1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: June 30, 2018, 11:59:04 AM

Doesn't matter because the BTX project and coin is dead.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: June 07, 2018, 08:15:56 AM
I really liked the ideas and philosophy behind Bitcore.  However, the execution is deeply flawed.

The BTC dev team have close to zero merketing skills. They also seem to suffer from lack of self-awareness of their weaknesses. Just because you are good at one thing (here: developing a great crypto coin) does not mean you are good at everything.  Leave the marketing to people who know how to do it.

  • Sorry Ivo, but the team need a front person who is able to communicate eloquently in English and get the key message across without sending the audience to sleep
  • Cooperation with emerging ATM vendors, such as Trilliant, rather than a homebrew approach
  • Getting listed at major exchanges - if that requires a fee, do a fundraise or sell some of the BTX in developers hands
  • Create professional promotional materials, videos, collateral - sorry but a low quality video of a few geeks standing around an ATM speaking in broken English just does not cut it
  • Launch a website for easy conversion of BTX to/from local fiat
  • Promote BTX to the overseas worker community (Filipinos, Mexicans, Indians, etc.) as a means to easily and cheaply remit funds bck home

These are just a few suggestions.

Yep. After this post they contacted me by PM and told me when have more details will PM me with costs, etc.

Translation:  They have done nothing

I'm very happy about BTX ATMs being on the roadmap. However: which strategy will be used to distribute the ATMs once they will be ready? Who will be supposed to host a BTX ATM and how are you planning to convince them?

If you think this bunch of hapeless amateurs can pull off rolling crypto ATMs, then you are sadly mistaken.  First of all, crypto ATMs to convert cash into crypto are POINTLESS.  It is easy to buy crypto online.  The real use case is ATMs to convert crypto into cash, when you are out and about and you need cash. This crypto ATMs space (crypto to cash) will soon be dominated by major players with Money Handling Licenses.  The bunch of amateurs that is the BTX team stand no chance.  Sorry to say this, but I just wish they could pull their fingers out an look for collaboration with major crypto ATM businesses.

I liked the BTX project and I had great hopes for it.  However, the delevoper and leadership team behind it have turned out to be utterly useless and unprofessional.

A low quality video standing around an ATM speaking in broken English is all they have managed to produce.

No listing on any meaningful exchanges.

It's a tradegy. A great project ruined by hapeless people

I suggest you contact Trilliant (trilliant.io) to get on their ATM platform - but you are probbaly too busy attending eetups talking to yourself.

Remote markets withdraws are now closed.

If you forgot withdraw it, or you have withdraw failed, let me know on support@alcurex.info with subject "remote market coins".
We will collect all late time requests and process it as soon as we can.

halibit

"If you forgot to withdraw it",  Halibit, are you blaming your customers?  You closed all remote markets without any notice. I never received any email telling me to withdraw my coins.

This is really strange.  I send you a support request and I really hope I will get my coins.

No you assume it's dead but have no idea what's going on and frankly I don't see why anyone would share any news with you?
Your coins are stuck in cryptopia (I'm sorry they are and you couldn't liquidate) but we all know if you don't own the private keys you don't own the coins.
MOVE ON and i'll PM you if anything happens with cryptopia.

Oh, I know what's going on:

  • Prypto will "shortly" be releasing its services (after having failed to sell any service previously)
  • Casinocoin was taken over by a "new" team (read: the same losers who failed to produce anything at Prypto)
  • At some point in the next few months, said new team will make an announcement, consisting of the announcement of future announcements
  • This will be followed by further announcements of future events, none of which will ever actually happen

In the world of Prypto, "news" consists of aspirations, dreams and ideas.  I have no doubt that these are plentiful. As they say, ideas are a dime a dozen. Sadly the same cannot be said of CSC, as 12 of them are not even worth a dime.

@barbeq You said You still have 70K coins - both exchanges have buyers for this amount at 400sat, please sell and MOVE ON from CSC.

1 bid on Alcourex for 88 sat and Novaexchange for around 100 sat,

CSC is dead.

I believe that exciting times will come ahead for CSC from now and beyond. The increased mining activity shows huge interest from miners into the coin, making possible to see a price rise in the future.

It never ceases to amaze me what delusions people get themselves into. I have seen this many times in absolutely hopeless investments that were dying, and even when the company went into bankruptcy, people on message boards would post that a white knight will emerge and make an offer for the shares.

"huge interest from miners"? Seriously?  Which sane person would mine CSC when there is practically no market to sell it? Miners' business is to mine and then immediately sell the mined coins.  The CSC developers made mining CSC all but pointless by reducing the reward to 1 coin per bock.  Not surprisingly, genuine mining activity reduced, which made the recent 51% attack possible.  The recent uptick in hash rate is likely due to the so called "new CSC team" (just the same people as before) putting some hashing power into the network to keep it running and to make another 51% attack a bit more difficult.  There is no outside interest in CSC. None!

Please look at the facts: CSC is ranked 317 in coinmarketcap. It is suspended on Cryptopia, it has suffered a 51% attack recently. It has abysmal trading volume. It is dead.

