Airflow is bad. I'm afraid I can't fix that much. Already have two home fans.

Still don't know how to increase fan speed on gfx... 3000 RPM is low.

After you get better airflow you probably want to save those cards by flashing them with an optimized bios. There is a guy on the LTC forums named The Stilt that seems to be very talented at that. Here is the thread: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=12369.0 all you need to do is search it for your card, download the optimized bios and flash each one. I guarantee that you will have much less heat produced by doing this one thing alone.

Just to give you an idea of what it will do, I also have a bunch of R9 280x sapphires. When I ran them stock the temps were like you said and the VRM (voltage regulators) were almost 120 degrees. After the Bios flash my VRMs run 65 degrees and the cards stay nice and cool at about 55-65 degrees. With 725Kh/s each..

Thank you for advice. Do you have any of Sapphire R9 280x Dual-X (Lite retail)? I will try to find new BIOS.

Hi guys,

I have four Dual-X cards with overheating problem. Room temperature is big, but fans on the cards does not exceed 3010 RPM. Temperatures on the cards are from 77C to 83C.

My configuration:

-p x --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 2 -I 13 -w 256 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 30-100 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-overheat 85 --temp-target 72 --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1067 --gpu-powertune -20 2>>logfile.txt

My card:

Hashrate is app. 710 Kh/s

Ysterday temperature was arround 90C, one card up to 95C!

Any idea how to save my RIG?
