1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Watch out for Kano pool's 100% fees. on: November 28, 2019, 02:58:58 PM

*** The easiest-to-understand analogy I can give on how PPLNS works is how some employers used to withhold your first paycheck; however, even after you quit, you still get yet another paycheck--except with PPLNS, they would average how much you worked over the past five (5) weeks, for example. This is why the initial ramp-up scares miners into thinking they're not getting/losing part of their payout. It's just because they're probably still in the first 100% of the 500% look-back period and don't understand that even if they were to stop mining right then and there that they will still continue to get that same 1/5 payout for however many more blocks the pool finds over the next 400% (e.g. Four (4) more blocks = the remaining 4/5 of your reward).

Lastly, Kano is expecting to complete the accounting code and pay out dust by the end of this year. I'm sure the BTC is safe and sound until the time comes to pay it out. I wouldn't mine there if I didn't trust Kano.

Sincerely,
A Kano Shill

PPLNS is a scam since mining is diminishing returns.   The value of your hash power is lower when you are leaving a PPLNS pool than when you joined.  An extreme example would be you started in 2013 and then left 5 years later, you would of probably gave up a few BTC ramping up and then get junk after you left.

Anyway, did he ever write that dust giving code now that they don't find any blocks?  He could say it is live now since no way to prove if it is or not running.

So yes indeed it certainly must be "they don't care"

1 block in two months?  Do you even pool?    Maybe Slush can hire you to run their servers or something

It would be nice if the "big guys" understood this and stayed put, instead of foolishly losing money "grasshopping" pools or "gambling" luck...

And your site clearly demonstrates here they would earn more in the long run.

When a pool gets too low in hashrate then that is the worst gambling since the % difference per block is large.  (4/5 vs 5/5 is 20%.  99/100 vs 100/100 is 1%)

It's like a regular guy trying his luck at the high stakes table in a casino.  He can't ride the ups and downs of chance and can easily bottom out. (in miner terms, that's being short on your monthly electric bill instead of having the variance to work itself out during the month)

Last year the same thing started to happen here and Kano went out and paid big pool operators to avoid being in quicksand.  Seems it's back to that again.  Unless you are able to extend your timelines to years instead of weeks to even things out.  If you go too far then the reward halving will draw the line and then future luck ain't the same reward so you can only correct till that moment.

Dash was created based on distributed computer systems around the world. Dashcoin is also used for trading, buying commodities it is coin of cryptocurrency.

Zcash is eating its lunch
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Will Ethereum reach 1200 again? on: August 13, 2018, 11:14:34 PM
Ethereum should be valued once implementations take effect. One point that can raise the price is to set the max supply, with a clearer idea of that number it is easier to adjust the price.

nah,   ethereum hype was big when there wasn't much knowledge of other contract coins.. now there are many and with new improved features already running that eth just talks about.

people need eth less and less as each project seems to have its own favorite coin..  so now dapps take roll of pushing their newest shitcoin as 'solution' to the eth problem.

like yo, we know eth gas is a drag so we 'partnered' with POA so ya better get sum of that POA if you want to keep playing this game you already sunk your eth in..  sorry to tell you now but you really really should get this new coin so we can totally dump our frontrunning purchase on your ass

no to the moon anymore bro, many altcoins and bitcoin stuck even down so deep
we need wait for long time again to see many coins rise

should of parked lambo on last moon... doesn't look like any more coming soon... lost in space
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum has reached the historically lowest point of profitability per megahash on: August 13, 2018, 11:07:40 PM
Its actually reached the lowest profitability sometime last week when it was still >$300

Its getting pretty bad out there. Pretty much put away the old Radeon 7970/280X gpus and don't know if I will ever hash with them again.

Wondering if there are any more GPUs out there that still can make $1/per gpu/per day?

nah, in some ways it is ok to mine at a loss just so you are your own exchanger.  But only if it isn't much of a loss.. so you use what you have and take what you can get.   If you buy new gear now to mine it is total crazy.

