This is just a cover-up for what really the owner of that crypto miners wants. I assume that it has some referral program where you get more earnings when you successfully invite more people to install it in their computers or their browsers. It's clear that they only want to have more users to show some advertisement and just put some title about mining bitcoin because it's more trending nowadays but in reality, there is no mining going on and the only small payments they will give you is revenue from those advertisements.

Thank you for your reply and insight. Yes its a waste of time.

You will be tracked and you might have to pass KYC to claim your rewards.

I don't believe in mining by browsers because backdoors can be set. If I want to mine something, I want to config it on my computer with trusted software.

Some browsers like Brave can give you reward but KYC is required. Do you trust them at start that team behind browser won't require KYC in future?

Thank you. No i just found the website i donīt know anything about it.

The site claims to be able to get BTC through the browser, I don't think it is possible, but other altcoins are possible. Now the difficulty of mining bitcoin is increasing, if you want to get BTC through the browser, then your computer It will definitely crash. The way to get BTC is to mining, or buy it in the secondary market.

Hi, yes i already read the replies and suggestions, is a kind of scam. Thank you.

The Cryptotab browser is something between a time scam and a referral ponzi scheme.
It's a time scam because you are wasting your time for peanuts. At least you aren't wasting any money, like in the really nasty scams.
It's a referral ponzi scheme, because you need more than 1000 active referrals in order to earn a decent amount of crypto.
Good luck with trying to gather more than 1000 active referrals with this.
If you want to earn money via your browser you could try Brave browser. With Brave you earn BAT tokens while browsing. You can make 3 dollars per month, but it depends of your location. This basically the same waste of time, but you might earn more than 1 dollar per month, instead of a few pennies with Cryptotab browser.

Hi, thank you for your reply and tips.

Yes of course, i didn't post the link because i didn't know if i could, i mean dunno about the forum terms Smiley. This is the link : https://cryptobrowser.site/
First of all, this browser has been in existence for about 2years if I could remember correctly but I am not familiar with the genuine site. Therefore, Google the browser name and provides 2 different sites which means one is a phishing site.
The bottom line is that this browser didn't worth it because they will make use of your internet network to mine while they pay you a penny for it or infect your computer.

Thank you, i didn't know, well i thought i discovered a cool thing and its a waste of time. Again thank you very much.

Maybe you need to list the address of that site. That would make it easier for us to see. With all the opinions of friends above I agree that the addition to the website is logically unreasonable. But if the site gives a gift with some coins like one of the promoted campaigns like freebit here it might be possible. They give away some satoshis every hour by visiting their web.
But other than that, some of the experiences I have encountered this kind of web have only increased traffic. In the end, the minning result is just a number that cannot be moved to your wallet or sold. Even if it's directly connected to your wallet maybe they're trying to steal it.

Thank you, Here's the link https://cryptobrowser.site/pt/ and has 21,100 visitors per month, so that's why i was wondering if is a scam or not.

<snip>
yep. along with another with the words cryoto and tab in the 'browser' name. Beware of anything even remotely sounding like them. Main thing is that too many folks forget is DYOR to understand what crypto mining is and not blindly adding a sparkly application with the allure of a 'Hot Thing' to their PC or other device. Kudos to you for asking before delving down the scamsite/idea wormhole.

Thank you very much for your answer and help. Smiley

Every time I think we've reached the point where users can learn about mining from the information that's abundantly available on the Internet, I'm surprised every time people ask about apps that they think perform the same job. Anyway, it's a good idea to ask before use.

I'm new to the world of bitcoin and i found a website that has 21,100 visitors per month. even with all the information as you say, it is natural that for those who still don't understand the subject start to think twice. And about everytime you think "we've reached the point where users can learn about mining from the information that's abundantly available" as you know we just have to google to understand about what happens between Russia and Ukraine, and yet thousands are supporting this war, we just have to google to understand men and women are equal and yet many men still think women are less smart, we just have to google to understand, black, white, yellow, red etc doesn't matter there is only one race that is human anything else is B****  and still the world is full of racists, we jut have to google to understand muslim religion, Catholic, etc etc, and yet people still kill in the name of religions, and so on ... as you can see almost any subject we can think weīve reached the point where ... but as you can see people donīt have the same understanding about the subjects, ppl are not even in the same level of knowledge in all subjects, and that's the reason iīm here to learn with people that know more than me.

Hi guys, I'm new to the world of bitcoin and i found an interesting website that is a browser with mining features and I would like to know if it's safe and if it actually works.
A website mining Bitcoin cant be legitimate, you should be very careful, and the fact that you are new to the world of Bitcoin even makes you more vulnerable to becoming a victim to scam and fraud, Any website or browser claiming to mine Bitcoin is a scam, do not fall for it, it is not legitimate.
To make things more clear, I would suggest you make the website browser in question known here, so that users who are more experienced than you will help you do some research and tell if actually the site or browser is legit or not.

Yes of course, i didn't post the link because i didn't know if i could, i mean dunno about the forum terms Smiley. This is the link : https://cryptobrowser.site/

Hi guys, I'm new to the world of bitcoin and i found an interesting website that is a browser with mining features and I would like to know if it's safe and if it actually works.

A website that's mining cannot mine bitcoin, since Bitcoin can be mined only with special hardware (which you most probably don't have).

So it may be mining altcoins and sell it for bitcoin, in the best case (I'll come back to this). If that happens, you'll be earning coins that worth some pennies, but your computer will consume electricity that'll cost much more than those pennies, so you lose money.

And I'm back to "it's mining altcoins, in the best case". Since it's very few pennies you'd be "earning" (that's if you ignore the electricity cost) like this, there are (at least) 2 directions for this kind of websites:
* if you're lucky, some will show a lot of advertising and will act like faucets, letting you withdraw .. pennies (after a big threshold is reached)
* if you're not too lucky (and this is what I expect to be the most widely spread case) the website will show some nice numbers there, may even steal all the information it can from your computer or at least browser, but you'll never be able to withdraw (and if you insist, you may be lied to deposit money there - under whatever reasons).

TL;DR: you better avoid that kind of websites.

Thank you very much for your reply. I didn't put the link here because I don't know if bitcointalk allows to post links.
