2.8% after your coins were returned from Exolix? So in a way they served as a mixer for you. Same address, same coins. Exolix did not pass AML with 2.8% score. This is the perfect example of how every chain forensic company will give you a different AML score for the exact same UTXOs. Make sure to use the "Free AML filter" on OrangeFren.com to avoid these issues.

Exolix review: waste of time! In April I withdrew bitcoin from Jacks Club. Today I deposited to Exolix and nothing happened: Confirmation 3/1 Only after I contacted Chat, I was told: your deposit didn't pass our AML check we can continue the exchange via DEX but in this case an additional fee will be included (13:15:11) Knight: What would the DEX fee be? (13:22:48) support team: Unfortunately, I can't tell you the exact amount Orangefren: Tainted coins may be processed with a worse rate by up to 2.5%. Exolix does not know the rate. At least I was refunded. I wasted 30 minutes of my life on this. Chat online is slow to respond. What's wrong with 398d4c0a6e06c80a182d963881e75d0485c7b160a883e6eabacbacc86c73c4fe? That's not great. I'm glad you got refunded. I'm not sure why they don't like those coins. You can ask them for an AML check, maybe they'll tell you more. Consider leaving a review of Exolix on our site here: https://orangefren.com/user/new?service_name=exolix

Most of this so called ''tainted'' coins are almost all coming from centralized exchanges in the first place, either from a hack or some kind of extortion. And scammers are more likely using mixers and coinjoin, so with your logic I could say that most coinjoined coins fit in the same category. It's so easy to ''clean'' any coins if someone ''whitelist'' one exchange address.
Well yeah, mixed and coinjoined funds are considered tainted generally

Sorry but I can't agree with you on this at all. DEX exchanges are NOT a bad thing, and this is the first time I heard about ''extremely tainted coins''. There is not a single guarantee we won't receive exact same coins from centralized exchanges, and we could get in lot more trouble with recorder IP addresses, KYC verification, seized coins, and all kind of other crap. Sure, taint is a made-up concept, but to the extent that people believe it often the users we see who get shotgun-KYC'ed acquired their coins on a P2P exchange. Conversely users that have tainted coins tend to dispose of them there too. Centralized services can, in theory, send you tainted coins, but in practice it basically never happens. The only exception which comes to mind, that affected our users, was users who used eXch shortly before they shut down. "Taint" is kinda arbitrary, defined by companies that earn from selling the notion of taint. Which means they can simply define anything withdrawn from their customers as "clean". The coins stay the same, it's the finger-pointing that changes.
True, the list of actually sanctioned coins, for instance by US OFAC, is very short too. OrangeFren.com gets you better rates than in-wallet swapsSome of you may not be aware, but the links on OrangeFren.com will get you much better rates than using the swap function built into many wallets. In fact the rates using our links are identical to using a service directly. Here's an estimate for a 0.1 BTC to XMR swap inside of a wallet: And here's the estimate our users get (the tiny difference is from a lag in fetching the rate by our server):

Has anyone tried to use Octoswap recently? Last few times when I did search on Orangefren for swapping USDT to BTC, Octoswap has been shown as exchange with best exchange rate. When I visited Octoswap I was surprised how good exchange rate really was Too bad that it didn't work. This issue is going on for few weeks, as I tried to swap smaller amounts of USDT to BTC, and it wasn't fixed so I couldn't make the swap. Haven't tried other pairs though, just USDT (BEP20) -> BTC. Thanks for the report. I think the issue is our accurate on very small swaps isn't great. We'll make sure OctoSwap start reporting the min swap sizes to us so we can avoid these issues. That's one "feature" I really dislike! The notion of "taint" is completely arbitrary, so they can selectively apply it. But also, they're basically saying they'll take dirty criminal coins as long as they get a higher fee.
I wonder how they manage 'tainted' coins, exchangers who use third-party liquidity partners. Obviously, they found a way to prevent LP from freezing their funds. Do they share that extra fee among themselves? I can't speak for OctoSwap specifically, but generally what I've heard services do with tainted coins is they sell them on DEXes. This is one of the reasons why using P2P DEXes is very dangerous as you're likely to end up with extremely tainted coins.

