Also one of you other morons who is picking pool usernames from the list, one of the ones you picked... well let's just say you couldn't have made a worse choice to try to impersonate.

Yep. That was a funny one!!!

Wow... why don't you mine on the pool for 2 hours and see what happens? So I upgraded some people's Antminers for free to BTCGarden ones.... that's really a problem? Fake accounts? Exactly what con do you think I'm trying to do here? You can get paid as frequent as hourly... the #"s are easily verified... JUST WHAT am I trying to get out of this? Spend 2 minutes to point your miners here... wait a couple of hours... make more money than ANYWHERE ELSE... then shut your damn mouth and stop wasting my time and everyone else's time here. Thanks...

You've got the patience of a saint, s0br; so I think we should call the Vatican and get you canonized. You could be St. s0br, patron saint of hashing.  Cool Haha!!!

Don't worry about these fools. You are right, and they are wrong. Keep on being right; because that is what really matters.  Grin

I'd really like to know who this Really guy is. He slams people for being newbie sock puppets of BAN yet his account is far newer than many of ours. Not to mention that he ignores any post that he can't attack. I guess that makes him a garden variety troll but I'm still curious.

Honestly, I don't care to know anything about "Really". In fact, I have him ignored, but only read his last post; because I thought that maybe he was going to concede that he was wrong; which we all know that he is. Instead, he has just confirmed that he and all his trollish friends/"alternate accounts"/"voices in his head" are the true "sockpuppets".

I've learned my lesson, and I'm just going to keep "Really" on ignore; because he is far from "Real".

Someone already called it, too many reruns of Dallas, too much time trying to figure out who shot JR, and now he's going to wake up and think all of it was a dream...

It was just a dream? Wow, mine was a nightmare.

Some a$$hat was trolling my friends on the forums...  Roll Eyes

So, yet another brand new user with one post receives an S3, apparently. Undoubtedly another Rokroka "I have imaginary conversations with s0br, in my head" alias.....
Honestly, so much BS going on with this pool - but the thread is hilarious...... Cheesy Cheesy

... said the "Newbie". Tongue

Nice! How they work? Noise, heat?

Very nice, I think. I have them both connected and functioning as one big unit. For boxes generating over 1.2 Th/s, surprisingly, there is not much noise or heat coming from them. A single 1 TH/s dragon miner, or AntMiner S2 is much louder. I think my gaming PC puts out more heat. Wink

Both of my new miners arrived today. Instead of two Antminer S3s, s0br bought me two BTCGarden AM-V1X2 620gh/s Bitcoin Miner (628 watts). Wow!!! The one day shipping was a surprise. Thank you very much, s0br.  Grin

Funny as hell aint it... oh so true!!!
A Wonderland for Pathological Liars and Attention Whores

Before reading that article, I thought they were referring to me as a sockpuppet because of my goggily eyes, puffball nose, and terrycloth skin. As it is described in that article, the ironic thing is those accounts doing most of the complaining are the sockpuppets, right? And that header, "A Wonderland for Pathological Liars and Attention Whores", describes them perfectly.
11  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: September 05, 2014, 02:40:10 PM
I admit to only peeking into this thread on occasion and I don't currently use the service. But from I've been reading, things don't look so good.

So is the general consensus that this is just a well-disguised Ponzi or other scam?

I still haven't figured out how BAN can possibly pay 112.5% PPS and giveaway S3s and continue to operate for any length of time. But the answer appears that they simply don't payout as they promise and the S3s never ship.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

    You are wrong.

s0br has made every effort to make sure that the pool does not hold onto anyone's money. His original efforts had people actually complaining that they were being paid too frequently and complaining that they would rather wait until the payouts were totaling larger amounts before they were transferred. It just goes to show that you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try. He's addressed these requests, and has made changes for pool members to decide how frequently.

It has been my experience that when you offer folks a deal that exceeds the 1:1 ratio of effort in their favor, they will find a reason to complain, hoping that they will get even more than the excess being offered. For instance, the "all you can eat buffet"; which tends to attract a certain clientele that will eat all that they can, and then make a spurious complaint, hoping to get that meal for free. Sometimes you can be too generous.

The "consensus" you've seen is one or two losers, using multiple accounts, that have nothing better to do between school classes, than harass the folks on this forum. In the MMO world, they are known as "griefers". I wouldn't put any value into their hate.

unfortunately I came to the same conclusion.  I do like all the interface work and the notifications too.  But having to track my work and not having the site up on numerous occasions it upsetting to me.

I get the idea that for s0ber the Pool is not his/her fulltime gig yet either.

I will continue to watch the board postings here and check the dashboard too.  If it becomes stable I'll move my multi-terrahashing operation back.

This pool gets better every day. If you check the opening post in this thread, and the index page for the pool's web-site, you'll read that this is admittedly a work in progress. There was no pretense offered that it was perfect... yet. Smiley The 12.5% bonus, and the S3 prizes, were enticements to attract a pool membership, and inspire some patience while the quirks are worked out; because he believes that one day folks will stay on this pool afterwards, knowing that in the long run, they will make money here for their efforts.

Nobody has lost any money here, and anyone that claims to has not worked with the support staff to clear it up.

Keep checking back. I think you'll be as happy with this pool as I am.

12  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: September 04, 2014, 11:54:33 PM
This is exactly what I mean - you managed not to answer a single question, choosing instead to divert the conversation by saying how well things are going. That's Phwner style through & through. I can understand you not knowing though, you've not been on the thread for so long, so read back through the pages a bit, then at least try to answer the questions. You're a pool dev - act like one.