Right now, the value for each CSC is extremely cheap so it may prove to become attractive for new investors and traders, eventually resulting in a massive price increase the more demand it gets.

On what basis?  In the past 7 months, we have just seen the biggest market bubble in cryptos, with BTC rising 5-fold, ETH rising 1000s of % and dozens of other cryptos rising exponentially.  In this market climate, CSC managed to do absolutely nothing.  Cryptos are now in consolidation mode and if the 2000 dot.com bubble is anything to go by, most minor cryptos will die and a handful of major players will emerge as winners.

In addition to this, if the CSC team decides to make a swap for a new Casinocoin 2.0 powered by Ethereum smart contracts, it will become a major boost for the cryptocurrency in terms of popularity, usage, and awareness. Besides, if this becomes a reality, CSC would have the same security of the Ethereum network, while at the same time providing never before seen features that will increase its demand in the long term.

Why would the "CSC team" decide to make a swap?  Why do you even need an existing crypto with no value and no recognition to do smart contracts for gambling on ETH?  Just go ahead and do it.

Besides, the "CSC team" managed to make absolutely nothing out of CSC when they had the opportunity of a lifetime in the form of the recent crypto hype and before ETH became popular.  With ETH, there is no longer a need for special purpose coins, as ETH provides the platform to do anything with smart contracts.  The suggestions to "swap" or "merge" CSC with the ETH platform show just that, that CSC is obsolete.

Imagine being able to play any type of gambling game in a decentralized fashion with Ethereum smart contracts, using the CSC token.

Great idea Sherlock, it's already being done: https://medium.com/@dao.casino/why-dao-casino-is-ethereum-for-gambling-7ed2f5cea40c

As I said, one does not need CSC to do ETH based gambling.

What I do not understand is: Even if the 51% attack had been fully successful, how did the attackers think they will be able to liquidate 9.7m CSC?  Surely, their objective must have been to illicitly gain the CSC and then sell them for BTC and walk away with the BTC.  Given the historic market depth, that seems nigh on impossible without crashing the price to zero.

So, something is fishy here.  Why would an attacker go to such lengths only to end up, even in the best case scenario, with 9.7m CSC that are practically unsalable?

Unless of course the attackers were insiders and had other motives, such as taking over a large part of the coin supply.

As I said, CSC is a joke, and now the clowns from Prypto, who achieved exactly zero, zilch, nada, nix, rien, nothing, in 2 years, are in control of the coin and probably the network also.

Cryptopia detected malicious transactions regarding casinocoin. As a security measure they paused trading. Both cryptopia as we are looking into the issue. Please do not draw any conclusions until we actually know what is going on.

What a joke CSC has become.  I told you months ago that this coin is dead.  The "new" team are apparently just the same clowns behind Prypto and DWS.

New Casinocoin team and new website, That is great for casinocoin holders!

Casinocoin is an open source, peer-to-peer, cryptocurrency specifically designed for the regulated online casino gaming industry. Casinocoin has world class speed, and built in wallet tools that facilitate transparency and open transactions. In mid-2017, Casinocoin was taken over by a new team that is in the process of building features that are not only next generation in terms of utility for the gaming industry, but also features that will put Casinocoin on the cutting edge of all cryptocurrency. Stay tuned!

Folks, I told you months ago that CSC was dead, that Prypto was defunct and that its owner had moved on to other things.

Now a newbie poster claims that CSC is under new ownership.  The features praised by the post ("world class speed", "transparency and open transactions") are no different from most other coins.  Specific applications for gambling are already being developed for ETH.

CSC could have been successful and could have ridden the recent crypto bubble, but now it is too late

I sold my coins to the poster who offered 5 BTC for them a few posts above. The trade went through on Alcurex.  I was subsequently able to sell a further 100k on Cryptopia to some hopeful but misguided bidders.
Already made 20% gains after reinvesting them in Factom and ETH.
You can waste your time waiting for anything to happen in CSC (hint: never) or make money in the ongoing race for which coin will become the next BTC.

Man you moved onto bigger bubbles, I see massive pain for ETH holders, FCT is not even a block chain.

Hey, how is that "massive pain" for ETH holders coming long?

As for Factom, which according to you is not even a blockchain, hmm check the latest charts.  I see FCT entering the top 10 soon.

Barbeq,
I'm curious ... the way you talk, at more than 1 year, that you have little faith in the CasinoCoin.... So my question is: why did not you sell it earlier, when CSC was worth higher? You still had hopes?

I ask this out of curiosity, even because I think you still have another million CSC, at least ... Smiley

I believed that the Prypto payment system, especially with its added value elements of KYC, could make a real difference and drive real world adoption of CSC.  The point when I realised that Prypto was NEVER going to happen was when their website went down for several weeks.  In hindsight, I should have sold earlier. It was already clear in Dec 2016 that Prypto was not able to sell its solution.

I do have approx 70,000 coins left, which I offered for sale at a higher price level. In hindsight, I should have sold those too for 500 sat.

