1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Data Sheet for BM1397AG? on: January 13, 2022, 07:07:16 PM
<snip>
The different modes are passing data left to right, or right to left. There's a Mode pin which gets tied low for one mode, and left floating for the other. This makes serial power and data in a single copper layer pretty simple to achieve.

The different modes being significant how? do you know?

Thanks.

The last chip I saw a datasheet for was the BM1385 from the S7. Everything after that we had to work off repair guides and reverse-engineer the rest.

On that note, do you or anyone know what the different modes are and how to set the ASIC in a particular mode?

I'm trying to put together a full schematic and usable (i.e. written in clear, technical English) and intend to share my work. Started with an S17e board that I have knocking about.

Thanks in advance.

OK .. so .. further to my posting earlier, it is with great sadness that I now report that I've been had: capacity has ceased producing any revenue very abruptly.

I have emailed their support asking the question as to why and bluntly telling them they are a scam.  I don't expect to get anywhere, but still, will update this thread for the benefit of others if/when I get any form of reply.

So bottom line: looks like everyone's worst fears are confirmed in my misfortune: these bastards are scammers.

They sell these pieces of shit like hotcakes, at the price they want to,

This is exactly the problem, demand far outstrips supply so they can get away with anything they want to and still have full order books. It has been this way since ASICs first came out and all the manufacturers have been the same. Until there is more competition in the ASIC miner market things are very unlikely to change.

I completely agree and add: there is no transparency whatsoever - it's a swamp and voodoo rules.

Personally, I have the skills and contacts to do something about it as both individuals and company, but funding anything in this space has always been a challenge.  The likes of Butterfly Labs have completely destroyed the credibility of ASIC and mining equipment development that investors are completely averse, so the cowboys like Bitmain now have a free ride.

This may very well change for myself and colleagues - provided we can get an existing ASIC vendor to bite on our proposal for a miner development, we intend releasing a machine at least 3x more powerful and dense as anything out there and that's our Phase 1.  Phase 2, which is kicked off simultaneously, is the discussion with two FABs to tape out ASICs for us, and that's the bit which is going to need the heavy money, hence going into the miner market on someone else's ASIC is the only viable strategy I could see, given the lack of investment and given that I do not subscribe and will not, as a matter of principle, enter into the scam that is pre-order taking.

That's what I'm trying to do about it in a tiny way.  I think more people should also try to change this miserable status quo.

Phew .. just wanted to blow off some steam.

OK .. so here goes;

I bought 8TH for $1,630.  I must say, I could not confirm any of the reports about slow updates ...etc.  My contract was started immediately the BTC funds hit their wallet address and it got mining.

Not accumulated enough to withdraw anything yet, but end of month I will, so then is the proof of the pudding - I'd have either lost the entire stock, or have at least recovered some of the payment at the end of the month - going to be a painful 3 - 4 months to break even.

All in all, I'm not investing anymore for a few reasons: firstly, I can see no proof of hardware; second, packages are extremely restrictive and BTC is the only payment method; third, there is no reporting to speak of, and all the platform shows is a hashing power and earning curve; and last, but not least, is that I'm developing my own ASIC miner and own ASIC after that - call me old fashioned, but I want to hold the damn mining axes in my hand and feel the gold rush.

Will keep you posted as I get further into the contract.  I think it would be good to get to the core of the Sun[Mining] and draw a line on their legitimacy or otherwise.

Feels a scam, and probably is IMHO, but let's see what tomorrow brings.

Herein lies the problem: a) it was not a pre-order, but one for in-stock items and b) I have not received anything, at all, let alone a refund form.

Fumbling fuckwit, love that!!.  Still, he's picked the wrong man to mess with.

Much appreciate your feedback.

They are giving out refunds now. Just fill out the form you were mailed and send it back to them... Albeit Bitcoin at current exchange rate... He's not a con artist just a fumbling fuckwit. No excuse though. He is breaking the law. Be persistent

OK .. so here's what this Ken Slaughter con artist did to me: ordered 10 of Fast-Hash One Gold Rush boards when they advertised 30 to be available in stock.

Three weeks later today, there's the usual no response. E-mails, messages on the order trail, their voicemails, you name it. Zilch. All demanding a refund or the equipment.

The bastards are just a bunch of con artists, and I have to admit I've been conned.  Still .. I've been around the world and in business long enough to not let anyone get away with even a single ounce of my gold, let alone $8,722.00 in cash.

So here's what I'm doing: contacted the Missouri Attorney General's office, who advised that this is a C 7 felony in Missouri, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 7 years.

I've also contacted a law firm in Missouri to bring criminal proceedings against these crooks; I don't care if it ends up costing $100K - I will see these bastards behind bars or get my money, damages and interest in full.

If anyone's interested in joining and has credible evidence (I know I do), then PM me.
