1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: September 11, 2015, 05:28:56 PM
Can anybody reach WilliamLie2 and force him to login? Maybe someone knows his email or new account.

I think it would be hard to pass MOTO development to somebody else without his help.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: September 10, 2015, 08:08:43 PM
What if we just gather a team of people willing to do something for it, we could market and develop and give more purpose to it's existence.

Yep. Let's form "MOTO holders association" or something) and make a fund to collect some MOTO for the new dev.

Also, it would be nice if WilliamLie2 showed himself here (even if he don't want to further develop MOTO) so if we find a new dev, he could give him access to repository, twitter and so on.

WilliamLie2! Сome online please!

Guys! Something's happening on c-cex.

Let's support MOTO and put some buy orders! (or dump and finally kill it lol)

After that only rarely it was possible to human mine some

It's human mineable now. Launch the game and you'll see 44.4 sec. It's very easy to mine.

The only problem is that it is insecure because of bad hashrate distribution.

Maybe moto should officially finish its proof-of-play "career". It will do that anyway when public bot appeares. I bet no human will get a single coin after that. And moto will be just like any other coin but with very weak and insecure hash.

But! You could intentionally change proof-of-play to some normal hash algorithm at block 350000 for example and simultaneously decrease reward from 20 to 0.4 moto.

Moto would become secure coin with really great history. And it still would be proof-of-play in some sense because 99% coins were generated during proof-of-play "era".

You could announce it everywhere like "hurry up it's your last chance to mine moto".

And exchanges wouldn't fear it anymore.

I think it solves everything.

I'm going to invest $360 into moto to get newer graphics...

Existing sprites are not so bad actually. Moto is a concept after all, and also it's more like a sporting thing, so this spartan design fits well.

Also, the game will not look much better if you just change sprites. You would have to add moving clouds, grass, animation, lighting, special effects and so on. It's complete rewriting of visualization code.

If you want to spend $360 on moto, I think it would be more efficient to spend it on advertising like banners and articles or give it to bittrex if they agree to add moto and promote it.

Don't forget that about two months ago bot owner dumped all his coins and the price was still rather high after that, but nobody played anyway. And the only reason is that we have only one and very small exchange - c-cex (I would even say "toy exchange"). But moto really needs some normal exchange.

I think we should temporary forget about vulnerability, hashrate distribution etc. and bring moto to bittrex or something similar cause we've got nothing to lose now anyway. Maybe they will agree to add moto if we pay them some btc (I can spare a bit of course). If I remember correctly, they have already offered to add moto for 1 btc. Then I believe price will go up, everybody will start to mine and everything will be ok.

Maybe HunterMinerCrafter can do us a favor and ask them again and I think we will collect required btc easily.

I may be wrong but I think there is some kind of synchronization issue after September's patch. Every now and then my wallet shows one block number and c-cex shows another (often less than mine).

Sometimes my client doesn't receive any block for 20 minutes but when I restart it, they arrive.

Who the hell is selling at 0.00000075 it's insane.

Can you explain how exactly do you want to implement this voting system? I mean will it take into account only last 2000 blocks or all the blocks (will all already mined blocks have default voting parameters then?)

Also, I think maybe it's wiser to wait until mining distributes well and more exchanges add moto before implementing this voting system?

Maybe he can't do it now, but he can revenge later.

By what means?

He can make forks, double spends, reject foreign blocks and transactions etc. I don't understand why we should escalate the situation. We can just make normal fork at some future block (206000 for example)...

I'm thinking that we might want to eventually put some parameters, such as base hashing work requirement, up for a decentralized vote on-chain.  Is this something people would feel should be prioritized?

If you mean embedding voting system for choosing minimum map generation hash work I vote "yes"!)

Soo let's fork from 199000 and    distress  the bot owner up to 100 000+ MOTO

Don't forget that he can fork too. If you fork him, he will definitely do it in return. We should play nicely.

He can't fork.. cause community against "fastbots".. C-Cex chain is delayed until we provide the right builds for community and we may choose the point of fork..

Maybe he can't do it now, but he can revenge later.

Meanwhile... I didn't measure carefully, just watched block index for some time, but:

199000-200000: 4 sec / block

200000-202000: 8 sec / block

202000-204000: 15 sec / block

204000-206000: 25 sec / block

206000-208000 will be around 50 sec / block I presume ie relatively human mineable again

I think we just need to wait a few hours (or days). Anti-warp will slow down him again.

Obviosly bot is improved from time to time, I think we may experience this several times in the future.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin | Upgrade your wallet on: September 05, 2014, 03:26:21 PM
Maybe it's not necessary to fork now at all cause the situation with block generation speed resolved itself...
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin | Upgrade your wallet on: September 05, 2014, 02:07:35 PM
Sorry) I didn't want to offend you)

Actually, I'm checking your code for bugs sometimes.

I still think 196000 was too early (we had only one hour before the fork).

Current situation is not a problem at all. We just need new builds)
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin | Upgrade your wallet on: September 05, 2014, 01:12:44 PM
Now we have a small situation.  C-cex and block explorer are the only nodes actually on the new fork.  In my lack of sleep the builds that I uploaded are not the correct builds, and still run under the old rules.

Don't want to complain or offend but I think you need to be more careful and responsible. It looks like you don't even test your code properly and don't check your builds. It's a currency after all, not a homework.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: September 03, 2014, 02:15:21 PM
EDIT: How about we split the difference and say 198000? I'd have to restart builds.

198000 is OK!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: September 03, 2014, 02:04:38 PM
OMG. Nobody will update it in time. Make it at least at 200000.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: September 03, 2014, 10:04:51 AM
The real problem here is that what is "2-3 sec on average" worth of work for an "average pc" might be virtually no work at all for a gpu/asic.  What is 2-3 seconds of work for an asic might take hours on an average pc.  It can't really be constant, it needs to adapt to network conditions.

It's not a problem actually, we can try to find some heavy hash alghorithm which require huge amount of memory (bye-bye asics) and which are very inconvinient for GPUs.

Quote
While I tend to agree that this would be quite a good solution, I have yet to find a reasonable way to actually execute it.  If the work "mixed in" has too much impact on the physics it makes for some unpleasant experience for a human player.  If it does not have enough impact then bots can simply ignore the perturbations and solve without the extra work and just "double check" their solutions for validity with the work cycles added back in.

We don't even need to make them unnoticable. Parameters can vary within the range +/- 20%. I bet it wouldn't be a problem for people even if they would need to drive bike and 5 seconds later it would transform to hellicopter.

Anyway, the final decision is yours of course...
