1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TEX] Texas Coin - It's a Ninja Launch, Y'all! on: July 25, 2014, 05:26:24 AM
1.9% premine of 26,300,000 = 499,700

9,990 blocks at block reward 30 TEX = 299,700

The next 13,333 blocks at reward 15 TEX = ~ 200,000

The premine equates to 23,323 POW blocks which will take just over 16 days of mining to reach.

Use your heads people...

The vast majority of the premine will be used to recruit merchants.  This will greatly increase the value of the coin and lead to wider distribution.

Dev,

I reckon you live around here?  If not, you are aware you don't mess with Texas otherwise we will find you and shoot you right?  Smiley

Damn straight!  Let's just say that I remember the TV commercials with Jerry Jeff singing "Don't Mess With Texas."

created the conf and now the wallet wont even open, i get a runtime error

Try deleting the QT folder, plus the texascoin folder under Appdata.

Run the .exe again, then place the conf file in the texascoin folder under Appdata (you delete this earlier, but it will be recreated.)

If you still get the same error, please PM me and let me know which version of Windows you are running.

Thanks,
Big Tex

my wallet is unable to sync, no block source available
Yeah same here

Be sure to add the conf file from the OP.

If that doesn't work, send me a PM.

Thanks,
J.R.

I'm got 25 TEX each for the next 10 people to PM me with your TEX Coin address.

Don't post in the thread, just send a PM.  I'll edit this message when the offer's done, so if you are seeing this, it's still available!

High diff, small reward. This gonna mine for years. Stoped testing.

It's a rare coin, so a small reward in terms of numbers is expected.

But the value of those coins will be high.

Dev? Who has been finding the blocks? You? Pools are not?

I haven't had time to take a look at where the hash is coming from and who's finding blocks.

We are not mining at all right now, though will probably rent a rig or 2 soon.

DON'T MINE THIS SHIT - DEV HAVE ALREADY 499700 COINS FROM PREMINE, AFTER ONE WEEK IT WILL BE MINED ONLY 300000 COINS , LESS THEN DEV ALREADY HAVE, - PURE SCAM

The premine was explained in the OP.  The coins will be used for bounties for merchants.  We chose to do this -- which we can accomplish with a premine of less than 2% -- as opposed to the alternative that others use, which is 50% premine plus "air drop".
What kind of technique will be used for the "air drop"?

No air drop.  Evidence has shown that they don't work.

We are instead recruiting merchants, which we believe we can do at a far lower expense.  Thus we are able to have a 1.9% premine instead of the 50% premine common among other location-based coins.

You could've found the Windows wallet by following the github link. But there are no connections and no nodes.

link on github was removed.
