4  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling as a way out of Nigeria Harsh economic Situation on: October 01, 2024, 09:09:47 PM
Gambling and betting should not be a way to survive. Most people that are gambling and betting are losing more than they are winning. Nigerians has been gambling very much since many years ago. I can still remember how it was in 2012 or maybe some more years back when the country was still better. Nigerians like going to betting agents. If there is more money in the country, I do not think this will change. Those that are average or rich are using their device to go online and gamble instead.

Gambling and betting you make those two words exclusive from earth other I thought they were synonymous... people who gamble consistently lose more than they win...I used the word consistently because you might get lucky from few trials and decide not to go back to it, but if you are trapped in they repeated cycle of gambling, it doesn't matter what you win you Will definitely lose it as time goes on..The issue of gambling in Nigeria has become a major issue, this has become a vice gradually and it has made a lot of Nigerian youths useless
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: October 01, 2024, 08:53:46 PM
A few days ago, my house was being cleaned. Three people are cleaning the front and back yards of the house. One of them was playing slots and I saw him. Actually, I wanted to suggest he try sports betting because I often see the guy watching football matches and he does have knowledge about many teams. So I was wondering if I could introduce him to sports betting so he could use his ability to predict every game he knows about.

Besides that, I just feel that if he deposited $10 = IDR 150,000 into a gambling site just to play slots, he would probably suffer a complete loss. But if he can place bets on sports betting, there is a possibility of him winning some money on small bets. Wouldn't that be an advantage for him?

If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots. Yesterday, I just let it go but we still often meet at other activities.

There are people that love watching football matches but don't really bet on them because they are not into long term games they prefer games with instant rewards and you can only find such games on casinos and sport virtuals... people always stick to what is profitable for them, perhaps heal has made some wins from slot games...you are considering introducing him to sports betting, what makes you sure that he hasn't tried playing those games before? Some gamblers that are into casino games play them due to the fact that sports betting can be disappointing after all the energy you put in to predict games.

7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: basketball or football: Which sport is more profitable in relation to sports bet on: October 01, 2024, 03:42:20 PM
The ideal would be for each player to bet on what he has the most affinity for and identifies with the most, i.e I really like football, so the tendency would be to bet on football, however I have heard from my work colleagues that in basketball, like the moves are very fast, the court is small in relation to the field, players can bet on these moves to obtain advantages over bets based on guesses. Do you agree with this friend of mine?

He said that basketball is more profitable than football because of this.

Every now and then I make some football bets, betting on my club that I support for now.

However, I don't watch basketball and I don't know the basic rules of this sport, despite it being fun.

Everyone has their preference and what works for them I wouldn't really say that one of them is more profitable than the other but I can say that soccer is the most played sports bet, the reason why is because football is a sport that a lot of people connect with more than any other sport...on the weekends millions of people bet on different football games, the population of those betting on football is more than those betting on basketball or any other sports, so this gives you the answer you need, people wouldn't be rushing into it if it isn't profitable
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Few observations about luck-based games in comparison to skill-based games (2). on: October 01, 2024, 03:36:11 PM
There is a chance that the nature of the game has something to do with the gender that plays in that game most. There is no official study for this yet, but I am thinking that we will find more females playing and drawn to luck-based games than skill-based games because of how difficult the process of learning skill-based games may be.

Another observation about luck-based games that a new gambler with an interest in them has to know is that they have the potential to make you, as a gambler, spend more money gambling than skill-based games.

What do you think?

You are kind of right on this but not females I would say most females are drawn to lukc based games.. naturally women are not patient enough to learn whatever takes them a long period of time and if we are talking about sports betting in particular it's not something most women can sit down to analyze.. even the female punters on different social media platforms don't analyze their games what they do is that they pick random selections from different sites and just do a little editing...luck based games will definitely make you spend more in the long run, skilled based games would help mitigate losses
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: October 01, 2024, 02:24:52 PM
Just as we have expressed our concerns about certain gambling advertisements serving as potential triggers, I have observed and I think that there are gambling proverbs or quotes can also play a role in influencing individuals. Look at this Chinese proverb, "If you don’t gamble, you won’t know how lucky you are." From this proverb, it can spur a regular person to explore gambling as a means to test their luck and become hooked. Also, the person who has been gambling will want to continue gambling while being hopeful that someday they would eventually be lucky and hit the jackpot.

