1  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining for beginners on: Today at 01:07:16 PM
Why do you want to mine? To see how mining works? you can get yourself the cheapest nerd miner v2 if that is the case.

If you want to mine for profit sake you need to make sure that your power bill is very affordable, for example, in Ethiopia you pay nothing less than $0.01 to $0.05 per KWh so how cheap is yours?

Avoid new brand Asic miners, few of them really sucks bad, go for popular brand like BitMain.

Hello, buddy.

I think one of the posts you sent is invalid. I would like to point out that the rules created by fillippone clearly state that the Politics and Society section is included in the excluded forums. You still have time to change it before it is reviewed Wink.

  • Excluded Boards: Meta, Reputation, Altcoin (local boards included), Archival, Games and Rounds, Investor Based Games, Micro Earnings, Politics and Society, Gambling and Off-topic will not count. Posts in Ivory Tower and Serious discussion don't count as well.

CMIIW

My bad, I really don't know that politics and society is one of the excluded boards, thanks for the notice.

To be honest, the story of yours seems a little unrealistic to me. For someone who has been holding for like 2-3 years, they should already know some of the basics of Crypto, "Not your keys, not your coins." Yet despite that, he willingly gave away his seed to the impostors? Umm, I don't know how to process that. No legitimate company/person/business/entity would ever ask for your keys! The seed belongs to you and only you.

Anyway, if that's really true then I'm sorry for your family members loses. I hope it wasn't a massive amount. At least he learned the lesson the hard way, he won't be forgetting it in this lifetime.

I respect your opinion, all I can say is there are many gullible investors in crypto space, it is not all of them that want to learn or improve in any area, there are people who still find someone to help them open a brand new crypto wallet on their smartphone, it is happening you just don't know. Don't forget that people don't want to take responsibility, they always want some one to always get the job done for them this is why scammers are getting fatter in crypto space and they will continue to do so.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: self control on: September 26, 2025, 04:12:59 PM
is self control enough in this economy?

in order to save money, is it enough to just prevent oneself from buying things unnecessary or limit ourselves to only what is needed to survive? is this a way to live? is there no other easy way aside from earning so much?

sometimes i feel like even with utmost self control you still don’t end up getting rich due to expensive prices and lack of salary in general

Some things are not necessarily a waste of money, and once you buy something you aren't buying it twice, we only have to make sure that those things are really needed, I just changed my laptop days back and I have been talking about how I am going to have to change the laptop because it is not working fine anymore, this went on for two years and finally I decided to purchase a new one, the reason why I have been postponing it was because I had to invest for a while.

My personal opinion is to allow balance in everything we do, because money really isn't everything, yes pursue money but don't let it rob you of your life and well being, make sure, if you need something even if it is for fun sake get it, tomorrow isn't promised, it is a form of happiness when we feel fulfilled even when death has come to take one away.

Many older people have regrets of not living their life as they want, instead they are busy chasing money and they lost love and affection in their lives, their abandoned their love ones thinking money solves all things.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Know your right on: September 26, 2025, 12:21:19 PM
Know your right as a crypto investor.

It is your right to safe guide your recovery seed, I repeat, it is your every right to safe guide your private keys only to yourself, it is your right to know that if you buy a ledger hardware wallet no one from ledger company should ask for your recovery seed or private key for any reason.

There is never any reason to start with, if anyone working in Ledger company ask you this do not fight it in your mind to accept that they are trying to scam you, like I've said it is your right to keep your recovery seed to yourself only.

A family member of mine, one of those who learnt about crypto very late still end up getting scammed, while some will call this foolishness I prefer to call it lack of knowledge. Ledger sent a message requesting for his recovery seed and he sent them, without thinking twice or informing me first, every coins he own since 2023 is gone, now he is starting from scratch after so many emotional tears been shared.

It is gone and not coming back, there is a lesson here if you are buying and holding coins, no one have the right to know a single alphabet of your recovery seed, not even the companies that made the wallets.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reasons to use only Discretionary Income for Bitcoin investment. on: September 26, 2025, 11:36:02 AM
Some newbies won't understand why they say use only your Discretionary income to invest in Bitcoin or why it is said that "Don’t invest money you can’t afford to lose."
It is very important that newbies should know the reason why they must use only their discretionary income to accumulate or invest in Bitcoin.
And this is the reason why, other members can still add to this I believe it will help not just newbies but other members who are still not aware.

1. Bitcoin is Highly Volatile: you need to understand that Bitcoin is highly volatile in nature meaning it is not constant in it's price the price changes every minute meaning it rises and falls frequently so If you use money meant for your rent, food, or bills, you risk being stranded during a fall of Bitcoin price.
Using only your Discretionary income protects your lifestyle even if Bitcoin falls.

2. Protects You from Emotional Stress: If your important and essential funds are tied up in Bitcoin you will be panicking at every dip that happens in Bitcoin which will cause you emotional stress or even lead to shock that can end your life so using discretionary income makes you stay calm and patient, making it easier to HODL for long term without fear and panic.