I think people prefer holding bitcoin and spending stablecoins, but there is a chance once day government won't allow them to spend BTC in future if they are not ''appoved'' by them. If you didn't notice many big tech companies also started their own stablecoins, even Trump clown, and that tells you something. I personally don't trust any stablecoin, especially not for holding.
I wouldn't trust any stables either. As for Bitcoin I'm surprised that LN isn't used more. I should start charging them per message like some egirls are doing Stats for AugustStats for searches on OrangeFren.com in August👀 Why is Bitcoin below 25%? Why are people moving to USDC? Based on stats from our users FF demands personal information for roughly 1 in 10 000 ~ 20 000 swaps.
How would actually you know if someone is asked by FF to complete KYC verification, and they do that without informing you? That 1 guy in 20 000 swaps is someone who complained and maybe they didn't want to comply with FF demands.
Maybe this new aggregator could be interesting for OrangeFren, I think it was made by someone from PeachBitcoin: https://p2p.band/It's based on users of OrangeFren.com who complained and any user of Intercambio.app that was asked for extra info. We no longer have FF listed on Intercambio, because they required us to start logging and we declined. I'll check it out! Video by xenuOrangeFren.com and Intercambio.app SimpleX bot were shown in a tutorial video by xenu, the admin of antimoonboy.com! Watch it on:

We have a warning I would not agree that FF is ''Rarely'' asking from users to send them personal documents. There are new reports against them all the time, more than for any other swap exchange. Based on stats from our users FF demands personal information for roughly 1 in 10 000 ~ 20 000 swaps.

FixedFloat supports LN, it seems not from the website.
Our currency support table is dynamic and refreshes every few minutes. If FF isn't shown as supporting LN then it's because they briefly disabled it +1 for this suggestion. In addition to KYC, they may also require proof of SoF (source of funds). I really wouldn't risk getting into a situation where I explain to Fixedfloat the sources of my coins. I guess they are generous in the affiliate program, so that is the reason why they are promoted on many platforms.
They have by far the worst affiliate program as far as we're concerned, because they have the lowest fees. However, they are a favourite for most people. On that note, I wish more services had LN. eXch was a very attractive alternative to FF, because they had LN and just as low fees, while having no KYC. Orangefren guarantees for FF in some part. It would be good to get an explanation in which exact cases the user can refer to this guarantee. For example, can I ask for refund coins instead of passing KYC, and that OF will guarantee me for such a thing OrangeFren Guarantee Your trade is fully protected against this service scamming you. Good suggestion. I'll make sure we clarify it. And no, only if a never-KYC service demands KYC from you will we cover. Better then removing it, just add near it a big warning about the kyc risk, but also add that it supports LN.
We have a warning

This is a good idea, but it appears there is some color bug (or intention) showing red color instead of green for almost empty blocks. I know this is only visual and it's not a big deal, but I saw something strange and compared it with main mempool.space website. You can see this in screenshots posted below: It's intentional. I think OrangeFren decided to use two completely different color themes, while mempool.space just used different shades of green to represent the zones. According to my understanding, the transactions in the "unconfirmed blocks" or mempool are divided into two. Those that have a fee rate of 1 sat/vbyte and above represented by green, and those that have a fee rate of less than 1 sat/vbyte to zero represented by Red. You're right about the colours, but it wasn't intentional. This is a bug from the latest release of mempool.space and the official instance fixed it. We could fix it too, but it does fit quite well, because most nodes and miners won't accept <1sat/vB txs, so they are a bit risky to rely on. That said, we made sure our node is connected to other <1sat/vB nodes, so if you want to broadcast such a tx you can do so here: https://mempool.orangefren.com/tx/push and it ought to reach the miners that accept such txs. Monero public nodeAfter launching mempool.orangefren.com with PrivateAlps.net we're now happy to share we've launched a public Monero node that you can connect to from your mobile wallet (ex: Cake Wallet). The node is available at xmr-node.orangefren.com and is reachable on port 18089

[...] I would like to know beforehand what would happen if they would freeze my funds during exchange? How long would I have to wait to get to my funds and how would you clarify if they really try to scam me or they froze my funds legitimately?
Usually they'll ask questions about who you are, where you live, how you obtained the coins you sent them and proofs for all of the above. Generally all of this takes about a week. Whenever such cases are reported to us we always request FF send us whatever proof they have on their end that the coins they got were tainted. Hi Orangefren, I just wanted to ask a few questions about your service. In next few months I plan to exchange my funds from stablecoin to BTC and I would like to use your service.
I saw that FixedFloat has best exchange rates in my case, and also that you offer guarantee against them scamming.
If you're planning on swapping a large sum with FixedFloat, and are not in a hurry, then please consider reaching out to me or our customer support and we can generally get a prescreening from FF to ensure a guaranteed no-KYC from them. By that I mean they'll check your address before you deposit. This takes a few days to do usually and it's a courtesy on their end for us and our users so they can always decline doing it, but so far they've always done so.

