1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cgminer parameters? on: May 04, 2013, 06:11:12 AM
cgminer doesn't support CPU mining any longer according to the documentation I have read. I have not been able to find an old version that does.
Anyway the old versions will probably only support get-work which is being phased out in favor of stratum mining, so you would need to set up a stratum proxy server (not difficult).
You could also look for old vesions of guiminer and see which underlying miners are included in the package - poclbm, diable, phoenix, etc.

n00bwastaken if you find it, would you post back?
3  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer - GPU0: invalid nonce - HW error on: May 03, 2013, 01:40:46 PM
12.8 seems to have done the trick for radeon 6950 invalid nonce errors. Now I can use cgminer, which is where I wanted to be in the first place.

Thanks, Zanatos666!

clocked to 935, 375 MH/s, temp 57. Not fully tuned yet. Phoenix claimed 415 MH/s at 925 clock and 56 degrees. unstable when clocked to 950.

Having the same problem with a 6950 calling cgminer directly from DOS box in Win7Pro.

Try using BTCGuild's version of GUIMiner and configure it to use anything other than cgminer, e.g. Phoenix with phatk2 kernel.

also see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=139406.0 - may be a bug in cgminer
specifically see rs77063 reply of 2013-02-04 00:12:18 re Phoenix works, cgminer doesn't

Note: I use cgminer on most of my other miners and I love it. I use GUIMiner (BTCGuild's) on one machine that has a 5970 with one GPU burned out. Can't get cgminer to ignore GPU1.

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: April 13, 2013, 07:07:50 PM
If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum. Reasons such as "I'm not a spammer" will be ignored. Try to be as specific as possible.

If you learned of Bitcoin through a currently established member of this forum who feels that you are ready to be released to the rest of the forum or who is willing to mentor you, or if you want to make a new account that is separate from your already-existing established forum account, have the existing user/account vouch for you after you have made your request.

If you are asking to be whitelisted because you are having a problem with something, we generally look more favorably on people who have already attempted to solve their issue in the Newbie board. Even if you end up not qualifying for preemptive whitelisting, your post might still qualify for being moved to another board if you have received insufficient help after a few hours.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Please note: If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements and don't need to post here. Additionally, after you meet the requirements, it can take up to 10 minutes for your account to be automatically upgraded.

I would like to be white listed, at least for a couple of days. I have been a Bitcoin Forum member since July, 2011. I have been mining BTC for more than two years. My post count is low because I don't believe in making vacuous posts (most posts here and other places tend to be). I rarely need to log in. I want to do the free Ripple thingie (Bitcoin Forum > Other > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Re: Ripple Giveaway!), but can't post since I am a "newbie".

I see that if you disagree with the moderator, your post gets deleted. Very sensible.

so you are encouraging facile replies like this one just to get over the newbie hump. Try looking at the length of time the user has been registered as well.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SCAM Alert! Bitclockers.com stopped payouts and their admins don't answer on: March 05, 2013, 02:17:18 AM
Still have 9 BTC not paid out. Instant payout gives blank screen. No e-mail response from admins. Moved over to MtRed for now, but P2Pool sounds good. Glad I paid out every week or so. It does seem to be a scam. Anyone know their physical address so I can contact their state's Attorney General?

BTW, can't connect to the Bitclockers miner any more. Haven't been able to for a few weeks. So how do they get 34.34GH/s right now? Not believable.

Have you received it yet or received notice of shipment? February has come and gone.

from http://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage/4-5gh-bitcoin-miner.html
Bitforce SC (ASIC) products are in final stage development with initial shipping scheduled for the last half of February 2013. Products are shipped according to placement in the order queue.