3. Encourages Long Term Growth Mindset: if you are using only your Discretionary income to accumulate Bitcoin it will make you to HODL longer because the money you are using is what you actually don't need for any essential thing, so you can hold for years without even panicking.

4. Prevent Debt: some set of people borrow money just to invest in Bitcoin which is very bad because if a dip happens and the due date to repay comes you will become in debt and loss at same time, so no matter how small your Discretionary income is use only it to accumulate Bitcoin it will prevent you from debt.

When you are using only your discretionary income to invest in Bitcoin it means you are investing with peace of mind. Even if Bitcoin falls, your life, bills, and responsibilities stay safe and intact, so use only your Discretionary income for Bitcoin investment or accumulation.

Nice write up OP but I want you to know that there are many stories online about people who became who they are today because they took great risks on Bitcoin investment, some sold everything they had and bought bitcoin, I remember one who sold his house in the U.S to buy Bitcoin, today he is a whale, another is a family who sold properties and bought bitcoin years ago as if someone told them to, they are now very rich.

If anyone can take risks and they already understand the consequences I have no problem with that, if you want to borrow money to buy Bitcoin you should understand the possible risks involved, I only start to have problems with people who take risks and start complaining later, such people are idiots. A lot of respect for people who take risks knowing fully when what could go wrong and if things eventually go wrong they brave up and accept the result, these are the type of people that deserves to take risks.

Your advice isn't far from the truth, it is just that your advice is suited for people who want to win but don't want to know what it feels like to lose money, people don't even know who they really are, it is not a crime to be emotional, if you are like this then don't take risks knowing fully when what could happen to you.

He won that's why you are saying all this, do you know that smart whales have also lost millions using this same strategy? Sometimes the market just go against you for no reason, news are powerful to change the fate of the current market situation, don't forget this.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Checking more than thrice before destroying the send button isn't time wasting on: July 28, 2025, 07:54:22 AM
my own believe about this topic can be far more crazier, what if the so called client intentionally sent that USD.T knowing that it's a fake USD coin or a dead USD coin, because it looks dead to me, maybe the client use it to frame OP brother just to make it look like the fault is all on the brother?

Bybit did nothing wrong here, because if USD.T is really a thing they will refund it, but as per my investigations no one is using USD.T to store their money, it's available on coin gecko and it has oy $28 trading volume, that shows it all, it's a complete scam.
10  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: I dey worry for the future of my countty on: July 15, 2025, 06:23:53 AM
Why blame the youths when we have rulers who have done nothing but destroy this country? Why blame the youths when we have rulers who have nothing but refuse to respect rule of law? Why blame the youths who see graduates become beggars due to lack of employment? Why blame the youths who see politicians syphon money and walk freely without any punishment? Why blame the youths who see the hardworking and sincere people die in poverty?

If the country is good I am sure that our youths will not involve in illegalities. Provide jobs with good pay and so many youths will avoid involving in illegal activities. Some of these youths are not happy with what they do but the fact remains that they cannot watch their family continue to suffer whereas they see others involve in illegality and live a good life.

Our problem is our leaders and not the youths. If the future of our country must be good then our leaders must learn go be selfless and pursue the common good of our country.

Its a matter of choice, its either the youths continue to go bad because the leaders are bad and the condition worsen even more or they don't look at the old politicians and make up their mind that things will change from their own head, I was expecting a similar reply like yours and here we have it.

Why people wan dey copy bad thing? Just because the leaders are corrupt now, is going corrupt going to change anything too? I no get it, you can't fight fire with fire and you can't fight water with water.

Moreover they choose the bad path as their way of revenge, something that will make the future more worse, even you wey dey talk, if you get girl pikin its possible that her future husband go be fraudster or even worse, because today's parent s are using fraud money to raise family.

Children always want to be the better fashion of their parent, make we no forget this part, nah wetin your child see he or she go copy or even worse.

I fear for the future of my cointry, I don old already, I come dey think say our youths are our future, at least in tech the youths go take things further and hopeful it go help the country but I come dey sad after so many small boys for my cabal wey me dey teach bitcoin and trading are all into fraud.

The street dey raided last week and only two out of them eight boys are clean, and the ones wey I teach gangan they scam foreigners of their money, them come they collect the money with Bitcoin, dem no even know say them fit track them back o, it was like a action movie that day.

I even dey tell my sisters say I fit stand for them kids because I trust them, I was shocked when the matter escalated o, youths of our time no get patience again, them wan make money faster, dem no get chest for failure at all, I swear I try for this life, because the failures wey I don go true ehn I no suppose get anywhere again.

If every youths for country come turn criminal like this, shey this country get hope again so? No wonder the old politicians dey say the youths will destroy the country more than them if they take over. Nawaho
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / If BTC was TC on: July 02, 2025, 10:21:56 AM
The following would have happened if BTC was Tornado Cash

1. Likely to get banned, for real.
2. Devs will be forced to break the anonymous part.
3. A leader won't come out to support in the open because the opposition party will use it against the leader.
4. A great tool for hiding frauds transactions it is.