It is my belief that CSC is dead, along with the majority of the other 1,000 or so cryptocurrencies.   There will be a shake down over the next couple of years and about 5-10 will emerge, with the top candidates being BTC, ETH, XMR and Factom.

I would like to approach them but I'm just a nobody. Most exchanges and Casinos would only take you more seriously if someone from the dev team approaches them.
When people gamble and loose the CSC, they will buy more to keep on playing. This would keep the demand up.

It doesn't make any difference who you are, it's what you have to offer.

Just remember, Prypto tried to get CSC to casinos with value adds and it still failed.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] ♠ CasinoCoin v3.0 ♥ 3.8+ Yrs Old ♦ NEW Mandatory Update ♣ on: June 04, 2017, 10:53:29 PM
I still think it doesn't hurt to try out and approach some new altcoin casinos as they always need new players. We need atleast somewhere for casinocoin holders to spend their coins so we have a use for it.

What are you waiting for? How many casinos have you already approached.

Although the notion of "having a place where to spend their coins", doesn't quite work, as I already pointed out.  The CSC would gradually flow into the casinos' hands due to the house advantage and then they would be stuck there, as there is no liquid market for them.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] ♠ CasinoCoin v3.0 ♥ 3.8+ Yrs Old ♦ NEW Mandatory Update ♣ on: June 03, 2017, 11:59:49 AM
As far as I know, most casinos want more players. They pay millions to their affiliates who refer new players to them every year. Most Casino coin holders are also gamblers themselves who also have BTC and dollars like myself. So the scenario would be like going to a Vegas Casino and ask them if its OK for you to bring a thousand or more of your friends to play at their casino. Not only that, you would also pay them a small sum as a bonus. Its a win win for the casino.

That would work if there was already a good adoption of CSC and a broad user base poised to gamble with their CSC.  But the CSC holdings are very concentrated and mostly hoardedheld by people with no intention of gambling large amounts; most CSC holders plan to sell their coins one day for BTC and make a profit.

How many players would a casino gain by adopting CSC? Not many I suspect.  And what would the casino want to do with the CSC it gains?  (given the house advantage, the CSC gambled in the casino would gradually end up in the casino's hands).  The casino would have to sell the excess CSC in the market for BTC, thus drepressing the price more.  Adoption by a casino would not generate any new CSC buyers, because players holding BTC can just deposit their BTC directly into the casino.

There is no reason or incentive for casinos to adopt CSC unless there is some value add offered.  A "bounty" of 100k coins is not going to make the slightest difference for a casino.

Look, Prypto tried to get CSC adopted by casinos by offering value added items such as KYC etc.  It failed.

Now, since you all accuse me of not being constructive, here is an idea how to drive CSC adoption and perhaps its market price:  Open up an online crypto currency casino and then accept CSC alongside other major cryptos but offer special advantages for players who deposit and play with CSC, such as better odds, special jackpots etc.  If the casino can get enough traction and attract enough interest, it would drive players to CSC adoption (so that they can get the CSC exclusive casino benefits), and this would likely drive the CSC price up as new players start buying CSC.   I looked into this possibility about 1 year ago, but I found that a properly licensed crypto casino would cost approx $50-75k to set up plus $1000s in recurring monthly charges, and it is very very hard to drive traffic to new online gambling sites. The risk/reward scenario did not look good, so I was not prepared to make such an investment.

Another option would be to persuade an established online casino to do the above (offer special CSC incentives) and pay the casino to do so.  They might likely want hard cash rather than what seems to them worthless CSC, but you never know.  Perhaps if some of the CSC multimillionaires (including the Prypto backers) offered a few million CSC to a casino as underwriting for any special jackpot etc. plus covering the implementation costs (in hard cash) of adding CSC as a payment method.

First of all, one of you needs to get off their arse and actually talk to casinos and invest hard cash, rather than posting on a message board that someone else should.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] ♠ CasinoCoin v3.0 ♥ 3.8+ Yrs Old ♦ NEW Mandatory Update ♣ on: June 02, 2017, 09:07:47 AM
Hey guys. Can we approach some  bitcoin/altcoin casino and ask them to add casinocoin to their gambling sites. We can give them a bounty of say 1-200k coins. I am willing to donate 100k if this is a option.

Hahahahaha, after 2 years you guys suddenly wake up to the idea of adoption of CSC by, duh, online casinos?  No shit Sherlock.

Why would an online casino spend >$10k in development and implementation cost to accommodate an obscure unknown coin which is traded on only two minor exchanges with daily volumes in the $100s?

Perhaps 2-3 years ago, there might have been some case for CSC as an alterative to BTC for online gambling, but now that we have ETH and other major altcoins, there is no reason whatsoever for any casino to adopt CSC.

What you are proposing would translate in the real world to walking into a Vegas casino and telling the management:  "Hey in addition to cash you should also accept our obscure and unknown tokens as a form of payment.  Oh yes you will have to build a second payment infrastructure to deal with these magic tokens. No there is no real benefit for you, sorry. But it's great man."
