1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Peer-to-peer Bitcoin lending bitbond.com. Opinions? on: December 28, 2014, 09:29:03 AM
I just did a long Q&A with Radoslav of Bitbond on my blog at p2plendingexpert.com  last week that outlined what he is doing, how things are changing there and why.

He is definitely legit, not just in BTC lending but in peer to peer lending overall as some of my colleagues have met him at fiat lending conferences. I don't know if his platform will be successful or not but he is a legitimate business person.

I have many posts about my and other lender experiences on BTCJam and BitLendingClub too on my blog. I think those that have been asking about experiences there will see what many investors are doing with them.

I'm Stu Lustman and I'm a peer lending blogger and lifer in finance at p2plendingexpert.com

I want project owners to succeed in getting funded. Investors want to invest in projects they believe in.

Your project can gain increased investor trust and investment though my service BitFinControls.

When you answer the questions and provide proof to us of the financial and operational controls you have in place for your project, you will get increased investor interest and engagement in your project.  This is the closest to an Audit-like function available in the BTC market today.

Let me and my team of financial experts help you and your project. The cost of the service for this financial controls service is 2.5 BTC while I work the kinks out of my system. Price will increase when I move out of beta.

Give it a try. Here is the form site: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lkUVQudIESnlu2RC6MbpxB5NFpKWWQTn32Sh-VViL9k/viewform?usp=send_form

Please ask me any questions you have directly and I will do my best to answer.

4  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Coinbase "Cost Basis for Taxes" usage on: October 15, 2014, 04:34:55 PM
I'm a finance guy but not a tax accountant and a blogger on Peer lending as an investment including lending BTC.

You are fine with using FIFO. Regardless of your 87 wallets you transfer things between, including back to Coinbase, you only have a taxable event when you sell the coin. It's a capital gain or loss and short term or long term depending on how long you held it before you sold it.

CB has good records of your purchases so you can match purchase prices and sale prices to determine that gain or loss.  Your  #2 is not tricky at all. If you haven't sold it yet, it's not taxable and the IRS doesnt care. When you sell it is.

Now if you traded your BTC for LTC as an example, then you had a sale when you sold your BTC and a new purchase price (cost basis) for your now purchased LTC, which is taxable in the same way as described above upon its sale as a capital gain or loss.

I hope this helps.  I track all of my purchases on a simple Excel spreadsheet.
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Australian coinjar.com to charge 10% GST on all AUD->Bitcoin sales on: October 14, 2014, 09:14:09 PM
It seems that alot of Aussies can't use Circle and some can.

If you can't, I am in the US and don't have a Circle acct but I do have Coinbase. I'd be glad to make some deals to save you the GST on the buy. My bank can accept AUD wires and I am working on an atty escrow if interested to keep it outside of LBC and I have an LBC acct as well.

feel free to email me if you are interested.

I am currently working on a mechanism to help out you Aussie LBC dealers.  I have access to Coinbase for my BTC since I am in the US and I can accept bank wires as well as use atty based escrow for trades.

I'm very active on the BIG on FB and have my own blog on peer to peer lending including in BTC so you should go check me out.

7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Introducing BitSimple. A simpler way to buy and sell bitcoins. on: July 19, 2014, 07:54:48 AM
Bitsimple Support, Every bank is going to do this to you anytime there is any suspected fraud of  asizable amount unless you implement all the same KYC/AML that big banks and brokerages do. Without those kinds of changes, you should expect this kind of thing to happen again.
8  Economy / Service Discussion / Lender/Investor Tools for Bitcoin p2p sites (BTCJam, BLC, Cryptostocks) on: June 22, 2014, 10:13:12 AM
hi all, I'm a p2p lending blogger/finance guy and I've been very excited to discover both debt and equity investments made p2p with sites like BTCJam, BitLendingClub and Cryptostocks.

When I was only doing fiat p2p lending, it was easy to track my loan performance since payments were monthly over a term of 3-5 years. Now, in a month, and especially with an early payment, I can redeploy my BTC into additional investments sometimes 2 or 3x in a month.

I'm currently tracking all of this in Excel (im a finance guy and not a programmer) but I see that there is a need for these tools for other investors too especially when determining interest earned, which investments are profitable, and how much in interest and dividends is taxable, especially for those of us in the US and other countries where interest is taxed.  This is definitely more than an amortization table, which I saw a few of on Github, but I'm not sure how much more.

what tools do you use or what would you like to see in a tool to help manage and organize your multiple investments?

I want to build a tool that is workable and useful for more than just myself so what would you want in a tool like this to help managing and analyze your investments?

thanks in advance.