The future of Bitcoin looks terrifying to some people right now because those in power are now into Bitcoin, taking every bit of those Satoshi like their lives depend on it.

I get you, I feel the same way too but the part that's missing is the control part.

Even if these centralised freaks of nature takes all BTC available to themselves they can't control yours still, your Bitcoin wallet remain your Bitcoin wallet, the Key remain yours forever meaning only you have access to your fund, which is why I hated banks so much.

Isn't this the reason why most of us prefer Bitcoin?

The only part they can control is price actions.

With Bitcoin, the power of centralization control is far lesser than most thinks.

Someone have to say something about this.

Why are You tubers using the statement that NordVPN can safe crypto investors from getting hacked?

Is this even true? What connections do VPN have with crypto wallet? If anything can protect your PC from malware and other viruses shouldn't that be Antivirus?

Since when did Location spoofers and VPN start protecting crypto users from hacks? Someone please explain to me..

Here is what I think, NordVPN is paying crypto you tubers to promote their software, but Youtubers are forcing it on crypto investors neck?

Don't fall for it newbies, VPN job is to change your location.

Antivirus and malware softwares protect your PC from viruses and trojans, even malicious malware.

Don't be misinformed, do your own research, but if you think I am wrong I am open to correction.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin bonds make less sense to me, is it just me on: March 28, 2025, 10:57:32 AM
I don't know about you, as for me Bitcoin Bond is nonsense.

How will I give you money to help me by BTC bond when I can just go on crypto exchanges and buy Bitcoin myself? Do you think that this Bond thing will work? Because the more I think about it the less it makes sense to me.

Bond shouldn't have existed, they should just use their money and buy Bitcoin off crypto exchanges, why bond?

And who are foolish enough to give their money to a company to help them buy bond when the real thing is out there onnexchnages open for the public.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Seeing BTC volatility as a flaw, the newbies opium on: March 17, 2025, 08:50:03 AM
I just find out that some new comers are calling Bitcoin volatility a flaw, like really? This is the converstion among my friends, no wonder no one wants to always buy when there is panic in the market.

Something that should be their strength is becoming their fear.

Its volatility comes with an advantage, aka the buying power or buying opportunity.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Could be a scam after all on: February 21, 2025, 03:04:23 PM
This is not a hate post towards Pi Network; in fact, I own some Pi coins myself. However, I have decided to sell all of mine for the following reasons:

1. Years ago, there were claims and rumors that Pi Network was leaking personal data and putting pensions at risk.

2. In 2023, the Chinese police academy warned people about Pi Network, stating that it was a scam targeting elderly individuals in the country.

3. ByBit was expected to be one of the first exchanges to list Pi, but the CEO firmly rejected this. I believe this decision was influenced by the aforementioned concerns.

Let's entertain the possibility that I'm mistaken. What exactly has Pi Network been developing for the past six years? Other successful layer 1 projects like Solana, Polkadot, and Avalanche took much less time to create. Some even claim that Pi is the next Bitcoin.

It seems to me that the team behind Pi Network does not have much to offer. Creating a meme coin can take just a minute, while developing a new standalone blockchain project with practical utilities typically takes one to two years. So, why has it taken Pi Network so long?

Do you think Pi Network is a scam, a fast money grab, or something else entirely? Share your thoughts below.

The only pyramid scheme I knew exists in religion and schools, bitcoin is far different from these two, no cap..

If Bitcoin is a proof of stake project I would have supported you, but I have to exchange my electricity power to get some BTC, something that grows in value over the years? Tell me how this is ponzi please, a ponzi that failed to die when no one is giving the any attention, a ponzi that failed to die when powerful centralised leaders are talking trash about it, bro you need some explanation to do.

There is no single traces that Bitcoin is ponzi, this currency benefits the new grabbers/buyers, it is all in the chart mate, every freaking four years this things adds more value like no other, the utility does what it was intended perfectly well.

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why backup seedphase on Google drive on: February 07, 2025, 08:28:45 PM
Crypto wallet companies are encouraging this act too, they are to be blame because they know better, a newbie who just download trust wallet and decide to backup their privatekey would think it is safe to store on their cloud since the crypto wallet is offering the idea too, it is a big shame on every crypto wallets that made google drive backup in their wallet.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is difficult to understand on: January 30, 2025, 10:35:59 AM
It is very difficult to access except for professional developers and majors. Cry Cry Cry

Tell me, can you solve 2+2? If you can then you can access Bitcoin as well, my 13 years old niece is actively trading Bitcoin and this is the smallest human in my family that knows how to handle Bitcoin and Bitcoin wallet, maybe you should explain  better which part you are finding difficult to understand.

Mind you, this forum is a problem solver, if is a shame that you are not using it in such way, are you not here to learn? If you are then you need to start pointing to where the whole confusing is happening with Bitcoin, the handling of Bitcoin wallet? Or transacting in Bitcoin.