What other proverbs or sayings could potentially act as triggers, enticing individuals to initiate or perpetuate their gambling activities?

A very common thing gamblers always say is " many gamblers give up before winning" this statement propels them to continue gambling and chasing their losses... Gambling consistently doesn't mean that there's a guaranteed win around the corner waiting for you. The proverb you made mention of is something I hear gamblers say everytime and this one of the motivations that fuels that gambling addiction.. sometimes luck doesn't have to be pushed it's something that just happens on it's own, so don't be moved by proverbs and quotes that might push you to make wrong decisions
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: September 30, 2024, 04:09:42 PM
Some mistakes will always be repeated by other gamblers even after they read about the mistakes that other gamblers have made. They will continue to repeat these mistakes, both beginner gamblers and gamblers who have often gambled, because these are the most common mistakes that gamblers often make. They really don't learn from their experiences or other people's experiences so they still make the same mistakes. We don't need to be surprised by this because these mistakes will always exist as long as gamblers cannot control themselves in gambling and do not manage their money spending. Greed will come to gamblers when they win, so the gamblers who win will increasingly want to chase bigger wins but won't always be able to win in the next round. Overconfidence will also come to gamblers who underestimate gambling or other things, causing them to lose.

A very relatable statement, some gamblers would always make the same mistakes over and over again, it's like an endless loop of repeated experiencess...even after reading about experiences from other gamblers that should at least make them readjust their mentality and change their lifestyle they would still make the same mistakes. It takes discipline for a gambler to quit because no matter how much he tries to resist greed will always creep in and he would be tempted to keep gambling more
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s your favorite market to bet on for football matches? on: September 30, 2024, 03:59:36 PM
Sports bet is a big opportunity in Gambling to score a speculative profit because for Sports bet, we can create a very good strategy to earn a profit from. Of course, as well it always needs luck for us to happen and to generate a profit.
It is a wide range of markets to bet on and we will have a possibility to make a personalized strategy for whatever market will be available, so our chances are pretty good to find a bet of value and to score a profit from sports bets.

1x2 bets

1x2 bets are generally very popular because it’s a very easy bet to bet on. We can bet on home teams, away team and a draw, where no team will win:
1 means home team will win
x means a draw will happen
2 means aways team will win

Over / Under / Asian Total

We can bet over or under number of scored goals. Over / Under is also very popular because betting how many goals are scored is always a good bet.
We can bet on whole goals or we can bet on splitted goals, it is called Asian Total and it’s also very popular because we might bet more precise on how much goals will be scored to generate at least a little profit, when our predicted total goals are close to what score has happened.

Corner kicks

Betting on corner kicks is also an available market but it is a bit riskier because corner kicks are just a side-product from when a ball is deflected and going out goal-side. Corner kicks are not generated by a team on purpose, it’s just a side product.
When a team concedes a goal and it’s resulting in one team is now forced to score a goal to equalize, it can be a good strategy to bet on corners from which team has now to attack, as it will result in more corner kicks for an attacking team, when shots on target are getting deflected.
So, betting on corner kicks can be indeed a strategy to score a profit from gambling.

Cards

Cards are also a popular market to bet on. We can bet on how many cards a football match will have, which team will collect most cards, and if a red card will be shown.
Especially, for very contested games and games, where very aggressive players are playing, it can happen to see many players get carded, where a referee really gets angry and he distributes so many cards. For such games, we can score a profit to bet on an cards over.
Or oppositely, in a very friendly game, cards can happen to be very absent and not much players will be carded, where an under bet on cards might be our selected bet.
It can be a good market for us if we have a very contested or very friendly game and we might be able to place a bet on many or only very few cards to be shown in a match.

Penalties

Penalties can happen any time a player gets fouled too close to his opponent’s goal. And we can bet on it, if a certain team is awarded a penalty or if it will score from a penalty.
A bet on a penalty is also considered risky because it does not happen very often to get a penalty.

Player to score a goal

We can also bet on a specific player to score a goal. It might be profitable, if a player is known to score at least one goal and we can make a profit to bet on him to score a goal.

