Vericoin's Market Cap spiked at over $2Milllion to finally settle at $1.8mil this morning. Uptrend continues with The Top 100 increasing their holdings 115,977 VRC over this period. With Bitcoin's price dipping and good progress from the Vericoin Community the Top 100 stakeholders increased their accumulation effort sthis period,while the majority of coin holders kept their coins off exchanges,directly affecting market price positively. Hey Joe,
I think the majority of stakeholders in this community view VeriCoin as a long term investment with real-world, global acceptance as the goal.
We have an amazingly transparent and dedicated Core Dev team, as well as many other supporting Developers driving innovation and our community is growing every day. Having dedicated developers that you can interact with on a daily basis is priceless imo.

Currently I'm comparing market movement, highlighting movement every 24 hour period.
I may do them daily or weekly from here on out, depending on how much movement we actually see.
This is the comment I was referring to: "the total coins staked for this period are 408 VRC." Should that read: "the total coins created by staking for this period are 408 VRC."? Got it, thanks for clarifying. Will make sure and update that on the next report. |

Wow, I'm not sure who sold yesterday but I can tell you for sure, the Top 100 didn't budge.  I improved my block report a bit, just sharing my research. This report shows all coin changes for the past 24 hours using data from the VRC the block explorer. Completely random question but is there any significance to the number of "active connections" displayed within the wallet? I am often between 2-5 connections and was wondering if it means anything? Perhaps more connections = greater chance of staking faster?

Not sure if you solved this problem, but I was having the same issue and now have over 31 active connections to the network. The issue for me was with my wireless router settings: Try this first. 1) check your router config/administration to see if UPnP is Enabled or available. Restart router/wallet/pc. This may solve your problem. Also check to see if you have a vericoin.conf file set up and using a text editor, see if the following supernodes are present in plain text. addnode=supernode.vericoin.info addnode=supernode2.vericoin.info addnode=supernode3.vericoin.info addnode=supernode4.vericoin.info addnode=supernode5.vericoin.info For me (linux/ubuntu) I also had to 2) manually set my IP address out of the DHCP range (was 192.168.1.1 through192.168.1.200) I manually set to 192.168.1.201 as an example. 3) enable port forwarding for port 58683 in router to this IP address. |

Okay, I deleted everything but the wallet.dat and dowloaded again, making sure bootstrap box was checked..... Still stuck trying to sync with 1000+ blocks remaining. FYI, I'm using the Windows download. Any suggestions, or should I just wait until the smoke clears and see what devs have to say once they get a better handle on this?
Yeah, dev's just announced a new wallet coming through the pipeline today. I think Linux compiles first, then Windows and Mac. Stay tuned. |

We are currently working on a new update to tighten up the fork, please stand by for new wallet later today.
