1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Lions and Tigers and API oh my !!!HELP!!! on: July 12, 2014, 02:11:06 AM
Bit of a newbie here needing some help on how to integrate api into my project.

I am in the process of creating a new bitcoin game that is more skill based and less gambling.
I would like for two users to be able to wager bitcoins in a winner takes all game. Minus a small fee.

So in detail what im looking for is a way to set up each player with a address then allow them to make deposits then make wagers before the game begins and then get paid their winnings when the game is over. I know this is probably an old subject but ive been looking for hours and am starting to go cross-eyed here.

What would be the best source for this API
Also in as much detail what is the best method to set it up?

Any help is greatly appreciated hopefully I will be able to bring a beautiful new bitcoin app to the maket in the near future

I will be working on sending tips out today you are on the list pete. Latium is fairly new still but they seem to be taking off and gaining some speed. you cant go wrong with free coin it only takes a minute to get it.

Angry This is what I got from you on twitter:

Quote
Here is a 20.00 Dogecoin tip @thebitbaby Claim it here http://cryptiv.com/tx/social/62174d5c-62a4 … you get the rest after verifying your account

As far as some of the reports show, this is site is fake!!, the coins they give in your account can not be withdrawn and I am not going to waste my time making my account there.

I can assure you it is not fake I have already withdrawn 800dogecoin from them and you can also withdraw your bitcoin after it exceeds the inital .0001 but I prefer to use it for tipping its great to tip. The social tipping for it works very well on twitter, twitch.tv, and reddit. If you would like I can even send you the transaction ID on dogechain.info also you can ask squidoogeek above if he has withdrawn his yet
This seems to be legit. At least, the tip is in my (brand-new) Cryptiv account right now. I won't be able to withdraw for a few hours from the looks of it, but I've already got 520 DOGE sitting there too. (Pretty cool that you can tip using Twitter handles.)

the only problems right now is that they are still performing some beta testing so from time to time the site will undergo some maintenance but other than that it works perfect. DON'T KNOCK IT BEFORE YOU TRY IT.

Its really more than 10000 satoshi you also get 520 dogecoin. plus its more than you can make from a faucet in a day or two just for 2mins of your time
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WHO WANTS 10,000 SATOSHI? on: June 28, 2014, 04:18:10 PM
Same as everyone I want to know what's the catch behind this but I don't mind telling my twitter handle, it's @thebitbaby

If you want followers the minimum going around price is 0.0011 BTC

Funny offer and I'll agree that 10,000 Satoshi is not all that much. I could pick up a little more than that just from hitting the faucets hard for a couple of days, but maybe we could get something going where we just all agree to follow each other on Twitter. I'm at @Squidoogeek

Your tips have been sent just follow the instructions on twitter to receive your coin
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WHO WANTS 10,000 SATOSHI? on: June 28, 2014, 04:13:35 PM

anywho i did get two names so far. so @bitbaby and @squidoogeek im working on yours now check your twitter soon for more information

I have compiled a list of over 80 bitcoin faucets if anyone is interested. as you have probably read in the debate above they are great for newbies who dont want or cant afford to invest in coin so you can play around with some free coin but idealy not worth the time for making profit unless you use them a lot then do some trading on exchange sites or get lucky gambling either way my site is in my signature if anyones interested in a lot of faucets. it shows the wait time the amount and the site. ive also listed games, exchange sites, wallets, some mining and other things as well
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: huge faucet list on: June 17, 2014, 03:37:17 AM
Faucets are generally a waste of time.

i disagree i think faucets let people who are still skeptics have a chance to get some free coin and become a part of the community before they invest into it. if it wasn't for faucets i probably wouldn't have got in to cryptocurrency at all.

but i can see where some people say that they are a waste of time because you will most definitely not get rich with faucets or even make a profit worth mentioning BUT If you want to test the waters and play some games or even get the hang of some exchange sites then faucets can provide you with some free coin to do it without any risk

so are faucets useless.... no
are they profitable.... no
do they allow new users to become a part of the community without risk YES!
I HAVE  CURRENTLY MADE OVER $100 DOLLARS AND I HAVEN'T INVESTED ONE RED CENT IN BITCOIN

You are correct to say that faucets can help a user understand how bitcoin works and get a very little bitcoin in the process.

Financially speaking they are not a good use of time.

You say that you have made over $100 in bitcoin without investing (I assume you mean haven't purchased any bitcoin with you own fiat money). First I say good for you, I am glad you are making money. Second I ask how much time did you have to invest in faucets to get that much bitcoin (I assume that is where you earned your bitcoin from)? Could you have potentially gotten a 2nd job earning minimum wage, if so how much would you have earned if you spent the same amount of time at that 2nd job?

no the 100 bucks wasn't from bitcoin faucets lol your right that would have taken forever however it was related to faucets it is a combination of using faucets, playing games with strategy, doing some exchange and being part of the community and earning tips/donations in the combined effort my balance for btc now stands at 0.20016144 BTC or $119.01 as of this moment. time invested is probably equal to about 75 total hours (but it wasn't completely work it included a lot of reading and learning) as far as time goes then yes i could have earned far more than that at a real job even at minimum wage the time ive spent on faucets probably is still under 20 totaled hours but the places they have led me and the sites they have allowed me to enjoy are where faucets really help. i can honestly say that i would have never invested in bitcoin as a newbie it still seems a risky and unstable at the moment to any newbie. bit i am proof that faucets work and you can turn a miniscule amount into something larger.

