1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Small Immersion system, modular. on: November 12, 2021, 07:06:39 PM
TLDR; Utility tub sink holding 3 full size miners with recirculating pumps that use a large aluminum radiator. Semi sealed overflow system.
Do you think I'll have enough flow rate or should I go ballz deep with a large single pump but then more overflows will be needed??

V1.0 Diagram posted.
I'm a small hobby miner and need to address dust as well as noise. Dust is the main concern as well as airflow for more than a couple miners. I can't cut large holes in the building for more ventilation but I can run coolant lines outside.

The utility sink is a one piece molded tub that is about $100 that has flat surfaces in which holes for bulkheads can be drilled. Conveniently the drain can be used as a cool return at the bottom and additional holes with bulkheads can be drilled and located optimally in the bottom as well. Overflow is done with four 1" bulkhead fittings. Both supply and return connect to a 3" manifold system below the tub. Cover the top with a clear cover with a seal to keep dust and contaminates out of the tub as well as evaporation of the oil. Miners are supported on the bottom with wire racking to allow coolant to flow underneath. Cold supply from the back and hot return at the top front should make the coolant flow up and through the miners.

Pumps and flow are where I could use some feedback. Large pump will work but it takes more power. The immersion cooling videos on youtube dont seem to have a lot of circulation.

What Coolant to use?  Mineral Oil?

Thanks

TLDR; It works great, do it!

I have a 4G to wifi router set up in a remote cabin to operate smart plugs. I can turn on the electric heat on the drive up and have heat by the time I get there.
I use USMobile for my cell plan because they have the cheapest data only plans. First month get a large enough plan and see how much data is actually used and adjust from there.
I may just put a small rig in my cabin since it has a small solar install that could run something little. hmmmmmm good idea.
