Yes, we are still alive. Fractalcoin isn't putting food in our mouth or paying the bills so we have jobs that take up our time. We also have personal lives offline that we need to attend to.

earlz is always on the lookout for new things and evaluates whether or not he wants to add them to FractalCoin. As we have stated many times before, we do not feel a coin needs to constantly have new features added. At some point you need to allow the coin to stabilize.

Rest assured, we have not abandoned this coin like all the other shitcoins and scamcoins. We want this coin to succeed as much as the next person.

That can also kill a coin in a heartbeat. It's not like we are living in a hole either, we are watching the scene for any new features that come along that might work well with FRAC. We're just protective of the coin and don't want to add a feature just because it's the fad of the week.

We can ask merchants to accept FRAC (and we have) all we want as developers, but until they hear from the consumers, they don't care about us.

We can only lead the horse to the water, we can't make him drink. It's pressure from customers that businesses will respond to.

As I pointed out in a previous post, sure we can post some exciting news and pump the price but it will be dumped shortly thereafter because it's not a real economic force driving it, just hot air. If you want a coin the devs are going to pump and dump, try any one of a dozen new shitcoins posted every day over at BitcoinTalk.

I'd also like to point out that one reason you don't hear about what we are working on all the time is to make sure someone else doesn't grab our idea and rush out some poor implementation of it taking the shine off our release. Since it's open source, we have no problem with people using our finished work, just let us finish it first.

Careful folks, there seems to be a concentrated effort to drive the price of this coin down. Look at the shills posting about how this coin is dead and the devs don't post anymore TWO POSTS BELOW A DEV POST!  They aren't even reading the thread, just posting their canned FUD messages.

Do NOT fall for the FUD folks!

For those of you wanting to see value on the coin, that has to come from the users of the coin. At best we can artificially pump the price with some fancy market-speak, but that is a hollow increase and will just fall back down. We are not Pump & Dumpers! We aren't going to hurt the reputation of our work by milking it with market manipulation. For a coin to truly gain and hold value, people have to use it. Ask your favorite merchant that already accepts alt coins to also accept FRAC. The pressure has to come from the community. We are prepared to work with any merchant that wants to accept FRAC, just have them contact us.

Why must a coin continue to add features? Everyone is clamoring for "new" things but mention nothing of what they want. We aren't just going to add something because it's the latest buzzword in crypto. If something comes a long that will add value to the coin, we take a look at it, but there is no guarantee we will add it simply because it's new.

And no, this isn't just a test coin.

And when I say stable, I mean a coin that doesn't have buggy stratums and wallets that forks every other week.

If you take a look, all this negative FUD being posted about the coin today happened just before the market made some large moves. This is usually a good indication of manipulation. I'd also like to point out one of the naysayers has FreshCoin in their sig. Fresh is a carbon copy of FractalCoin with a few minor changes. They didn't even bother to change the address generation so their wallet addresses are also valid FractalCoin addresses. So make sure what address you are using if you have both FractalCoin and FreshCoin.

Folks, the coin is not dead. We aren't jumping on every new little coin tech fad that comes along. We want FractalCoin to remain stable and avoid the potential failure of trying the latest fad. This is not to say we don't look at new tech and would never add anything, it's just there are none at the moment we are considering adding.

If you think a coin has to constantly adopt every new technology as it appears on the scene, then yes, FractalCoin is not for you. If you want a coin that is stable and won't suddenly implement some technology that kills it, then stick with us.

A coin can't keep changing it's tune, it needs to become stable and not constantly try to jump on the latest fad technology that has come along. A coin that keeps trying to implement the latest untested technology may end up killing itself off by adding something that provides no value but was only added to stick another buzz word into promotional material. We want FractalCoin to become a stable and reliable form of currency that doesn't jump and hop all over the place trying to catch the next Big Thing™.

FractalCoin is an innovator in cryptocurrency already with it's Slingshield technology. We don't feel the need to hop on each feature hype train as it passes.

Have you let it run for a bit? It may be updating the chain but not thrown the splash screen up. I've had other coin clients do that occasionally.

We're pretty sure the download is fine, we haven't changed anything.
