Professional servers, Enterprise hosting infrastructure doesn't come cheap (not for my/our requirements anyway!) and is paid on a per monthly basis however economy of scales means paying bi-annually makes for the best cost Vs. return on the packages..
So, based on that info I think that you can work out a rough time line from that statement alone. If i thought it was months away I would have waited another month (or longer) before paying for the service rental.

Hopefully my statement does not sound dramatic or offending.
1) Terms like Professional servers and Enterprise hosting infrastructure are not the same as they used to be 10 years ago. You don't need dedicated server for 1K in USD per month. You don't need to pay for hosting time but for hosting resources like CPU, RAM, IO, etc. Some instances, like the AWS micro, are free for the first year. Others are cheaper than a box of cigarettes. It's more or less "resource-based" economy with regard to the cloud hosting. But you most probably know this better than me.
2) Currently you are developing in testing / staging mode, right? This environment does not require special resources unless you are competing with NASA. The env that requires resources is the production one, but that's not the case.
Then WTF are these expenses you are talking about?

Cheap VPS servers are good for low load websites and apps, thats about it.
You get what you pay for that is for sure!
