1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did/do you handled a gambling addict story. on: Today at 05:35:21 AM
Gambling addiction can be very terrible and frustrating that it affects both your financial and emotional wellbeing.  There are lots of gamblers out there in the open struggling with gambling addiction  wishing to share their pains with someone who could understand, but they don't actually know the right person(s) to confide in about the pains they bear as they fear that they will be judged, criticized and the rest.

This is a worst thing to ever be in a position to do because it's not what we are going to do with the enthusiast of being proud of, instead, we are going to remain helpless without nothing to avoid having the consequences if addicted from the initial stage, the best is never to get it in the first place, another thing is for every one of us to learn from others and not people learning from our own mistakes, we can make this changes right before it affects us, we should begin  to gamble with care and do it responsibly.

The first thing i suspect is if the quoted aspect was the only comment you made or there is more that is not included on the one you quoted, secondly, it might be that from what you said is what makes them reacted that way, knowing fully that governments are not even in support for bitcoin, so it's not a currency that government really accept for its adoption like, while some were already struggling hard to see that its banned.

4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: May 25, 2024, 07:02:14 PM
A greedy gambler will because of his greediness make a spoil of all he has made to turn to vain, you can discover a typical example of this from those who would have place bet and then later reconsider some decisions on the bet and influence changes because they were being told or they feels making such addition will incur more winning on their stake, but at the end of the match, they will then discover that the little changes made was the reason to the loss on that bet placed, so greediness can make us see the right thing and go for the wrong one.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: May 25, 2024, 06:16:28 PM
There is nothing one can do if we get so busy with other things that warrant us not having time to gamble, we stand a chance not to miss anything, because gambling will always be exciting and excruciating each time we are considering for it, though in other way, i don't expect us to be that busy to that extent more often that we don't even have spare time to engage on leisure time and uses such to gamble, even from the use of our mobile device, we can still achieve having little time for fun and if possible to gamble a lot, however, we are not expected to gamble in an irresponsible manner all because we are being addicted to doing it.
6  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: participating in the forum in order to be able to access campain in the future on: May 25, 2024, 05:03:26 PM
Do you guys think it is viable?
How many hours do people spend here a week to earn merits?
and than you receive only (max) $100 a week?

It is not about the amount of merits received, the campaign in consideration or the pay offered, if you're a member of this forum genuinely then you should understand that the major aim for the creation of this platform is to discuss about bitcoin, but if you're a quality poster and an active one, then you will be placed or opened to several opportunities that may come in along the way, but not compulsory, it's an opportunity to see around you because you have also acquired some certain level of being productive and able to deliver.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Can I participate in Bitcoin Pizza Day? on: May 25, 2024, 04:29:00 PM
I went to Metaboard and was reading many posts. After reading a few posts, I saw a post by the name of icopress about Bitcoin Pizza Day on Bitcointalk. I saw that whoever gets the best pizza will be paid $1,000, second and third place will get $500, and 4th&5th place will get $250. I found the topic very beautiful and saw many people participate. I haven't, despite being curious about it since I'm new. Can I participate here? Will the icopress brothers allow me to participate? Please, someone tell me.

Here, I am more excited that someone named Lazlo bought only two pizzas with a $10,000 payment. This is a surprising phenomenon. The price of BTC is skyrocketing now, but when the pizza was purchased, it was very cheap.

It's for everyone to participate in the contest as long as you're willing to do so, the additional information needed of you to observe is in taking your time to read the rules and guidelines from the OP on how one can participate, you can't do such with an alt and you should post as required with images showing your skills in making a bitcoin pizza by your own, not an internet downloaded one, if your application is lucky to be among the winners, then you may have to wait till you attain the rank stipulated for the reward to be given.
8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Heisenberg63 is lyer/scammer on: May 24, 2024, 04:36:25 PM
Additional Notes: I purchased $5000 worth of codes. He only sent $1000. I paid $3750, so according to our 75% deal, he have paid $750 ($1000 in codes). However, he still owes me $3000 in BTC or $4000 in codes. There have been numerous lies, excuses, and instances of being ignored. This situation closely resembles the one described here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5488511.0

Before you can make a decision in running a deal with someone, you must make sure that you understand that no one will stand in for you or be responsible for any outcome of what went between the two of you, which i expect that you must have already trusted the user and know well about his reputation before dealing with him.

