1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Good Bye! R.I.P on: July 06, 2014, 07:48:45 PM
I do a small amount of mining and have also bought LTC and BTC with $.
nothing major I have around 100 Litecoins at the moment and thats it.
I know a few people (traditional investors) people who can produce
millions of dollars easily for investment. If I was to ever try to get one of
these people to invest in an alt currency they would just not understand, and when/if they
tried to research it would be first confused and than turned off just to much
fraud, easy manipulation and more than anything FUD. I have been busy last few days wish I saw LTC
take that massive dip , I would have bought some.

Everything has its use in your setup: old heat sinks, recycled laptop, cd cases Cheesy Looks good, happy hashing!

Lol, thanks man. I actually have it all running on the recycled netbook under W7 64 now and all of it is drawing a little under 200w at the wall.
The heat sinks are out of a Dual G5 mac tower circa 2006. I should call that rig "The Recycler"  Cool

UPDATE: I usually restart my gridseed asics after 24 hours or so due to the fact that the performance seems to drop off, It has been over 24 hours on these fury's and they are actually running faster now. And after 24+ hours error reporting is :
Invalid shares
1.04%

They look much better than Blizzards. Now get them working! Smiley
Done.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtdApIFIM8k&list=UU7aak3gkutJYNF-qKHKmJIA&feature=share

Ran in to a slight snag with my headless (low power) linux machine I will work on that this weekend. So Rather than
F___ around I set them up on my W7 64 machine and it was simple. It took me longer to route the wires and plug them in than it did
for me to write the batch file and get them going. It took them about 10 mins to settle down and for the invalid nonce errors to drop off.
I will need more uptime to see the overall invalid shares but it looks good so far.

I would rate the overall Experience of dealing with GAW miners 4.5/5 Stars.
The only reason I did not rate 5/5 is because while some may have no problem "Pre-paying" for items and waiting
that was a first for me and also others my self included have experienced broken tracking numbers. If these things are still
going strong in say 2 weeks , I will place another order with them. I am considering a Black widow.

>Cheers !

Im sure most have seen this article , I had not until yesterday :
http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/gawminers-ceo-josh-garza-got-bitcoin-scrypt-mining-asic/2014/05/06

What really caught my eye was :
"At the time of publishing their financial forecast has went up from $30 million to $100 million.  That is exceptional growth"

all I can say is wow. Interesting point on them accepting LTC or BTC as a future payment option.
I now have a working tracking number Smiley my order should arrive tomorrow .

Not only did my fury arrive yesterday, but I was paid compensation for lost time mining, for delays of the unit.

Thanks GAWMiners! Good stuff. Fantastic. Very satisfied customer.

Grats dude. My link is still not working can't wait till mine arrive to.

you forgot a link to an official website that has nothing but links to facebook and twitter pages that do not say anything about the coin other than this coin has great potential.

Came home to a nice email "your order has been shipped" Smiley
They did in fact meet the advertised deadline, very cool.
Once I get my order and everything checks out , I will do more business with them.
Thanks !
Update. When I clicked on the tracking number yesterday it did not work (common for new tracking numbers) So I waited until
today and it is still a bad fedex number, I called Fedex and was told  "a tracking number was created but nothing was shipped, you should contact the shipper" I contacted GAW and am currently waiting for a working tracking number. I realize these guys must be getting slammed with orders. I am sure everything will turn out fine. I am just a little guy with a small order in the $400 -$500 range like most it is easier to come up with $100 - $500 at a time and build as you go. Once I receive my order I will post a small review of the entire experience for anyone else interested. Threads like this are good I read everything here and based my decision to go with GAW from it.

Where it may not be important to the average person as mentioned it is HUGELY important to certain entities (from every end of the spectrum ) .

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CannabisCoin [CANN][X11][Official][420] Developments & Discussions. on: June 24, 2014, 01:22:43 AM
Thanks for the fast response. Good luck with the meeting it would be a huge step for the coin. I am a licensed mmj patient and a know first hand of the benefits of this organic medicine. I like to keep an eye on the MJ based Alt coins and I strongly feel and believe
that once such a coin is truly able to be backed up by a network of dispensaries it would be highly successful. Imagine a system where one coin is backed up in 1g of MMJ, I am sure this is a dream shared by many. Also it was suggested on one of these pages an IRC channel you guys should consider it.

Hello I see from the coins official website :

"The following Medical Marijuana Dispensaries recognize and accept CannabisCoins.

Herbal Wellness Center Inc."

There is also a picture of the dispensary , and other pictures that say CannabisCoin accepted here.
Can you confirm here that this coin is in fact accepted at this dispensary at this time.

thanks.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nebulacoin [NEB] - X11 - PoW/PoS - LAUNCH 6/21/14! on: June 23, 2014, 09:06:28 PM
@fonzerrellie

Well said.

These start up Altcoins to me are like penny stocks and as such have a high risk and are volatile. I see a few problems , People think they are going to buy or mine a coin and make a million dollars in 5 mins and when that does not happen things get ugly. If I get involved in something not just alt coins but anything in life , if it turns out to be not what I expected I walk away. If someone asks me why I will tell them. It is one thing to warn someone about something but to just post the same thing over and over just makes the whole community look bad and ruins it for others who may have time and money invested. Anyway's while people tell lies, the numbers never lie. What I would like to see is when a coin is launched on its info page something like My name is Joe smith I am the lead developer of coinxyz along with (place real name here) not anon. names or handles. My background is this.... Our plan for this coin is this..... and than an actual example of how you are going to do what ever your plan is. Anyone can make wild claims talk is cheap. Just my take on things. Good luck guys.

In 24 hours launch
listed on exchange
premine found

Dev woke up, and than owned up and did not hide.  Might be hard for some to accept and
that is understandable I understand the argument on both sides. I think it is all out in the open go with your gut and either stick with this coin or move on, but the name calling and griefing just weakens the entire community IMO. Make a decision and follow it all the hatred and name calling is not helping anyone.

I am fairly new to the mining scene, with my background being a computer tech with 30 years experience and a former stock day trader
this seems to be a good fit for me. Glad to be here this is my first coin I was part of at release. I was able to tweak my rig a little and get more out of it this morning, sadly its not complete yet. Anyways this should be an interesting week.
-Cheers all !

Would you advise non-miners to buy as soon as it hits an exchange?

I think that all depends on what your intentions are my friend who is an active trader and is mildly interested in what I am doing just said
"wow when it hits the exchange I would sell all on a nice wave" I guess from a pure day trader point of view that makes perfect sense.
But what I said to him is you are right but if you have faith in the coin you could hold it and potentially have something of greater value in the
future. So for a small time guy like me with only a small amount of coins new to the game on my first coin that I got on from day 1 , I will hold them
and enjoy the ride see where it goes. So there are 2 perspectives. As far as buying in for investment purposes at this early stage it is to early to tell
until we see some numbers BUT if the numbers look good and you feel confident go for it, it's all a gamble right now.
