1  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: January 09, 2022, 05:47:43 AM
I wonder when the price of Bitcoin will reach $ 100k +.

I think this year Bitcoin took a beating with the mix of China + India FUD articles, but also saw nice gains from more adoption + awareness.
Look on the bright side, we now have Crypto.com Arena and Sofi Stadium. Like them or hate them, it helps spread the word in a positive manner. There are obviously many more catalysts for Bitcoin, some much bigger but these are just an example.
Although 2021 put us in a weird spot, as a long-term HODLer I am not even phased. I'll continue to buy the dip while following Bitcoin's progression closely. High or Low, I get more excited about Bitcoin's journey more than the daily price.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc is boring on: January 07, 2022, 12:51:07 PM
OP is not going to make it, he really isn’t. Investing is all about conviction & patience, very few people get rich quick. You need to be willing to buy bitcoin & hold it for years. If you can’t stand the heat then get out of the kitchen because bitcoin isn’t for you.

I completely agree. I've learned over time that I got into Bitcoin for the wrong reasons, but stayed for the right ones. To me, Bitcoin is bigger than just making a profit, but at the same time, generational wealth is very much a part of that plan. It would be wise to DCA and stay in it long term. The market is unpredictable, but if history tells us anything, Buy & HODL. When in doubt, zoom out!
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When and how did you discover Bitcoin? on: December 23, 2021, 01:54:40 PM
So how about you, when and how did you discover bitcoin? What were your initial thoughts?  Did you think negatively of it at first discovery and change your mind, or did you always think it was a great idea?

I first discovered Bitcoin back in 2013. Thought the idea of a digital currency was cool but never really got around to looking into it. 2016/2017 rolls around and this time, I decided to get involved. Without having done much research, I opened a Binance account and purchased about $100 of Bitcoin when it was valued at around $7,000. Once Bitcoin rose to about 18k I sold what I had (big regret) and moved on from crypto. 2020 comes around and finally, I decided to fully commit. Before reinvesting, I studied for about 2 or 3 months to make sure I had a good understanding of what the problem is, and why Bitcoin is the solution. I started following some subreddits for a while and this year, joined this forum.
Finally, I have found a community that I feel very much a part of. I continue to stack sats when possible, I have no plans on selling my Bitcoin since I finally see the potential. Yes I jumped in pretty late, yes I feel regret all the time for not keeping even the little that I had then.

But in all fairness, there was a lesson to be learned here. I'm in it for many different reasons now, most of those reasons are about being able to give back to those who are in need of assistance, share what I've learned with others, and encourage them to also get involved in Bitcoin. There are much better reasons to get involved with Bitcoin than this of course, it provides financial opportunities to those who would have otherwise been trapped.
