I find also with time the pleasure I get from owning more and more bitcoin easily outweights the "disadvantage" of not spending it. I look at the increasing number and I get a super happy feeling. And the feeling is lasting. Whenever I've spent some, the feeling is just fleeting. It's a bit like eating candy. Very nice in the moment - after a bit not so nice and the regrets come.