More bets

I’m pretty sure for famous football games, we have even more markets available to score a profit from. If you know one, which is not in my list yet, feel free to share it here.

My favorite selection is the over market and I prefer to pick this over all other options Because I feel it's more easier to play out compared to other ones,  I have tried straight win, win or draw and so on but the over market has more chances of playing out but it all depends on the teams you picked... I like making my selections from the Germany league and I don't just pick random teams, I carefully select teams that have scored in their previous games, then after that I'll also check the statistical view of both teams and the over 1.5 percentage... This isn't a perfect strategy but it's going to reduce your losses
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The reason why Crash Games usually crash at lower values on: September 30, 2024, 03:42:57 PM
So yesterday a forum member asked me why do Crash Games usually crash at lower multiples (mostly lower than 2x)? Does that mean these games are not fair? Does that mean owner of the site manipulated the game so lower multipliers appear more often than the higher multipliers? I thought other forum members may have these doubts too so I decided to create this thread.

First of all, the algorithm for Crash Game is originally developed by RHavar for his well-known site: bustabit.com

Most of the sites having Crash as a game are using one or the other version of his algorithm. Basically, crash game is based on this mathematical formula:

CRASH MULTIPLIER = [(E*100 - H)/(E-H)]/100

E is the extreme value and refers to as limit. While H is a whole number which can be any number but smaller than E. So for example, if E is 10 then H can be any number between 0 and 9. Hence, range for H is 0 to (E-1).

Now let's calculate crash multiplier value for every possibility of H when E = 10.

PossibilitiesMultiplier
H=01
H=11.11
H=21.24
H=31.42
H=41.66
H=51.99
H=62.48
H=73.31
H=84.96
H=99.91

So what do we notice above? Among 10 possible values of H, multiplier value as calculated by the formula gave value lower than 2 for 6 events! We can practically ignore H=0 case because it won't be possible practically. Hence, in 5 out of 9 case, value is lower than 2x. This is nothing but probability. By the rule of probability, there is always 50% chance that multiplier value will be lower than 2x and 50% chance for more than 2x value. However, there is another catch, did you notice that H is subtracted from the numerator in the formula before dividing it with (E-H)? This subtraction gives House Edge to casino owner.

So, apart from this catch (which is fair since casino is running business), Crash Games are 100% fair and it's due to the law of probability that multiplier crashes below 2x almost 50% of the times.

After Bustabit v2, most of the crash games started using this formula to calculate multiplier:

CRASH MULTIPLIER = 0.99*E/(E-H)

This formula is almost similar to earlier formula. Only fixed House Edge of 1% is the difference. However, sites like Roobet are still using old formula.

Note: Casino owners can practically take any value as E and then range of [0,E-1] will become H. However, since provably fair results are based on hashes which represents value in binary, E has to have value in the multiple of 2 e.g. 22,23,24 and so on. But there is inherit limitation of Javascript that it cannot precisely show floating number beyond 64 bits so most of the site uses 252 as E and range of [0,252-1] for H. With recent introduction of BigInt, it is now possible to precisely represent numbers larger than 253-1 in Javascript. Let's see if any casino will use whole hash i.e. 256 bits number as H in future which will make E = 2256.

One thing you need to understand about crash games is that you cannot decipher the sequence no matter how hard you try, only the programmers or developers know how everything is arranged...As gamblers that are actively playing these crash games we can only say that from our experience the plane crashes at a lower value in most cases when it hits a high value and when it crashes at a low value in three to four rounds the chances of it getting to a high value would be around the corner but those are just speculations that might not even be accurate
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: September 30, 2024, 03:35:23 PM
That's the bad side of online gambling, you can't really control the users you get, even with the under 18 rule, teenagers can just lie and still get access to gambleing features, I think they have to get more strict and find better ways to keep teenagers off gambling sites, maybe by taking some birth certificate as part of their kyc verification, I think that would reduce the amount if teenagers in online casino.
Exactly, the internet now is too powerful, and even young people can navigate the internet well and can bypass a lot of things, and one of them is online gambling. It's true that many younger people are being exposed to gambling because right now the internet or social media are open to this, and we know a lot of young people are already on social media. No matter what guidance a parent will give, they can't look out for or guide their children's 24/7, so there's still a moment where a child could explore for itself and be in a bad influence.

