1  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Crypto Collectibles Pyramid - Which sits at the top? on: Today at 03:26:17 PM
A personal grail for me, would be the entire Squirrelbits collection. From the early try-outs made out of empty soda cans Tongue, to the magnificence of todays pieces.

GrtzTank

That would be a very difficult task, but a fun one to undertake. Too many custom 1 of 1s, 1 of 2s, prototypes, raffle prizes only, 3 piece sets... list goes on and on. and no physical list to actually look at (Yoda probably has one)

I can say that I have every standard /21 release from 2022 - current, but had to bow out on the low mintage pieces as I'm just a peasant out here collecting cans for my btc.

2  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MrHodLClub - CHECK YOUR FUNDING! on: June 12, 2024, 02:27:50 AM
after all these years it is so difficult to understand what's happening or you just pretend not to understand? 😊
seriously man, try google ponzi

After all these years on the forum, don’t you realize how extremely lazy buyers are (100%including yourself stackitup lol) ? There’s absolutely nothing Ponzi about this situation, 1Hodlclub is a stand up guy. tons of people purchased stuff from him and never reported receiving items, there for they were not loaded, there is ZERO reason to attack this creator about this Particular situation. Pro-tip:Do your due diligence and Check your shit when it shows up and request it to be loaded, End of story. Honestly, I think it’s sad that he had to post on his website that he’s no longer loading items due to a majority of buyers not contacting him.The man had to start protecting himself. Buyers forget, that’s not his fault, for examples, as for myself between Grading, won Auctions and Escrow coins with MJ I couldn’t tell you within 10 coins how many coins I have floating out there right now, or if they’re loaded or not. Could be $2k worth of stuff or $20k I don’t really know, but MJ does. This is for a majority of us a side hobby,  we all have real life stuff going on and it’s not always top priority. So go to his website, support his creations, and sleep easy knowing now that none of them come loaded so there’s nothing for anyone  to bitch about now.

Personally I verify all my items are funded & record them & track them forever with my tracker app so I agree that everyone should do that.

My problem with MrHoDlUrFundZ is he knows he’s got a shit ton more bitcoin in his wallet than he should since he is a “businessman”.  He knows he has loyal customers who have unloaded coins & he likely knows which buyers don’t check their addys for funding but continued to sell to them for years.  The guy I originally tried to get help with his dozens of unfunded coins did write this “businessman” to confirm receipt & even later asked that he check all his coins had been funded.  When the buyer figured out how to verify his funds weren’t loaded with the tracker app I shared with him, MrHodL then took his sweet ass time & passed several time frames he agreed on to actually fund the coins.  It would be a stand up guy’s (as you refer to him) priority to fund that shit immediately! And how about sum free shit for the trouble since the OP gave many unfunded coins to frens & family & now he has to ask for them back to fund them! How fuckin embarrassing when he did confirm receipt of the coins!

There are more problems with this seller that certain collectors refuse to bring to light (keys don’t match cough cough) & MrHodLUrFundZ pre-locking his for sale posts & blocking members on Twitter bc he knows he has nothing to defend himself with besides lame cat & cowboy memes & poor understanding of English language 😂

✌️Yoda

In my dealings with 1hodlclub, he is not that organized. Who knows what/how much btc he has needed to use at any given time in life. Did he keep a seperate wallet specifically for funding as one should?? I always sent my payment and funding at the same time and same address. So to say he has knowledge of what/how much is owed to who is a huge misjudgment. I'm sure he looked at it as free btc and those people should have reached out (they should have... and verified). And that he could easily just fund it at any time with his personal btc as he was selling out 210 mintage releases in days. But market cooling off and btc dying then rising again makes it much harder to fix now... since we all know he didn't keep funding and sales bitcoin seperate.

I don't believe he's a scammer, just unorganized and may just be hard to fix all these funding issues if he doesn't have a stash of btc somewhere (i hope he does!)