Secondly, when i checked his profile, i saw he has two negative feedback already left on him, which i expect to be a first warning to anyone coming in contact with such to have an idea of what he is going into, any personal deal we make with anyone here is at our own risk, the forum does not moderate scam, except he goes against the rules and regulations.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: May 24, 2024, 04:16:25 PM
Some see financial loss as gambling with high risk, but no, i don't seem to agree on that, risk may be involved when we are making any financial investment and when we lose doesn't mean we cannot recover from the lost made, if we are to also considers the previous times we have been profitable in our finances, we will realized that losses on finances on investment made is not gambling or addiction consequence because we may not lose the money involved completely on investments as we can have it with gambling, if you bet and lose, the whole money is gone
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 24, 2024, 03:43:24 PM
In other to have a well-coordinated gambling experience, we need to have a certain restriction on gambling for the young ones starting from certain ages, also, as parents, we have our own obligations to contributes towards having our children under our guardian, we should not give them freedom in some certain aspect like gambling when they need to get knowledge about their education and other moral behavioral characters that could help them become whom they have desired to be in the future, because gambling requires one to have a source of income.

12  Other / Meta / Re: Some people that left this forum recently on: May 24, 2024, 01:41:35 PM
I read this topic Is this forum getting worse and worse?

During the mixers days on this forum, some good posters were visiting this forum daily and contributing good. Some of them are in mixers campaigns and they were collecting huge amount of money but which might still be small for them if they are living in a well developed country. Small or not small, it is still money that can help.

The question we all should still be asking ourself is on how well we are going to remain committed to the forum even without having signature campaigns to participate in, there is nothing bad in it when we already have a large number of people who truly depends on the signature campaigns for their survival because of poor economy and the likes, but also remember that it was something most of them have been used to before hearing bout bitcoin or this forum, but whichever way, we should know that life goes on and people will always come here and go no matter what.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Foolhardy bets. on: May 23, 2024, 07:50:37 PM
Internet is full of reassuring stories on big gambling wins like ten/hundred -thousand-dollar, or even more, while in most cases the gamblers are losing because they are either not the experts in on gambling they try or have not relevant skills and make foolhardy bets.

I'm sure everyone here involved into gambling has made such reckless bet  at least once in life.

Did such bet/s change  your gambling styles?

Have you become to be more eager in gambling or , on the contrary it has put a chill on you?

If we are going to be more focused on the way we see and have gambling appear on us, some certain expectations not being meant could actually be a disappointment on us and that alone could as well be a discouragement on us, we cannot always have it as we have wanted with gambling because its also a kind of dynamic leisure activities in which have to be more focused on pleasure, just as the way we also picture ourself spending money to achieve ang means to being entertained, therefore we must be eager and ready to embrace whatever outcome that we have in gambling.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 23, 2024, 03:37:49 PM
I will advise that we should not allow for the introduction of our unethical way of reasonings and behaviors come into how we gamble or affect the pattern and mentality we have towards gambling, we are expected to gamble responsibly, not only that, we should not force ourself to gamble when it's not the right time for us to do so, such could be when we don't have enough money to be used for gambling, there is no need to borrow, we should learn to work and earn and use from that for gambling purpose and we should not also disappoint others by engaging in fund mismanagement before we can use money for gambling, we should therefore distance ourself from anything decision that can cause a serious implication on us from how we gamble.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My model of an ideal investment portfolio on: May 23, 2024, 02:34:10 PM
In making an investment under the economist believes, they will tell you that there is money cost and opportunity cost, in every investment we are going to make, we must consider the two and see if they both work in line to serve an advantage over what we are having in consideration for an investment, some will also come with an idea of making diversifications upon every asset of investment we are planning for, all these were in place just to help us make effective decision and use of our investment opportunity on profitable assets, which we must know everything about how engage it.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: May 23, 2024, 01:51:13 PM
If you ask me, what is the hardest job? Then perhaps my answer will be the investment profession. It is a truly unique and harsh profession compared to other professions. Especially with Bitcoin and a volatile market like cryptocurrency.