That's why KYC is very important now for an online casino because in that way a platform could determine what age their customer is. I know it can also be bypassed, but I think there should be more adjustment or another layer of validation before a user could actually sign up and play on a gambling platform.

In my locality where I reside gambling among teenagers is normalized it makes me wonder how we have gotten so nonchalant about this, teens that are not up to 18 have access to gamble online and the ones that don't gamble in a land based center..The internet is accessible by everyone now, you cannot control or regulate what teenagers do with their phones...some of them are negatively influenced by gambling adverts they come across online, this fake adverts might make them want to give it a try just because they want to get rich quick.. just like you said kyc should be implemented by every betting site or casinos to reduce this catastrophe
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why don't you play free games? on: September 30, 2024, 03:27:19 PM
I often come across the phrase among users that they play for fun. But here it has also been mentioned many times that since most players in both gambling and betting lose, it is strange to say that losing can bring pleasure and entertainment. Indeed, what benefit do you get from losing? Of course, you can say that you can get adrenaline from losing, as well as experience. But let's think about whether each new loss really brings you an increase in experience? At some point, you will understand that your next loss is just a loss, it did not bring you any new experience. And instead of adrenaline, you will feel the desire to win back, which can lead you to new losses.
Based on this, isn't it easier for the Leavs to play free games? Losing in such games will not bring you trouble, and winning can make you happy.

There's absolutely no fun in losing a bet, even gamblers that play for entertainment occasionally have a little expectation of winning otherwise it would almost be The same thing as throwing your money out the window...But according to psychologists they found out that some addicted gamblers get to a point where they don't care about winning or losing, all they want to do is fullfil the desire of gambling and the only time they can stop is when they have no money left to gamble with, these psychologists actually call it a mental disorder...I haven't benefitted much from free games though but they are worth giving a try, besides you are not taking financial risks, it might fetch you some wins, you wouldn't know until you try
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any gamblers with top analytical skills from whom beginners can learn? on: September 29, 2024, 10:07:36 PM
Well, I was wondering if there is a list of pro gamblers with efficient analytical skills and realistic records in sports betting (NBA, Soccer, UFC...etc). This can be very useful, especially for beginners who want to play and at the same time maintain their responsible gambling strategies. You know, I'm not saying that we need to encourage people to gamble, but at least assist those who have already started and need help or inspiration.
Who inspires you in this field, and where can we find free resources to learn from them Huh

As a beginner you shouldn't really focus too much on predictions from experts but instead you should try to improve your ideas about gambling by keeping yourself constantly updated and informed. For your analytical skills to improve you must understand football or any sports activity you want to focus on, you must also familiarize yourself with the betting systems which includes odds and the terms involved.  Understanding all of these would make you a better gamblier, there are lots of experts you can learn from online but while you are learning make sure you are developing your strategies
16  Economy / Gambling / Re: Professional Crypto Gambling Advice on: September 29, 2024, 09:52:46 PM
You ever asked yourself why you are always loosing in casinos?
Are you searching for advice on how to get better in gambling?

Obviously, if you are gambling addicted and you want to stop, you should stop.
With gambling comes great risk.

However, if you still want to gamble I can help.
I'm in profit on almost any crypto casino.

This all sounds very controverse but in reality,
its a way to make chances work with you instead against you.

The strategy is to be patient, chase a lot of losses first and then start hunting numbers, its playing with the odds, not against the odds.

Appreciate loosing the same as winning. It sounds easy but its hard to accomplish.
I was in loss on any crypto casino, since I keep to my strategy I started to win it all back.

Its controversial because in the end, the house always wins and I know that, there is always risk involved and nobody should start gambling at all.

The problem with casinos is, they do not like you to work with the odds.
They want you to be greedy and want you to have no patience, thats why a lot of crypto casinos started to implement counter features to make you loose.

The best example is Luckybird, they implemented the following counter feature:

- Min bet raised to 0.05$ for multiplier over 900x

That means the lowest amount you can hunt for is 45$. Which is pretty high if you want to hunt some losses first.
You see, the issue that crypto casinos have is, people hunt high multipliers with low bet amounts and slowly raising - thus increasing their odds of winning.

There is still no guruantee of winning. Make sure to always remember that.

