1  Economy / Computer hardware / Bitcoin Miners for sale. Avalon 1166 qty:3, Antminer S19pro on: September 27, 2022, 04:19:01 AM
I have some miners that I wish to sell due to some unforseen personal financial issues (Job loss).  I have 3 Caanan Avalon 1166 (79TH, 81TH and 81TH).  2 of the units have blown PSUs (A spike at the host farm caused this) and should be relatively easy to fix.  The Antminer S19j (104TH) is currently hosted at the farm but can be transferred either physically or the new owner takes on a new lease at the farm (North Carolina).  The 3 Caanan units are available for immediate shipping.  I haven't had the funds or time to repair the PSUs (this is a presumption but from what I gather is the very likely cause).

Make me a reasonable offer (US$/BTC) if interested.  We can discuss.
2  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do you think that Bitcoin is more worth buying than the ASICs? on: January 04, 2022, 07:48:05 AM
This calculator is wrong.  It assumes you pay for your miner in BTC.  However if you pay fiat then the increasing of BTC/$ pricing means that you can pay your miner back sooner because of inflation of the $.  Bottom line, buy your miner in fiat, accumulate BTC and then convert to fiat to pay it off.  The assumption is that BTC price vs $ increases over time.

This calculator will give you an idea of the variables that will affect whether mining can be profitable.

3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S19j Pro 104t Reliability? on: January 04, 2022, 07:17:21 AM
From a newbies perspective, I've had my S19J Pro (104TH) for about 2 months professionally hosted with a proper team, cooling, power, etc.  It's crapped out and one of the hash boards seems to be faulty (it could be a psu or the like).  So it looks like it's going to have to go in for warranty repair which is 2+ week turnaround.   Not happy with this quality for such an expensive machine.