If people would actually check their coins, I'm sure there will be more that are owed bitcoin... All of my pieces are of course funded, as I did the work to make sure they were
3  Economy / Collectibles / Re: I'm surprised this hobby and genre of crypto collectibles isn't more popular on: June 10, 2024, 04:17:06 AM
Well, look at the loudest people in the room and see how they speak about the hobby? They definitely aren't helping. They are probably lying leviathan spirits at best. Be careful who you associate and believe out there. Leviathan spirits lie and try to influence those around them to believe the lies. Then they kill spirits of others. The world is running wild with them right now. Its always the ones who speak ill of others yet never create, lift people up in the hobby or give to help benefit others, but boy do we get to here their "educated" negative opinions. I'm just glad I get to irritate the little demons with my presents and "Shine MY Light On The Battlefield"! Grin Moving on!

I don't view my pieces as collectables (even though they are or will be, because of what they are) as much as I view them as tools of freedom. I think people are extremely  undervaluing open cold storage pieces too. We haven't had an event yet that would demand them, but I can see it manifesting.

I'm making pieces now that I wish someone would have made for me to acquire a decade ago. The truth is, Caribbean Treasures pieces are some of the most economical, authentic, territorial peer to peer trade units on the market. To some its a collectable, to others its a barter system currency that provides precious metals, blockchain access and or access to bitcoin on the blockchain.  If you can score a silver cold storage piece for under $100, that is a win in my book. I think OG has a 3-coin set that a pretty cheap, but they still have to pay $168.00 entry price for them. $120 for a single.  $25-$85 is better entry for people. The whole point is having exchangeable units in cold storage, not weight of a metal. I like OGs pieces and own them, but his pieces would do better if they were to serve the customer more. Most people aren't going to type up a public key on a coin. We need to make it easier for people to do. Thats why the adoption of using more QR codes is happening. Id focus more on the security and ease of use for people rather than making a pretty picture too. A lot of people are intimidated by bitcoin and will find it annoying if they have to take 2 min worth of time to type in a public key that they will probably type in incorrectly the first time around anyway. I can hear their frustration now.....as they walk away.

I believe cold storage on precious metals will perform very well, others seem to have little faith.  If you can't afford my $65 and $85 silver built pieces, I have some even more economical pieces in copper coming soon.  Wink I think these "territorial" fractional trade units will perform similar to how private territorial pieces have performed over the last 100 years. This is without the bitcoin value attached. Then you have the more cartoony themed pieces on cheaper metals and I believe they will perform more closely to how commemoratives / Hard time tokens performed over the last 100 years. My 2 sats.

Its not hard guys! When at all time highs, Sell physical for dollars. When we crash down, buy bitcoin with the dollars. It just depends on what you are trying to get. Buy the rare cold storage pieces at all time highs. Sell them when it crashes for more bitcoin. If you have questions just ask.

I came into the hobby long ago (2011) when bitcoin wasn't about making any money, it was about using a better system. I was an "END THE FED" Ron Paul campaigner 2008-2012 who talked to people on their door steps about individual liberty, monetary policy and sound money. I still do this from time to time. Just this week I have introduced 12 people to physical bitcoins that knew little about it before. Gifting physical pieces is my "love language" and I do it as often as I can afford to. The spark and interest it builds up in them is great to see. We need more people doing this. Also, the more governments try to dissolve privacy, the more people will move our way.....its a tool remember that, a freedom tool.

If you don't believe you can profit off silver pieces that you can acquire right now for under $100 is pretty funny. People will eventually wish they could get them for under $100, Just like most pieces built before them are now hard to find under $500 redeemed.

I too try to have 1 of everything Mopar! I'm a little behind on the newer items. We need a new updated encyclopedia. I remember buying redeemed brass pieces from $100-150. Thats still a good buy if you ask me. Thats why I like $65 silver built pieces even more Wink

I think the way we are moving and how world events are merging to a currency crisis, we will soon see people fleeing dollars and seeking protection and freedom outside the system. We will see them move into bitcoin, real estate, gold and silver. We will be seeing new all time highs on collectables too. All the dollars that aren't in the USA i believe will be coming back to our shores to buy what they can. Be ready.......because physical silver and gold bitcoin storage pieces will be hotttt!

