint: If this post makes you defensive, you are probably one of them] [Hint 2: Many of the trolls by different names are all the same single person]

I have pointed out in previous posts that CAIx is a unique coin and a unique community. We are about to enter a phase in CAIx history that makes it very rare indeed: A cryptostock that actually delivers on its promises. With a powerful official CAIx multipool on the way. With the future KNC Titan miner deployed for the benefit of every CAIx holder. CAIx is the coin to keep.

With high regard for all the CAIx holders who held strong in the face of recent calumny,

- Em

I am a member of the foundation. I have not posted here often but felt I had to after Virtuallann's resignation. In my last post I extended him a level of professional respect. I disagreed with his conclusions and strongly disagreed with his approach. Since then, I have become dismayed and puzzled about his actual intentions. If someone is duplicitous I don't want to give them more attention. So I won't. With this post I hope to provide some context that sincere people can use to form rational judgments.

The Foundation: When someone says they are 'resigning from the Foundation' it helps to know what they are resigning from. The Foundation consists of investors, miners, and creative people who have a common interest in the prosperity of CAIx. The group includes large, medium, and small CAIx holders. No single person has the authority to speak for the project or make unilateral decisions on its behalf. No one on the foundation is paid or compensated in any way. The influence of the Foundation derives from listening to the community's concerns (indeed feeling the same concerns directly ourselves), speaking with the developers, and consulting with Stuhlman. Ultimately the Foundation is a group of volunteers with the self-same interests of every other CAIx holder. We look for creative ways to promote the coin and, when possible setbacks arise, we explore ways to transcend the problem. I believe this is what every CAIx holder would want.

Stuhlman: As a matter of basic respect I will not say more about Stuhlman than is available to my direct personal experience and the public record. I have spoken with Stuhlman many times and have always been left with the impression that he is a sincere and honest man. I would not myself have invested in CAIx were this not the case. Stuhlman is not a developer or a coder. He is a businessman who coordinates the activity of the developers and the strategic recommendations of the Foundation. He is the primary CAIx spokesperson and project leader. Responsible members of the Foundation wait for Stuhlman's input and confirmation about any challenges we should address. Everyone on the Foundation knew that Stuhlman was preoccupied with the real and serious health concerns of a family member (he has said this himself publicly). I'm surprised that a Foundation member would choose the exact time that Stuhlman said he would be unavailable as the best time to dump their coins first and resign with maximum drama second. It is for each reader to decide what to make of that.

The Developers:  The Caishen developers are a very diverse group. This is not surprising since we are evolving a business model as much as an altcoin. There are different developers who focus on different pieces of the project (Tiny Elementals, the wallet, the multipool, etc). The Caishen developers I have spoken to personally are competent and hard working. Speaking for myself, I would like to see more results more quickly, but I have seen the work in progress with my own eyes, I know it is coming, and I am glad they are concerned about the quality of the outcomes. The Foundation has made some reforms to make it easier for us to speak with the developers more often and I wouldn't be surprised to see additional help brought in as we clear these hurdles and look to the future.

Setback vs. Scandal:  Genuine whistleblowers deserve our gratitude and respect. If you uncover a scam please let me know. I will do the same for you. If instead what you uncover is a setback then the proper time must be taken to gather the facts and search for solutions. In the history of this coin there has never been a scam, there have never been any genuine whistleblowers, but there may well be some opportunists with their own agenda to besmirch the coin after their exit.

Taking Stock: The drama that has been manufactured about one Titan versus three should not obscure the positive reality of the one Titan we will have. The plans for the miners preceded my time with the Foundation but not my interest in the coin. There were good reasons to be invested in CAIx before anyone heard of any Titans and none of that has changed. What has changed is that we will have a Titan put into the service of the coin and the people who hold it. Ultimately I am another voice on this forum and you will judge for yourself. Actions will speak louder and be most convincing.  In the days to come when this community comes through with the MasterNode payments, an official and fair MultiPool, and an attractive new wallet, you will see for yourself how irrational the FUD has been.  You might come to the conclusion, as I have, that the price is as irrational as the FUD, and see the time to buy is now.