It wasn't that bitcoin knowledge acquisition is that hard or being the hardest or toughest to acquire, but we have discovered that many who are into it could be probably doing it wrong or feeling lazy to learn and know what is involved in this decentralized digital and volatile network, at least we have birth in a lot of bitcoin users and professionals whom by the virtue of how they all started, they have no experience or idea on what bitcoin is, but later they give their self towards learning and got improved through insights required to help them through their adoption journey.

Restless and waiting are two opposite things, and are also what help us distinguish between a true Bitcoin investor and a gambler.

This makes it sounds as if we are to make comparison of a bitcoiner to a gambler, which are two entire different things, your adopting for bitcoin is because you wanted to invest and secure your asset and also earn over time from it, this will also gives you control over them, while gambling is not something close to that, you're giving fun while using your money to gamble, whereby you mostly lose with bets on gambling than when you invest.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 22, 2024, 10:26:14 PM
With the way of the use of internet to gamble and how the young teenagers now have access to use a platform and gamble, this freedom they have should serve as an opportunity and not for them to abuse such because being at teenage stage, they are not yet fully independent and must still be under a guardian, which means, they are limited to doing some certain things, many could kicked against teenage gambling because they believe that early exposure sometimes brings about addiction.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is boxing the worst sport to bet on? on: May 22, 2024, 09:58:58 PM
Recently I read that a year ago the Olympic committee cut its ties with the International boxing federation due to corruption and unfair referee placement.

Is the justification to their own reaction hundred percent genuine, we cannot predict the way people could react, I've noticed that once there is no concession between two parties in agreement, one will try to deviate from the other and state their own reason for that, but in this case, we all know how boxing game is, this live sport event is not what we can really make a conclusion on to be the worst bet in gambling, though there are some lapses in which sometimes could be unpredictable, same as we have also had with many other sports and bets in gambling, there cant be hundred percent fairness.
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Floyd Mayweather detained in Dubai due to gambling debts? on: May 22, 2024, 05:22:46 PM

It is said that the Saudis detained Floyd due to gambling debt. While we assume this country doesn't allow gambling, the report says that this casino is an invite-only for high rollers and that Floyd "Money" Mayweather is possibly in debt of $100M and he ain't going home until he settles the amount. I think he has already broken the record for the biggest gambling losses that celebrities have made. Mike Jordan and Tiger Woods's loss is nothing.

I don't know maybe some of these celebrities are doing this to make more fame or they are just making a display of their chronic gambling addictive nature, how on earth will someone have that kind of money to gamble with, when there are other interesting investment he could have use the money for and improve lives, there is no doubt that on the buzz of the news event over his debt circular and trends alone will yield him more money as income because everyone hearing about this will like to go online to read more further on how it all happened, am sure where he is now, he is not being scared for paying them back because of his capacity to do so, but this entire act is uncalled for.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bullish period and advantage. on: May 22, 2024, 02:38:26 PM
Some investors are generally interested in buying more BTC at DIP prices and tend to sell during bullish times. But holding is more important because it will happen again and again when ATH is observed in the market with gap of few months.

Everything about the market buy and sell is on a continuous process and we are also investing without affording to miss out on any earning opportunity alongside, each of the market season is when the people invest and set priority on what they want to do as well as how they are interested in going about it, all these happens because they are sure of making profits at the cause, after which they have invested and hold.

It can even discourage selling during market downturns. Many investment firms can build potential wealth by investing more during periods of BTC price appreciation.

Everyone trading or investing will be desperate about making profits, it all depends on the purpose for our investment, if we are going long or short, or maybe intended for making trades which some also understands the risk and requirements for doing that.
