1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]SINGULARITY(SING)Anon Dual algo Scrypt/x13 GPU/ASIC*Bittrex**NEW WALLET!!** on: July 08, 2014, 03:07:08 PM
Ya not sure what's going on. I haven't seen anything that would warrant people dumping this coin like this. In fact, the only thing that would cause a major dump like this and no volume on bittrex is if either the coin was fatally flawed in some way, or if the dev disappeared. I don't think either of those have happened. So what's happening? I'm wondering if the market's just simply becoming too saturated. A new coin comes out promising anon, or maybe even already has anon established. But that's all it's offering. The problem with that is that there are several other big players that are already far more established than any new anon coin, and they have proven dev teams and an infrastructure's being built. VRC, DRK, and XC come to mind. I don't think it's enough anymore to just be a new coin with anon. You have to be something more now. A previous poster said that if this coin had come out a few months ago it would be a success. That's absolutely right. Because a few months ago, this probably would've had the success of DRK because no other coins at the time were doing it. Even if this coin had come out a few weeks ago it would've been a huge success. That would've been before VRC, XC, and RAZR. Unfortunately, unless the devs of this coin can offer something new, I'm afraid they've been outdone, and have lost the race.

We have to agree even though as a team it does hurt, we have already upgraded the wallet once and planned to do another one soon. The current state of this project however, after such a short time appears we need to completely rework our thoughts and direction. We do appreciate those that supported us through the first week though, and we have paid every bounty we promised, even to a fault it would seem. We are currently holding large bags but this is the nature of crypto, we need to go back to the drawing board. As one member of the team I must say i'm still shocked, low coin count, hard to mine...dual algo with anon I really thought we had a great coin for everyone. Our apologies to everyone, even if we cannot control this market. We will keep everyone updated after discussing internally how best to move forward.

-The Singularity

edit: I have heard the community on irc wishes to do a community takeover after merely a week? If that is true then it is your decision to make and we will take an advisory role. We will not fight with the community over who controls a decentralized currency. We can add out input and just try to help instead.

Any devs care to step in and say something. Would be nice to see some reassurance.
We just released a wallet upgrade less than 24 hours ago and launched Singularity less than 4 days ago. If people in crypto need more activity from the devs than this then expect to be let down many times in life. We are here, no we cannot control the market, maybe we gave too many bounties out?? All that can be done for at least a week lies on the community.

Never run into this before trying to download wallet.

I have security pulled down.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks, looks like a great coin.

Please make sure you do not use 'incognito'/private mode and do not have any script blocking addons in your browser.
Download from Mega service includes extra encryption layer on the client side and performs the best in Google Chrome browser.

We have just squashed a bug causing high CPU usage by the wallet.
The code is now in GitHub - exchanges, pools, etc are advised to update.

Windows binary will follow shortly.

Whenever I close the new wallet, it gives me an error and windows closes it.

We attempted to put in a fix to close the wallet out completely stopping the Tor process in windows. In our tests it works. What version of windows was this on so we can look into it please.

If anyone has any questions feel free to post them here, yes this update was largely focused on miners and giving them greater incentive. Singularity will still be hard to mine and rare, there will just be a bit more to go around and every 2k blocks a bonus mega block.

ipoMiner has upgraded both Scrypt and X11 Singularity ports to the latest wallet version - upgrade went cleanly, nice work devs!

Awesome, great work, this will be very easy with quality Pool OPS on board!!

Hello everyone, it's hard to believe Singularity just launched a few days ago and already so much has been added and changed.
We are establishing an intelligent and active community with multiple media channels and ways to communicate.
I have already seen members of the community helping each other, and helping their own investment in Singularity by spreading
the word of our coin and all the advantages it has to offer.
We wanted everyone to have the advantages of anonymous so we went with the best (ToR anon). As well as dual algo's for both sides of the mining community.

This post is the official announcement of a major wallet upgrade, this is a HARD FORK, and we have set it up to easily be done over the course of a couple days.
This is a mandatory wallet upgrade and will be a huge improvement over our launch wallet in both bug fixes and features.
Please, please, please I cannot stress enough how important this is for pools, exchanges and everyone using the wallet to upgrade.
I will need our community's help spreading the wallet update on all media channels especially twitter to get the word out about this upgrade.
After block 1500 we will be officially on the new fork, then everything we have upgraded and implemented will begin to be in full effect.

We took everyone's input from miners, to investors, to our service providers. Now the part you all really care about, just what the heck did we change?Huh

Here is our new mandatory wallet upgrade changelog:

Changelog:
- DigiShield implementation from block 1500 to better handle diff retarget (hard fork)
- Reduced block time from 3.5 min to 3 min for DigiShield (after block 1500)
- Fixed compilation problem under Linux
- Introduced 'Megablocks' occuring every 2000 blocks, each Megablock is worth 1000 SING
- New icons / logo

Code is in github now, Windows wallet is here: https://mega.co.nz/#!XEV3TAba!V7-429_PdL01SDfJH8xucw-s1CZr_ADIgRzWkp5nRZg

Please switch to the new wallet. The easiest way to make this transition smooth is by deleting everything in your singularity folder EXCEPT your Wallet.dat file do not delete this in fact make a copy or 2 just in case. Then install and run the new Singularity wallet and let it sync up and that is it. It is this simple, in the future there will be other upgrades these should not require a hardfork and wont technically be mandatory, most will want to upgrade though as it adds more features.