The mining companies will keep making miners until total capitulation like gaming market in early 80's.   That is what the mining market look right now.  People will all have expensive heaters.  Miners bought 6 months ago are now tiny fraction of price. And the fools who are still mining all race to sell their few bits they mine.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is crypto bubble bursting finally? on: August 13, 2018, 10:57:12 PM
Still no real economy with alts..  even if many dapps come on line, then all that coin has to go pay for the people and gear to keep going.  So the money flow out faster than it come in. If it was a more full economy, then money would stay in crypto and be used more and more and grow.  Right now you get a surge in, then a slow bleed out.

And everyone still mining making new coins that don't just sit and look pretty.  They get sold or at least used and then sold by whoever you gave them to.

Crypt will only shoot up if you can pay most your bills in crypto and then whoever gets them do the same and make circle.

9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Drops Below $6,500 on: June 14, 2018, 02:44:45 AM
Crypto can go higher but it might spread out to whatever becomes the next useful crypto..  bitcoin will always be around but at some point money may get into crypto around it more and bypass it.  if eth will figure out how to scale correctly, then that may close the gap and you would see bitcoin maybe 7000 and eth 3000 on next uptrend

also the miner glut is getting ridiculous...  not even worth getting a miner for free now unless you can do hocus pocus on your bottom line to still make gains

How much power are you going to get out of your solar setup?  Will it be enough to run one miner at least?

I didn't think the math made any sense for the northeast to bother with solar with costs associated to it (either leasing or buying)

11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My review of Avalon 841 . on: May 01, 2018, 02:01:26 AM
Phil,  great work and vids but you can really make use of the north east cool weather by pointing the intakes to an open window with a small fan (computer case fan) between the intake and the screen of the window for each miner.  The fans will bring in cool air and really run these at low temps.  The miner fans will run 50% or lower (I keep the fans to 50% min just in case)

Soon I will flip the miners around and just blow the hot air out the windows and use your voltage underclocks if need be

Would be great to heat the pool with these

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how to distinguish the good ico, ico scam on: April 07, 2018, 12:05:14 PM
The only ICO that won't scam you is the one you create
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Masari coin speculation on: April 07, 2018, 11:57:52 AM
why do you sit on hands holding a coin hoping it go up instead of producing things and getting paid in the coin and use it to gain wealth from your own work and not wait and hope supply/demand make fiat value of a coin go up?  (lucky dart throw)

You talk of 'good community' like what hell is this anyway if it only attract speculative holders and no actual users?

In other words.. if you don't use the coin yourself why would anyone else? You must ask this and understand that something like Bitcoin Cash went up because Bitmain forced people to use it to buy miners.. like petrodollar.  Perhaps same to say with Eth and Krypto Kitties

You need an ecosystem that is real to make value go up so if you want ANY coin to rise you should work on making a product and then you can pick whatever shitcoin you want and you be the king maker and that coin will rise

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much is your altcoin down since January? on: April 07, 2018, 11:46:26 AM
50 percent is a minimum loss every one are suffering right now

How can everyone lose and no one win?

It is a zero sum game

HODL for LAMBO
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum's Price on: April 07, 2018, 11:26:21 AM
Let's see...  ICOs say give me money via ETH so hopeful people buy ETH and it goes up and then hand it over for ICOs..  then the ICO man, he wants his cash money so he sells ETH and it go down...

what don't you understand?  That the ICO train didn't go to 100 gagillion yet?  The SEC watchdogs called their posse to attack and it drained the fun and now look at how they run

18  Economy / Speculation / Re: 17 april 2018 Bitcoin stop to fall on: April 07, 2018, 11:08:44 AM
people don't know crap about taxes.. everything doesn't stop April 17th.   Extensions happen for those that pay so it will drag out for months.

Soros might pump it soon like he did the gold/silver miners a few years ago..  just be ready to jump and sell once the next pump peaks

19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 05, 2018, 03:49:07 AM
If more mainstreamers knew how and were able to short then you would get a nice bull run short squeeze...   as such you don't have enough suckers on that side like you do on the long side so you only get short spikes followed by long stair falling price action
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening again. Bitcoin price went under $7,000 on: April 05, 2018, 03:39:41 AM
All wealth evaporating as credit dries up...  all assets sink around the world
