1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to run Electrum on: October 18, 2016, 04:37:02 PM
Try clicking on the windows logo at the lower left and type "electrum", sure it will come up.
Then right-click on it and pin it to your taskbar.

I tried that. "Electrum Wallet" appears, and when i click on it i'm taken to my browser, which displays the result of the search term "Electrum Wallet".
2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Installation suggestions on: October 18, 2016, 06:57:08 AM
On installation Electrum uses the standard, which means obscure, place for installation. This complicates doing selective backups and finding stuff.

It is suggested that the user be given the option of where he/she would like to put the program and data files.
3  Bitcoin / Electrum / How to run Electrum on: October 18, 2016, 06:48:19 AM
Windows 10.
After downloading Electrum and installing it a wallet pops up. Once the wallet is closed i can see no way of activating it again. There is no icon on the desktop and there is no executable module in c:\Users\User name\AppData\Electrum
or in Program Files.

(I find it very strange that this most basic information is not on the web page, the documentation, or FAQs.)

Please help, Thanks, Trog
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cyber Attack? on: October 19, 2015, 04:58:04 PM
Thank you for input. After two days of trying various things they are up and running again. Unfortunately i am unable to pinpoint which action brought them back online. But it was not a cyber attack as i had feared. My computers were fine but the ASICs were not working, and i'm guessing it was related to the network.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Cyber Attack? on: October 18, 2015, 10:44:23 PM
All my miners suddenly stopped hashing at about the same time. There was no power failure, power surge, or Internet problem. After power down and power up again they cannot resume hashing. No amount of diagnosis or trial and error has succeeded in my being able to bring them back online or access their IP address. I have not yet re-initialized their SD cards.

I suspect this may have been a cyber attack. Has anyone had a similar experience, or able to share information about this phenomenon?

If this is a cyber attack does it mean my modem/router passwords have been compromised? As well as the passwords to access the miners?

Any input will be appreciated.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: October 05, 2014, 04:18:04 PM
Reasons why I have very reluctantly left this pool: Cry
1. The hash rate as shown by the pool is sometimes substantially less than the hash rate shown by the miner and I have no explanation for that, and don't know whether that means the miner is earning less than it is capable of.
2. I have 6 miners, so I need 6 web pages open to monitor what each miner is doing. I could lump them all under one address, but then I cannot see which miner is playing up.
3. I coincidentally joined the pool at a time BtC was taking a dive. Any increased profit there may have been from the pool were offset by BtC losses.
4. No facility to counteract 3. above by selecting a scrypt coin payout, after all I am using scrypt miners because I wanted to mine for scrypt coins.
5. To sum up, I have no evidence that I'm better off with this pool, and the statistics are lacking or too difficult to gather, to enable me to get a good comparison.

I suspect this pool does have benefits and will try it again at some time in the future.

I have invested in scrypt miners to mine for scrypt coins. I admire what you are doing but suggest that a scrypt payout option be available.

New miner @ clevermining. My hash rate as shown by you is half the hash rate as shown directly by the miner when I access the software via the controller's IP address. I have not set difficulty, but was wondering why the difference in hash rates.
10  Economy / Goods / Re: Land: Building Lot on: September 26, 2014, 05:44:11 PM
May I ask how big is the lot? I'm not from the US, but the price seems really good!
Best of luck with the selling.

PS: Maybe it's just me, but by adding a [Selling] tag it makes the title more obvious.

It's a small lot, about 40 feet by 100 feet. It has all utilities (water, electricity, sewage) already installed. That alone is a 30 BtC value. Ideal for a retirement/vacation home in a wonderful lake/golfing community.
