1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto News (YouTube) - ( PCG: Todd Butterfield ) on: July 23, 2019, 02:34:10 AM
I’ve been following Todd for a year or so and if you actually watch him and look at what he’s doing, he knows what he’s talking about and makes good calls. Of course there’s going to be people that talk shit mostly because they bought Btc at $18k+ and got REKT in the correction, but out of all the people on YouTube, he’s one of the few that I watch. Watch his shows and form your own opinion. That’s all I can say. And if you went from $50k down to $17k then you are lucky. Most people lost 90% of their money in that crash especially if they were in alt coins.

Is there more information on whats going on with Silk / Sequence? I can't find an ANN for it and nothing new comes up in google. Whats the plan? Why the name change? Does anyone have a link to any info?

cheers

Its funny. Even the first coin Bitcoin was basicly pre mined and people are still freaking out about it. Satoshi had about a million coins mined before anyone even knew what was going on. haha

I have one transaction on the new wallet..  still at 0 of 3 confirmations for 32,000 coins sent to Poloniex. Since Oct 10. But it also sent with zero fees for some reason. I hope it either goes or comes back. I don't want all these coins in limbo.

I had a hard time installing the new wallet on mac. i wiped it and started over.. block chain took about 6 days to download. That was pretty painful. I liked the pump in price. Made up for the last year of downtime..

Trying to install the 0.8.7.2 wallet on my mac. When i go to load it, it just says No wallet loaded and the loading screen just hangs and i have to force quit it.  But the wallet is loaded and it worked before. Any ideas? Is there a diff version i should be using? I am on OSx 10.9.5

thanks everyone

Can anyone help me with this? I also added the bootstrap and all the nodes into the application folder and it still says wallet not loaded and it hangs at the loading screen.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PotCoin | GROW WITH US | CRITICAL WALLET UPDATE - POSv | on: February 09, 2016, 05:13:14 PM
For those having issues syncing, you can always find an updated list of nodes here https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/#!network click on the node list for Potcoin:0.8.7.2 and add to your potcoin.conf  Smiley

Hello there is currently no .conf file for my pot coin wallet that I can find, and if i make one, then the wallet won't open. It crashes instantly. Ive been an investor since the beginning but This coin is starting to piss me off and I'm ready to dump them all and walk away.

Hello

thanks for the info
I tried adding the nodes into the debug window and i get the error

Method not found (code -32601)

It accepts the "addnode" command if you remove the = sign in there but still no connections to the network. All my other wallets connect instantly.

Still no connection. I don't know if I'm comfortable going into and making .conf files on my mac. Im a trader and not a computer programmer.

I just tried making a .conf file and now the wallet won't even open. Crashes instantly.

Lonnie

Potcoin Devs,

Not responding and addressing to the multitude of people that are having wallet problems is odd.

How is it that you can have a new release of a wallet, but it doesn't sync to a single node?
Yet I have potcoin running on an old machine that is fully synced, but when I download the most current Potcoin full-wallet from your webpage to another machine, it doesn't sync? And all the old nodes in the above lists provided on your thread don't work?

And, given this is a recurring problem, why aren't you offering an updated node list regularly and conf file instructions, or wallet addnode instructions?
Or simply make sure this is hard-coded in the new wallet...

Think I'm the only one? Read back in this thread, and also just do a 45 second search list of "potcoin doesn't sync" or any number of variations on that theme. You'll see this has never been addressed and that you've lost a lot of potential users.

To all of you that are having problems and still wish to try to make potcoin work, here are 4 current nodes from a wallet I've had running for over a year now:
As of 11:30pm Central Time 2/8/2016 -

addnode=164.132.25.194:4200
addnode=104.131.2.154:4200
addnode=2.110.136.110:4200
addnode=199.200.107.67:4200

Create a notepad file and save as potcoin.conf in local disk / users / <yourusername> / AppData / Roaming / Potcoin.
(To see your AppData file you'll need to know how to look at hidden files, you may need to google that part)

Or go in your wallet and click help, then debug window, then type
addnode=164.132.25.194:4200 add
And hit enter.
Do that for the other three entries as well (don't forget to put add at the end).
I did that for my new wallet and it starting syncing the second I ran the wallet.

Ok devs, stop with your social media and PR pushes and address the most basic problems.

1. A wallet that works and syncs out of the box.
2. When you solve that, notice that your wallet runs on high ram - way higher than most (insert pot joke here) (and don't give me the staking excuse, i also run curecoin and ppc, they run substantially lower in ram) - most people that run potcoin are also running other alts. They don't want an alt that regularly consumes 300,000+k in ram.

Thank you for you time.

Peace,
AtomSea

The whole idea of making these wallets is to make them user friendly for people that don't understand or know how to add nodes and .conf files into their OS. Not everyone is a computer nerd. The developers should just make a wallet with the current info needed to run. Thats why developers make updates and new releases.

i just reinstalled my old wallet, and it opens just fine...  and now 0 active connections.. WTF?

My pot coin wallet on my mac won't work anymore. Trying to sync. it says it has 8 connections.. nothing happens for days.. That was an old wallet.. tried the newest wallet on the website and it won't even load. I click allow for the network connections and then it just sits there and does nothing? its OS 0.8.7.2 is that the newest one?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Refuting the 5 arguments of 1mb supporters on: February 04, 2016, 09:15:21 AM

How is 1MB limiting adoption? why do I keep reading about this nonsense? If you pay the fee it works as intended.

Hey, here's a crazy newsflash - not very many people use Bitcoin. If twenty million people want in it suddenly becomes a whole load less appealing as fees spiral to infinity and transactions take forever. Most first time users will not give it a second chance in that scenario.

They need to do something. Its already too slow and the block chain is way too big.

I don't leave dust on exchanges. I just withdraw it all or invest it all. Im not too concerned about 2 or 3 cents worth. The only place i have any tiny amounts sometimes are on my BTC debit card site.

Ive been a strong believer in Darkcoin... the DASH rebrand.. well not so much. I still think it was a mistake. Continual downward trend. Im selling all mine tonight. I will buy back in when/if the trend reverses. I'm not wealthy, I can't afford to lose anymore money on this investment. Sad.