Please, seek professional help... I am begging you.

Question, is just me or the main (dash panel) is a bit slow ?

Sometimes that is a good sign. It means we hit a block... but I won't swear that is what it means all of the time... or this time.  Grin
14  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: September 04, 2014, 10:55:10 PM
Fake photos what? I had internet yes... on my phone... and if you think I'm going to code on my phone....

It was labor day weekend and I treated myself to a fine glass of some gay fruity vodka drink...

Which payouts? There's not a single individual on here that can testify that I refused to rectify... Which bonuses haven't been paid? Yours?

Soap box?

I thought about explaining... then I realized why explain now when instead I can finish coding something that won't need any damn explaining. I get it.. I suck... I'm slow.. it's not like other pools ceased to exist! Why do you think I'm using OWED money? How does that make any sense? When a block is mined... those bitcoins are NOT SPENDABLE! This pool is PPS... with as short as a one hour frequency... guess who's wallet those bitcoins are coming out of genius?

But seriously... things are coming along and will be done soon. If you want to wait a few days... wait a few days! There's nothing wrong with that... or not... mine.. make 12.5% more... enjoy the bonus... NOBODY HERE WILL EVER LOSE ANY MONEY. Send me a message here on the board if something doesn't add up... let's look at the #'s.. your hashrate.. do calculations... I haven't answered as much email as I have in the past 3 weeks than I have in the past 10 years... and somehow I don't seem to mind it. Odd days... must be the old age setting in... I also don't think I've had as many drinks as I've had in the past year either. Smiley ... and have no idea how I've become another nerd that posts on these boards... amazing...

Well your doing good for being a forum nerd!  Cheesy

Just a quick update, I was able to speak to s0br directly on IRC and he admitted that there were some possible issues between stratum servers and db which could have caused our shares to be lost.

Currently he has paid us all back payments due including the bonus using my share count.  I would like to publicly thank s0br for following through with the back payments and working to improve the system.

I hope you will go through your prior posts & edit/delete them.

And he should modify/remove the "News" item on his pool's web-site for August 31st.

No, I'm not going to revise history.  I don't believe I ever said anything that was factually incorrect at the time.  What happened happened and hopefully things will be better for the users of this pool going forward.

It's just sad that you can thank your pool's members for being patient, yet you couldn't extend the same courtesy here, and be just a little patient.

Hi,

For all my fellow BAN pool miners that are using Antminer S2s, I thought I'd give you a heads up on a couple of things we were talking about in the IRC chat over this past weekend.

The default firmware file leaves an open security hole for folks to exploit, and hijack your miner to work for them. So far, this has happened to me, with a miner using the name "benutzer" (German for "user"... apropos, right?) at BTC Guild. I don't blame BTC Guild for this one bad apple, but I did try to appeal to them to drop this guy. I don't think I made any progress on that part. I'm sure that they might be good people, with one bad apple.

Well, what I found was a firmware file that was not from Bitmain, but specific for the S2, initramfs.bin.SD-Kano-20140611145346.tar... Avoid it!!! I tried it, and I had 60 million invalid shares in just a moment. What a mess!!!  Embarrassed

If your miners are not behind a firewall, for now, all I can advise is that for you to make sure /etc/cgminer.conf.factory has api-allow set as something like this:

        "api-allow": "W:127.0.0.1,R:0/0",

It allows you to modify the configurations locally, or via the web interface.

This isn't really a BAN issue.  The default S1/2 cgminer has this bug.  For anyone who buys an Antminer S1-3, I would recommend updating to the most recent firmware from Antminer directly, and then Kano's actual firmware.  I've linked them below.

Official Antminer Firmware from Bitmain: https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm
S1: https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720140411033846942qQqjOD460695
S2: https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720140413044945482bs4xshkh072D
S3: https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201407180243004432lBQW28O0633

Kano's S1 CGminer: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1
Kano's S2 CGminer: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS2
You can search through this forum for postings by Kano himself mentioning his own firmware to verify.
Kano's CGminer actually fixes this bug, but there are some people who have posted fake firmware to scam people out of their mining.

It's only a BAN issue because a bunch of us were talking about it in the BAN IRC channel. It's also a BAN issue, because the current Invalid Shares count includes the 66 million I was writing about. Let's not start trying to tell folks where and when they can write things, and let others decide for themselves what is worthwhile.

The link you've provided is exactly the file that I had used; because it is supposed to fix it. That is why I tried it. That is why I am advising others not to.

Hello All,

There was a good suggestion made on the pool's IRC chat yesterday, about a giveaway for the low hashrate miners of the pool (less than 250 Gh/s members); so I thought I'd follow s0br's example and "pay it forward".

I am giving away one of my "Nano Fury 6 - 11 Gh/s (stock) USB Bitcoin Miner" from Moonlight Miner. It's fun to play with. Smiley

The winner will be announced within the next 24 hours, and I'll ship it to the winner myself. Good luck to all!!  Cool
20  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 29, 2014, 12:03:31 PM
I'm guessing that until he's offered an S3 of his own nothing will be good enough. Not really sure what will satisfy his skepticism short of one for himself. And just like all the other trolls, he's continuing to ignore questions from others, just continuing to rant.

It's feigned skepticism, and feigned concern for anyone but themselves.

This pool is great, and I can't do much as a user here, except to let others know how happy I am to be part of this pool.