TLDR summary: CAIx is a large community with volunteers and developers working hard to push it forward. When you hold CAIx you own equity in the potential of all that effort. The CAIx Foundation seeks to both promote the coin and confront any challenges. When a possible setback emerges the first response is to search for solutions instead of drama. A critical thinker should ask themselves why anyone would cultivate more drama than solutions, but not until after exiting first. There has never been a scam in the history of CAIx. There have been setbacks that come as a part of doing business. CAIx holders can have confidence in the work being done to move us all forward.

I am also on the CAIx Foundation. I have not posted on bitcointalk very often but I think I really have to now.

I have chatted with Virtuallann and I have respect for him but I feel very strongly that his post was irresponsible and rash.

First let me tell you how I came to be on the CAIx foundation: I am simply a CAIx holder like many of you, I was in the CAIx IRC channel out of an interest for the well being of the coin. I spoke with many of the people I view as leaders of the CAIx team very often and shared with them, when I could, my concerns and ideas. As a result of forming these relationships I was nominated and voted into the foundation. The reason I give you this background is to put my perspective into context: I have seen or been part of the same conversations as virtuallann but I came into the foundation with, and still have the point of view of an outsider looking for an honest coin to invest in This is the same point of view, I think, the majority of people reading this board will have.

So let me tell you what I have found:

I have found (contrary to my cynical expectations about the altcoin scene) a group of people who are working in good faith and the sincere intention of adding value to CAIx for all investors. In many ways Virtuallann is typical of the sort of person I have come to know within the Foundation -- I do not question his integrity and I believe he is doing what he thinks is right -- without speaking for Virtuallann, my bet is that he would agree with me that the Foundation consists of people who, like himself, are concerned about both the coin and the people who hold it.

The truth:  Virtuallann does have a legitimate reason to be frustrated when it comes to the level of communication between the different parts of the CAIx team. The Foundation members (consisting largely of investors) and the dev team need to have a more direct line of communication with one another. I have personally spoken with some (but not all) of the CAIx developers. I can tell you with great confidence that the developers I have spoken with are solid and competent people. It is easy for me, as a non-developer, to wish they would work faster sometimes, but ultimately I am glad they care about the quality of the outcomes as much as the attention span of the market. Stuhlman is the link between the Foundation and the developers. He has been occupied with very serious and immediate concerns about the health of someone in his family. That is the reason why there have been less frequent updates. As a member of the Foundation I have a responsibility to promote the coin in the best possible light. As a human being I have a responsibility to be honest with people. What this amounts to for me is this:  Whenever I have positive and definite information about the coin, I use all my powers of communication to let others know about it. Conversely, if I knew with certainty about ethical problems with this coin I would let people know about that also.  In my view, Virtuallann has jumped the gun. It seems that his frustration about the lack of more effective communication (something many of us feel) led him to more sinister conclusions than are warranted. He admits that he did so, in part, for self-interested reasons. I respect Virtuallann and I respect his right to express his views. I don't think he did it in the best way. I suspect he will regret this approach in the days to come when more definite and positive information surrounds this coin.

As a member of the foundation here are a few things that I can confidently assert as positive (near-to-mid-term) future developments for this coin:

(A) An official and fair CAIx multipool

(B) A rare example of a cryptostock that actually does what it says it will do and pays out a dividend to the MasterNodes. There has been debate within the foundation about whether the payout should be in CAIx or BTC (with good arguments on both sides) I have given Stuhlman a recommendation, should he decide to payout in BTC, for how that can be done fairly and without fraud. I do not know if the payout will be in CAIx or BTC but I have every reason to believe it will happen. When it does happen that should be a strong indication of the integrity of this coin.

(C) A Titan Miner that will be used to increase the value of the coin. I will recommend to Stuhlman that when he receives the Titan Miner he make a video of himself opening it.

(D) An attractive new CAIx wallet.

