I should clarify that I've been pool mining. I was just curious about solo mining. Thanks for all the replies, though.

tukho, from what I've learned in the 36 hours since I stumbled across PHC I think the countdown is for the Jobs Platform. I imagine once it launches it will work like some of the freelance job boards around the internet except you'll be able to bid/accept/pay in PHC rather and fiat currencies. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

I have a question about mining. Is it only possible to pool mine? I'd like to try solo with one of my rigs but nothing I've done works. To be fair, I'm pretty new to all this and I could be overlooking something very obvious.

I've only tinkered with a few coins. I still spend most of my time learning about what's out there because I have a few designs for my own coin platforms. I'm not a dev, though, so I'm just trying to absorb everything I can.

Great idea. Uses BOINC in conjunction with PoW mining (they call it Proof of BOINC - PoB) to support grid computing power that contributes to scientific research.

The dev community is extremely active. Unfortunately, they're building a complicated beast and I personally don't feel it's 100% just yet. Very soon...but not yet.

I had an offline conversation with the creator of PopCoin (POP) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=444745.0. If you take a look and like what you see he seems to be a very motivated young man with a vision. I haven't mined it personally.

But as I said, I'm mostly here to learn and make some connections.