We are early!

When people seek freedom, they will find silver and gold cold storage pieces. I think we are on the verge of a whole new generation of truth and freedom seekers. People are tried of being lied to, losing privacy, losing freedom and being spiritually dead. Ultimate freedom is finding God! It is an exciting time to be alive.

Also, when you have events like FTX and Coldkeys hurting people, it will damage peoples view of our hobby for awhile. Whether it be bitcoin in general or cold storage pieces. I remember people buying at $65,000 and then it crashed down to $16,000, They stopped buying at these cheap prices because they got hurt.

There is a couple groups on facebook that I know of, (Send PM if you want in) but I don't think we will be able to find a small group of people trading physical bitcoins we have never seen before in the mountains somewhere, even though that would be amazing. I'm sure most all have an online presents. Let me know if you find more groups.

TLDR - FFS

In case nobody got it, when I talk about snake oil salesman not to be trusted, I’m talking about this guy. From price gouging to bullshitting con artist - CT has it all. Wouldn’t be surprised if he bids up his own items on Stacks and Bowers. He can wine and dine the coin council to gain acceptance, but us in the know saw his fake CAS holos that he placed on real CAS coins for some reason!!!!?!??!? Who would do that and still think their “brand” is worth a shit. Joined forces with Patrick Hakim who’s awaiting his day in court (330k stolen)

Stick to old trusted producers - not snake oil salesman bumping their own post and charging outrageous prices for their piece of shit “collectibles” - if you chat with this guy and think he exudes confidence in his keys - then I assume Patrick Hakim got you too cuz they act exactly the same. Talk about building the hobby while screwing new collectors.

(See how much shorter a response is when you don’t try to twist words around to confuse people)
4  Economy / Collectibles / Re: I'm surprised this hobby and genre of crypto collectibles isn't more popular on: June 09, 2024, 09:45:17 PM
I think it is the prices being put on collectibles - feels like a bubble that is going to pop and soon. Premiums are getting insane.

Because of this and for some, collectibles may not make much sense financially - if you are buying any collectible with Bitcoin - you most likely will never profit - you will not be able to sell it for more BTC than you paid. And if you are buying with Fiat you would profit better to simply buy and hodl Bitcoin.

That and most sellers are charging premiums thru the roof. You have makers who are new "buy hey I only made 21 so 20x premiums make sense"  --- It really doesn't. But those makers will still have buyers who buy out of fomo or who dont really care about the premiums and just like the piece.

In my opinions when premium was in the 10%-25% range or even as high as 50%, there was a lot more traffic. But 1000% premiums and up tends to slow traffic.

I see 10g silver coins being sold for around 100 or more in USD. Or 1 oz being sold for $500 plus but hey, there is only 50 or less so "super rare".

Those prices make sense to me for older and well established makers. Makes zero sense to me for the new ones. That said, I sometimes also still buy at these crazy rates. Many do. I just think it is lower with the higher premiums being demanded.

Heck, I just paid around $500 for a non precious metal coin with $15 in BTC because it was 1 of 5 made. It happens. lol

I agree - the people buying these "limited mintage" grams of precious metals, new producer who's a snake oil saleman.. yeah yeah yeah they will never get their money back. I also have to agree that I would have WAY MORE $$$ AND BTC if I would have just bought btc instead of collectibles... but some of us are just addicts

This coin is something a bit special - very nice.

The coin is still loaded for the last 10 years and its load value today is $7130 not including
all the forked values also.

I suggest getting in touch with minerjones if you havent already and get some advice on
the best route to take. I guess that best route will require a little work on your side to make sure
it gets to its destination safely.

Good luck anyway?