I just think faucets are a decent stepping stone to help get newbies interested in bitcoin and if you can find a large list of them in one place it helps immensely. i had to scavenge search engines when i started lol  but hey to each their own good luck and godspeed to all bitcoiners

Play some games are a nice idea, i've not really seen any faucets that like you play games, they are mostly just enter the captcha get a small amount of BTC. What if you had a simple game to possible win more/ or maybe lose, but you still get something..... and not a casino or a dice game site, no accounts, no chance of bettering more. Just a faucet with something fun to do on it.

I do have one site listed like that on the bitcoin faucet page on my site it is #1 at the bottom of the page and after you use the faucet you get the chance to play a game and multiply your faucet amount by up to 30x
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Faucets and their place in bitcoin on: June 16, 2014, 01:39:08 AM
What good are faucets?

I've seen some debate about faucets lately that has sparked a question. As a faucet list owner I can't help but to feel that I am in some way subliminally biased towards thinking faucets are a good thing. I've been trying to speculate on the subject for some time now and can't help but wonder. Would I have ever gotten in to bitcoin without them? Without earning some free satoshi (and a very small sense of accomplishment) from faucets I can't honestly say that I would be here today. I feel that faucets are wonderful in their own way. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but, the value of bitcoin is determined by how much value we put in it. If only a few hundred people use bitcoin then it isn't very valuable because so little people find value in it. If hundreds of thousands or even millions of people use bitcoin then it is of more value because of the community that use it. So in turn the more people that use bitcoin the more valuable it is.

So it seems only logical to me that faucets are a valuable asset to bitcoin. If I were to tell a stranger that there is a digital currency that they should invest in because its popularity is growing and value is rising there is a slight possibility that they may become a part of the community. If I told that same stranger the same thing except instead of telling them to invest I was to tell them they could get some for free I would imagine the probability of them looking further into the subject would be greater. So it seems logical to offer faucets to attract new people to the community and allow them a chance to test the cryptocurrency waters without risk. In turn they may become a active part of bitcoin (like me) and help increase its value.

If all of this is true then why would anyone claim that faucets are a complete waste of time and, compel other users not to use them?

I do understand the fact that faucets are not profitable by theirself and, the amount of time it takes to get a whole bitcoin out of them would be extremely long. Still I can't help but think that they are a important stepping stone to inviting new people to the community.

i know how you feel i spent almost 18 months looking for a job i actually had to move to a different state to get work. times can be very tough right now. if i could i would like to direct you to my site he can spend time visiting faucets and earn very little with that but its a start from there you can do your homework and get in to investing and cloud mining. i believe if your willing to do the homework and put in the effort like its a real job then you can make money at it. there is really no such thing as easy money imo even online you have to work hard to be sucessful

i have section for beginners and to get you started in the right direction
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: newbie on: June 15, 2014, 06:59:30 PM
welcome you can try cloud mining, or if your lucky gambling lol otherwise you can earn very small amounts with faucets. or maybe you have time to do exchange. there is also affiliate sites that reward you for bringing them customers. check my signature ive compiled a list of all this and more on my site
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: huge faucet list on: June 15, 2014, 06:42:42 PM
thanks magnet007

btw i did notice that many of you have links in your signature if any of you are site owners or would like to have your link posted on my site just let me know and id be glad to work with you to get you added. and just to repeat myself it doesnt have to be a faucet i try to offer anything bitcoin
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: huge faucet list on: June 15, 2014, 06:33:24 PM
I would like to welcome you brother.

Kindly, take some of your time to read the rules and stickies and feel free to ask anything you want.

Here, we are one family, and you are one of us.

thanks for the welcome! I've been trying to go through some of the stickies. I know forums frown upon certain links and definitely on spamming but i would like to share my website with others but only in a professional manner. I don't want to break any rules or step on any toes although sometimes that can be near impossible. So for now im biding my time here and just working on becoming a member. so far i havent posted any links or advertised except for adding my site to my signature and profile. I put in a lot of work trying to create a page to help compile a large list of faucets, games, exchange, mining sites and information, wallets and at the moment i refuse to fill my site with ads everything i put on my site i put there to try to direct people to what they're looking for AD FREE.

any advice or constructive criticism is welcome

I like and respect your way of thinking.

My advice would be, get to know the people around here and vice versa.

Then, you could easily advertise.

But if you will advertise now, you will be named ripper, scammer and so on because of your rank.

that is my understanding as well so i will just stick to being a member and reading and posting. as i climb the ranks here my signature will change and anyone who wishes to have a look at my site can via my signature and thats good enough for me. i just wish to be a part of the community. If my site can help then great if not then i just enjoy keeping up with whats going on with bitcoin here

welcome here my friend but I do not understand why you use "thefaucetlist" as username and "huge faucet list " as thread's subject what exactly you want to share with us ?

well i started off as just a faucet list and thats the name of my site then as i worked i began to add more and more now i have games, mining, exchange and more on the site. the reason for naming this thread was that i have listed over 80 bitcoin faucets and thought that was pretty good seeing as how most faucet lists i visited were far fewer.

Welcome.

You will be fine if you offer stuff that people cant get slammed on before you start asking for stuff.

Far too many people just turn up ask for so much stuff then get really defensive when people say no.

oh i dont plan on asking for anything just want to read, learn and share. im not here to beg for traffic just offer my site/info to those who wish to see it
