1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Daily reminder if you held the bag, you are a fool and will be a loser in life. on: May 15, 2020, 06:14:33 AM
One thing I learnt Slow Death is to just buy and hold for at least a few years. It’s a lack of patience that leads people to sell. There are many shake outs along the way. It’s crazy to see how much bitcoin has grown. All metrics are up year by year other than the price. If you only risk what you can afford to lose then what is the problem? 😎

I could not agree more kfactor. I love looking back at old posts like this. It’s funny how history repeats and the bears moan about the price being down from ATH. A few years later they soon get proven wrong 😎.

4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CEX now accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment on: January 11, 2016, 06:49:11 PM
I bought a blu-ray with BTC at the Cardiff store in the shopping centre. They said that 2 others had sold items for BTC before me and I was the third user of BTC but first to purchase something. Only one guy knew how the process worked. This was in January last year(2015) I believe. The rest of the staff watched as though it was a big deal but the guy making the sale was pretty excited lol.

I remember mining my bitcoins easily with two graphics cards in 2011 and selling about 18 bitcoins for £108 if I remember correctly. Since then and late 2013 I was so bitter and poisonous to the fact that the price had risen so much that I sounded very similar to the OP in this thread. I bought back in last year. If there is one thing I have learned is that you must sit tight and be patient. There will probably be many more price spikes to come as the price adjusts itself upwards. Bitcoin is a new technology that right now is in its infancy. As it grows stronger and more useful for many, so will the price grow. This just takes time.

To the OP, dont be bitter as I was about missing out on the opportunity, perhaps invest a bit and come back in a few years to reap the potential rewards. It only has to be a small sum of cash now to potentially make a substantial sum in the future. Bitcoin has so much potential and the fundamentals have not changed. This is a very disruptive technology and your emotions have no baring on its success. Either accept this or move on and stop reading forums about something you do not believe in.
8  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: August 06, 2014, 08:50:21 PM
Hi all, I have been using my Trezor for 2 days now and must give a big thanks to the developers for this awesome device! I have even made a quick video showing how easy it is to make transactions using this thing Smiley http://youtu.be/E6lEIlH6MR8

New hedge fund opened today, and defaults are sending stocks down.  BTC set to rise?  Thoughts?

Can you post a link to the hedge fund site please?

http://Http://Lmgtfy.com/?=GABI+bitcoin

Thanks, but my browser will not load that page. Is it just me, or is anyone else having problems loading it?

That link looks wrong, here is a link to their website http://www.globaladvisors.co.uk/ and here is a news article about it http://www.coindesk.com/first-regulated-bitcoin-investment-fund-launch-island-jersey/

The video on their website is quite informative so give it a watch.

Thank you for the kind offer but I wish to keep this as it is my first creation. Not to mention it cost me $85 to create Cheesy

Please also excuse the poor photos above, they were taken with my iphone. I have taken some better ones with my SLR camera. If you click the link below it will take you to full quality uploads on Flickr, Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm definitely thinking of doing these to sell. I'm looking onto to learning how to screen print so that I could produce a few runs and sell them here to other bitcoiners. I spent around £50 and that includes all of the currency, the photo frame and also the glue needed to stick the notes down. The notes are from Iraq, Afghanistan, China, India, Indonesia, Mosambique, Peru, Turkey, Brasil, CCCP, Yugoslavia, Egypt, Greece, Portugal, Vietnam, Austria, Guatamala, Honduras, Argentina, Russia, America.

I am waiting for a Zimbabwe 10 billion dollar note lol! They even have a 100 trillion dollar note! I live in the UK and when I get my hands on a clean crisp British pound note of some kind I will add that as well. I may even add some euro's in to the mix Cheesy I was also thinking of making a few of these and screen printing the message “At the end fiat money returns to its inner value—zero.” - Voltaire. When I was making this, it really got me thinking about how worthless fiat currencies are in most countries and how Bitcoin could really take over as a currency and store of wealth in these poorer countries. I have many ideas for some brilliant art pieces but just need to get my ass in gear Cheesy

Hi all, I spent today making a paper fiat collage Smiley I may at some point apply a screen print to it with the bitcoin logo. I created it to remind me how worthless paper fiat is. I hope you all enjoy.

14  Economy / Speculation / Re: In the eye of the storm.. on: June 17, 2014, 09:35:30 PM
I have noticed the same! There seems to be a more rapid uptake of bitcoin by bigger companies. For me it started with overstock.com and now others seem to be taking notice and picking it up too Cheesy Im getting ready for the rush and upsurge in price!
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the peak of the upcoming price surge. on: June 08, 2014, 09:16:55 PM
I think $4000 by december.
16  Other / Off-topic / Re: New song with reference to Bitcoin in it! on: June 07, 2014, 08:48:16 PM
Same here, its a good song though and hopefully the reference (although a bit negative) will get people to research in to Bitcoin and what it is and is about.
17  Other / Off-topic / New song with reference to Bitcoin in it! on: June 07, 2014, 07:31:06 PM
Hi all, I've been a long time lurker since 2011! I heard this song today on radio 1 in the United Kingdom, it had a reference to Bitcoin in it and this blew my mind. I can sense that we are slowly going mainstream! It was played on the UK's biggest radio station. Heres the link to the song!