Here are a few other auctions/sales of similar 0.1 silver coins, ranges from $9000 to $48000,
all graded though.

what a pity that the items were not auctioned here in the forum  Sad

when a CI gearing set goes for less than melt at a forum auction - it doesn't give people any confidence in getting the right bids here.

and by less than melt... I am talking btc value and silver value. Which is CRAZY!

my only complaint is Scarce City charges sales tax on these purchases. Completely forgot about that but an extra 8% adds up. I'll still bid tho and did bid. Everything else went flawless except Yoda stealing my Primal CI coin set lol (if anyone has one for sale, specifically just the BTC one... I'm a buyer)

Hey man Smiley if you don't mind, what was your top bid on the btcc proof? I bid 425k sats in last few seconds, your proxy bid was the same as my bid and then the auction ended.

Seems like a bug or something, not asking you about that of course, asking the scarce guys.

Shouldn't that proxied bid have been greater than my bid? and why wasn't the auctions time extended when I placed that last bid that was countered via proxy? Thanks guys!

I set my max bid to 425k sats. When you bid, you tied me, but since my bid was placed first, I was still in the lead (also why I like the max bid option).

Full disclosure: I went in and placed another max bid... so you wouldn't have won unless you went much higher.

Thanks man, you placed that second max bid before I bid though right? Because the auction ended right after I placed my bid, where it seems it should have been extended to allow me to counter your proxied counter to my 425k bid if I wanted to, you know. Congrats on the snag  Cheesy only questioning the process here.

Must have been on your end as I literally watched it count down and end again, 5 minutes later.

I can also say, it did not end. It restarted at 5 mins and counted down again. It ended 5 minutes later, slightly after the CI Primal set, with no other bids
8  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Planning to sell my 0.1 casascius coin. Unredeemed. I have no idea how on: May 30, 2024, 11:44:26 PM
Hey. I have Casascius 0.1 Bitcoin coin.
I purchased it from a large reseller of Casascius long time ago when Bitcoin was worth 1700€.

Its in the original (re-sealable?) plastic. Its not been graded by grading company.

I can load photos to here but before I do that I want to make sure I understand this correctly:

1. It's ok to share photo of the hologram with the partial address / code it has?
2. How to load photos here safely?
3. How to sell here safely? I read about using an escrow but the basic concept of it feels very risky.

Thank you.

1. yes you can upload pictures of the hologram and first bits (partial code) without worry. That would let us verify that it is loaded as that is the first letters of the bitcoin address. zero risk

2. Just take photos and upload them to an app like imgur. its in the appstore and free to use. again - zero risk

3. Escrow works in a couple ways. You can send the item to Miner Jones. Packaged extremely durable, think box inside of a box.  Each box labeled and heavy duty packageing tape all around the item. He will recieve it an auction it here. Or you can auction it here. Winner sends the bitcoin to Miner Jones, you ship the item to winner, Miner Jones sends you the bitcoin once item is recieved.

DO NOT TALK TO ANY MINER JONES ON ANY OTHER MESSAGING SERVICE SUCH AS TELEGRAM - ONLY USE FORUM MESSAGE SYSTEM - That is the only way to safely confirm that you are taking to the true real and trustworthy Miner Jones

4. you could give it to Elianite in Finland.. but easy isn't always best and definitely won't get you the most $$$ for your coin

first step is pics tho - and to price how much it costs to ship to the United States, as alot of us buyers are here.

Has anyone peeled their coin yet? I'm tempted lol

Have not and will not. I wouldn't destroy a collectible. Plus as long as the bitcoin remains unclaimed, there will always be some "lotto ticket" value added. and say it is claimed, then the value will remain with it being a collectible limited mintage and original holo from a great physical crypto artist

To very impressive sales on eBay this week,  im very exited about the .01 Lealana sale price

Casascius sale price :  https://www.ebay.com/itm/196292516496

Lealana Sale price:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/226043006256

I have the email address of Mida on ebay... If anyone wants to connect with him and purchase outside of ebay (taxes and fees).  Do so at your own risk, as I cannot speak to the trust of the seller (although I believe trustworthy), but I can say that the email address came directly from that seller.