The TLDR summary:  Virtuallann's frustration about communication is understandable but his pessimism about the coin isn't. Every member of the CAIx foundation has a responsibility to promote the interests of the coin as well as to be honest with the public. In either case we should be working from definite facts rather than personal misgivings. I am also a member of the Foundation and I can tell you that the amount of hard work and good intentions behind this coin exceeded my expectations as a CAIx holder. There are improvements that need to be made and communication needs to be streamlined but I see reasons to be optimistic about the future of this coin.

I know this is a difficult time for this community and I am sincerely sorry for the loses experienced by many good people. This sort of thing is happening with such regularity I fear that it bodes poorly for the health of the entire altcoin scene.

Anyone burnt by this and other scams has every right to walk away from crypto feeling bitter and betrayed.

There are honest coins out there though. I hope that some of you will check out NobleCoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=402667.0
It was created to prove that an honest altcoin can exist and it has stayed true to that vision.

Im glad of the new coming changes, the POS stage and the renew marketing. I been here from the beginning of the coin and i feel part of this project.

I agree with you 100%.  I myself discovered NobleCoin more recently. I became interested in Altcoins after the Gox fiasco and I spent about a month researching different coins looking for one that had value.

After a month of searching, the one coin that puts it all together for me is NobleCoin. I believe in the NobleCoin values, mission, and people behind the coin. We have so much already going for us with this coin and the coming adaptation shows me this is a coin that is going to be here for a long while so that we can continue building the world for crypto that we want to live in.

Quote
The price dropped because all alts are going down. Face this fact once forever. All alts will die. And the only way to profit from an altcoin is to get in in the right moment for the pump before the dump.

There is some validity to this for an altcoin chosen at random. But not for a coin like Noble that has built itself from the beginning with a long vision to promote philanthropy, eCommerce, and mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency.

You can scroll through the list on MintPal and find dozens of coins that match your description because you are accurately describing the scene. One of the reasons to love Noble is because it is the exact opposite of what the current scene has to offer. Yes. Many coins were made by shady devs with the singular purpose of being pumped, dumped, and abandoned.  Contrast this with NobleCoin which existed 5 months ago and will exist 5, 10, and 20 months from now and beyond. What's wrong with the scene is that too many people are in it to get rich quick. What's right about Noble is that we are a community that is building the crypto world we want to live in over the long run.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**52 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 15, 2014, 11:30:55 AM
I don't understand why the price is that fucking low?

The price has dropped because: (1) Someone has been very determined to wage a 51 percent attack against the coin. They are spending a lot of money and a lot of time to hurt the NobleCommunity because they don't want anyone shining a light on the dirty altcoin scene.  (2) Because of the 51 percent attacks, MintPal has seen the need to warn people who visit the NOBL trading page that it requires 999 confirmations to deposit NOBL.  The combined effect is people being nervous and the price going down.

The price will rise because: (1)  This is a living coin that is adapting to the challenges discussed above. The switch to POS will remove both of the previously mentioned problems. (2) This is the same living coin it was 5 months ago, with good people, a strong community, an honest dev, and a great vision to merge philanthropy, eCommerce, and Cryptocurrency. (3) The Noble Infrastructure is excellent. We are one of the few coins with such a robust marketplace for buying actual goods and services. More goods and services everyday. How would you like to buy Gold Bullion with crypto? Better hang on to your NOBL if you want to do that. (4) After the switch to POS, Rofo will have more time to focus on making the infrastructure and ecosystem around this coin even more amazing. (5) Noble is and always has been a coin built with a long term view of a future for crypto. NobleCoin is not just waiting for that future it is creating it. Noble is the coin you can hold, spend, and believe in.

In light of all this, a wise person should view the current price as not so much a reason to be alarmed as an opportunity to be seized.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**52 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 14, 2014, 06:36:54 PM
I'm really excited about the changes coming to NobleCoin.  I bought into this coin exactly because of the integrity of this community. The way it has been attacked by the worst elements of the alt coin scene is proof we are doing it right. They don't want to see an honest coin survive.

Because of the coming changes we are going to be a coin and and a community that lasts. I appreciate the work that Rofo and the community have done. We can't sit still while being attacked and I am so confident in this team, this coin, and these changes that I bought more NOBL today. I would recommend anyone do the same.