Everyone please watch the thread for the next 10-25 minutes as we have a big announcement to make, we can however, give you a small visual hint regarding the magnitude of this announcement!!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]SINGULARITY(SING)Anonymous Dual algo Scrypt/x13 GPU/ASIC friendly *Bittrex* on: July 03, 2014, 06:19:46 PM

Hello everybody Smiley
I am happy to introduce Altdice to the Singularity community.
It's a provably fair dice game pretty much like Satoshi Dice.

http://sing.altdice.net

To place a bet, choose your favorite odds and send a transaction to the associated address, with an amount anywhere from min bet to the max bet.
A Lucky number between 0 and 65535 will be picked up for you, based on your bet transaction ID. (Provably fair, of course)
If your Lucky number is below the target number you bet on, then you win your bet amount * Prize Multiplier which is paid out directly to your wallet.
If you lose, you get 0.0001 SING back to your wallet.

The game requires 1 Singularity confirmation to process a bet. 98% expected payout. 2% edge house.
Come and multiply your SINGs ! You can win up to 530 SINGs per single bet !

Have a try :-)
Send any amount from 0.1 SING to 200 SING to SRahuw8rHN2bDg8SDVkcF5FezRMRXQYMrZ => This is the 85% chance of winning game address.
It pays out x1.153 your bet amount automatically to your wallet if you win.

I wish endless fun to players and the best of luck on http://sing.altdice.net Smiley

Feel free to send a PM or Contact Us on the website for any reason. Feedbacks are always welcome !

Thank you Yogg!

We have looked into several different sites for our community to use, Yogg's site has been around since 2013, this is a place you can actually trust to use. I hope everyone enjoys this new service for Singularity as it took quite a few hours to select one fitting for our coin. Just remember to have fun responsibly though  Grin

Hi guys

I want to tell you all that I am the new community manager.

Why ?

Because devs are to busy developing and can't be here every day answering a tone of questions.
I will be in contact with the devs all the time and try to answer all your questions.

You can ask me anything on IRC ( #singularitycoin ) or in the threat.

Bright future ahead of us to create great and lasting coin.

We just wanted to make sure everyone knows CryptoStufz is going to be legitimately handling community management. We will still be posting daily but we are trying to focus on testing of the next 2 wallet upgrades right now. The first one is looking better by the hour, the second one is acting like a spoiled child, so it needs serious debugging. Thank you to everyone who is stepping up and taking control over their mining/investment and doing their own push for SING, we see your work on twitter, irc, and social media.

We just checked the thread after a long day of business, thank you everyone for all your kind words, together we will make Singularity the very best in both currency and great people surrounding and supporting it. Your words have made us very proud to see our community blossoming into a great place for outsiders to join.  Smiley Smiley

This wallet never opens for me on Windows 8.1, it just crashes while loading each time, no idea what to do :/

Sometimes when you close out the Windows wallet, it doesn't completely close out so that the next time
you go to open it, you get an error. Go to your task manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE) and look under Background
Processes. You'll see the Singularity wallet there. Highlight it and click the END button then close out the
task manager. Now you should be able to run the wallet no problem.

Thanks for the help, but what happens with this one is it just never seems to get past loading the wallet - it doesn't give me any error. I just double checked my Task Manage to ensure it's not running for whatever reason, and it's not, so with nothing running, I go to open it, the logo pops up, and it just seems to stay on the Verifying Wallet stage forever. Changing the compatability to Windows 7, and running it as Administrator don't seem to do anything either, so I'm not sure what to do here.

Edit: This makes no sense, but it seems that, for some reason Singularity's wallet conflicts with RazorCoin's wallet - I had Razor open all this time, I tried closing it, because I figured - why not, and then Singularity opened no problem. But obviously now Razor won't open, so I can't keep both open at the same time it seems, which is odd, this is the first time I've had any wallets conflicting with one another.

This is most likely because they both use the same tor protocols. We wanted the best, without anon none of these issues existed, but windows doesn't like closing out tor .

Hey guys!

We have just added SINGULARITY to Cryptonator so now you can use all its free features

Should you own an iPhone or an Android device, we also have all these in our free mobile apps for iOS / Android

Cheers

Love this site! Thank you for adding us, will add you to the OP soon

We are still looking for a casino for Singularity, bounty is on the OP please post here what you can offer our community for review.

share some information about other incoming features.

We are working on integrating an irc type chatting service for the wallet, and some quality of life improvements. The wallet hanging bug that plagues the anonymous tor based windows wallets is on our list of fixes as well. We also want to work in some visual improvements to the standard wallet QT. We have contacted more exchanges as well and so far we have some possibilities.

There is a few surprises coming but they will require a hardfork on the wallet, we promise to give everyone time to do the mandatory upgrade first though, including all pools and exchanges as well. I know miners need to recoup electrical costs but right now at 80k satoshi most of us are mining at a loss. Help us get the word out about Singularity and the benefits that it already has and we can easily get the price up to a level everyone is happy with. Advertise and bring more people in, this benefits everyone to build our community! Smiley

-The Singularity

One other thing, if anyone has any features they would like to see we will try anything as long as it doesn't break our current features. I personally want to tweak our difficulty adjustment rate as well so this could come in the next upgrade. Share your thoughts we have some very intelligent and creative people in this thread and in our irc.

so wait is the premise worth over 30btc right now?... kinda feels sketchy  , dev would you post what your plans are for the premine or whats it been being used for?

The premine is being used for development and bounties as per our op and as we have stated since launch in the thread. We have paid over 24 people and they will easily vouch for us. Thousands in bounties have been paid with more to come. Have no fear, the way it's looking right now each of our four man team will not be getting any hookers and blow any time soon without some serious mining Smiley

Just posted a new article about Singularity:

http://bitcoinmafia.com/bittys-blog/singularitys-anonymous-dual-algorithm-sing/

Let me know what you think!

Cheers,

Cynthia

Great article Cynthia, top notch! Added to OP.