I'm not sure what the ultimate goal is to have something like this on an exchange aggregator, but I welcome any initiative for improvement. Otherwise, it seems that it does not show relevant information, it is quite different from what is on the real mempool As for the link to the hosting service that you set up, according to the rules of the forum, it is not allowed to leave affiliate & referral links in the post The purpose is that we very often need to find some tx to do arbitration between a user and an exchange. So far we've used external block explorers, but now we'll be using our own trusted ones. We'll get the sub-1-sat txs asap. DONE!Thanks for point out the ref link - removed.

ReviewsYou can now leave a review for a service you used on OrangeFren.com. We will start displaying the reviews once we've collected a few. I wanted to check this out and write some reviews fir services I use, but your websites is not accessible for me. This is not browsers related because I tried opening with different browsers, and results are the same. Maybe you are also getting DDoS attacked like many other crypto related services. OrangeFren onion links is working fine at the moment: http://rnwis2whetqcj4oknksnc5l24jbh33nflunifff3xtjjonnoxu3ld6id.onion/ You should add official onion link in first post of this topic. Apologies. Yes, we've been DDoSed a bit today and they manage to knock OrangeFren.com offline briefly. We should be online once more. Thanks for the suggestion regarding the onion! Mempool.OrangeFren.comIn partnership with PrivateAlps.net we've launched our own instance of mempool.space available at Mempool.OrangeFren.com. PrivateAlps.net are a privacy-focused VPS provider and accept Bitcoin and Monero.

As far as I remember, at the beginning of eXch, the fee for XMR trade was below 2%. Later, they raised it to 5+%, after XMR was delisted from many big CEX, so eXch was one of the few options that offered XMR in any relation and that led to a great demand for this coin on their service. Also, there is a matter that has already been discussed here in recent days. An exchanger can represent a very low service fee, and at the same time have completely different relations in the real offer. For example, I always check other alternatives, hence the note that MB was a bit more expensive.
Initially, I think the rate was even better (0.5%). But after the XMR delistings they changed where they got their rate and started using Bisq as an oracle. The rates we show on our homepage are relative to CoinGecko. Of course an exchange might be lying about their rate, but in that case we take action against them. Nowadays the best service, if you value a Tor mirror, no JS, and a promise never to KYC the users tends to Xchange.me. ReviewsYou can now leave a review for a service you used on OrangeFren.com. A lot of very valuable services have shut down recently. AgoraDesk, eXch, now Majestic Bank. Majestic Bank definitely had their issues, but they'll still be missed.
As far as I remember, rates at Majesticbank were not very competitive and their fee was significantly higher compared to some other 'small' swap services. I remembered them because I was always the first to reject their offer. It's certainly a shame if an established service shuts down Interesting. Majestic Bank used to have a much better rate than other never-KYC, no JS, Tor mirror, type services. Their base fee was 2%. eXch for instance started at 5.5% for anyone buying XMR. Xchange has 3.6% as of writing.

I've never seen an exit strategy like this: Effective of this moment MajesticBank is shutting down its services. ~ MajesticBank was not created to make profit ~ pending orders (sorry about that) which will be refunded with premiums ranging from 100-500 USD based on value. ~ As soon as service is disintegrated, farewell donations will follow. A lot of very valuable services have shut down recently. AgoraDesk, eXch, now Majestic Bank. Majestic Bank definitely had their issues, but they'll still be missed.

It's not ideal, but it will be very expensive to manipulate. And I think it's a better solution, than what anyone has. Can we think of ways to manipulate it before you implement it? We're keeping it secret for now 92% of Lightning payments we routed went through a hub- 2953 payments routed over 1.5 years
- 24 channels sold to plebs
- Fewer than 1 in 13 payments were between plebs!!
The rest? Their previous or next hop was a hub🐇

The issue I'm concerned with is the employees of an exchange making swaps and then spamming reviews. I'm not sure how to resolve this. That's a risk every online review site has. It's not great, but no reviews at all isn't great either. I've come up with a solution! Thank you for the brainstorming guys! <3 It's not ideal, but it will be very expensive to manipulate. And I think it's a better solution, than what anyone has. We'll get it implemented asap.

I'm not sure how feasible it is in the case of Orangefren, but for example, Exolix has the option of adding an email address for sending order information. Only after the transaction is completed, you will receive an additional email to evaluate the service. If nothing else, fake reviews are avoided, even for users who have not used the platform at all. I assume that such a thing is very difficult to do as a partner aggregator.
