I think the first thing to do is DYOR in order to avoid getting scammed (well, that's obvious).
Read trading bot reviews, watch videos on youtube, read influencers on twitter, maybe if you are a member of closed discord channels ask traders what bots they use.
All of these factors in a bunch, if you do a good analysis of a new bot, will lead to the fact that you are unlikely to be fooled.