If you are a gambler and you loose a lot, take the advice from above and start to use the odds against the favour of the casino, not against you.

Make sure to always remember 2 rules:

1. Casinos take a fee on every single bet and will always win on the longrun.
2. Everytime you deposit, your money is basically lost. Don't try to hunt it back if you loose it. You accepted your fate when depositing in the first place.

If you have any question, let me know here in this thread.

I don't think there are ways to get better in gambling because it's a game of luck it's either you win or lose...a lot of people get addicted to the game and it becomes very difficult for them to just stop. One thing that makes people addicted is the constant trial of getting back what they have lost. Just like the point you made, any money you have deposited is basically lost, getting it back when it's actually going to get you in a more complex situation. Gambling comes with a lot of risks and you should be responsible enough for to handle any risk you are taking
17  Economy / Gambling / Re: My experience on live bet on: September 29, 2024, 09:44:29 PM

It was my first attempt at playing a live game. I wagered #1000 on a winning range of #7,000 on three live games out of a total of seven odd. I started to question why this sport bet robot was acting that way after two of the three games had already been played, even if I eventually won the game. At that point, my cash out was #1,641.

Live games can be very risky I have had quite some bad experiences with it ...one reason why i don't like it is rapid change in odds, once the outcome of the game is no longer going in your direction the odds change drastically affecting the percentage of your cash out... it's not easy to play live games sometimes due to how complicated they can be , I have lost a very decent amount of money on some live games. Playing live games doesn't reduce the risks of gambling, It has it's own risks but just make sure that you gamble responsibly
18  Economy / Gambling / Re: Need some betting advice and help with sportbet.one account setting up on: September 29, 2024, 09:09:40 PM
I've recently created an account on Sportbet.one because I'm interested in placing bets on MLB games. I chose this platform due to its decentralized nature, but I'm completely new to both sports betting. I would really appreciate some guidance on how to get started.

Here are a few questions I have for starters:
- What do I need to do to get my account fully set up and ready for betting? Are there any specific steps I should follow?
- How do I track my bets and winnings? Are there any tools or features on Sportbet.one that can help with this?
- Once my account is funded, how do I place a bet on an MLB game? Are there any tips for beginners that I should keep in mind?

If you are a beginner I would advise you to use bookmakers instead of trying to navigate your way around casino sites on their own  because they might easy easy to use. To keep track of how much you are gambling with just check your bank application it's going to show you everything you need to know. One thing you should keep in mind is the fact that gambling has unexpected outcomes so as a beginner you shoul know that gambling is 50/50, don't be in a rush to play , take sometime to learn every terms, and everything you can you can possibly learn
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 29, 2024, 08:36:19 PM
In my opinion making cash from gambling is not a good option and the statistical probability that you will win every game at every casino is very low. I think winning or losing every game is completely in your head, so your individual tricks are not there. However, we all have some kind of luck so we should strive for what is possible for us.

Gambling is an easy way to make money and still the easiest way to lose it...Making money from gambling isn't a good option like you Said and my reason for saying this is because there's a very Chance of losing all that money you have won and even lose your own money too. It's not possible to have a win at every game you bet on that's why you must learn how to reduce your risks. Responsible gambling is none of the best way to mitigate losses . Gambling has a very high  level of luck involved, strategies don't always work
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They put an end to online gambling: what do you think it's going to happen? on: September 28, 2024, 06:13:48 PM
Earlier this morning I was going to work in a bus I over heard, some one complaining very badly that if the government tries to put an end to gambling. That many people will die in hungry with this our economy which nothing is working, no work for people food are at higher amount in their and some people are benefiting from gambling this days, that mostly him his benefiting from gambling.

That with $200 he can stake and win about $100000 daily something that you won't even struggle to get, they can't even pay someone at work monthly up to that amount. So if their is no more online gambling that means definitely there won't be no more gambling at all. So how will you cope in your country if eventually they put an end to online gambling?

Gamblers will always be gamblers whether there is a means to gamble online or not... before people started making use of the internet gambling was still in existence and it had the same effect that is has today..even if they eradicate online gambling it won't mitigate the addiction issue. People would still look for ways to gamble on land based centers and this might even be worse because when they run out money they would start staking their properties. This is not something that can happen but even if it does it wouldn't change anything
