1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Rockminer R-box not working on: October 16, 2014, 08:00:05 PM
Hi

I have 4 r-boxes running on windows 7 with cgminer and I have to power down briefly and since I have powered back up one miner isn't working.  It has power and the red light is on but cgminer doesn't see it.

I tried the miner on mine peon as well and it doesn't work.  Tested a new USB cable and it doesn't work.

Is there anything else I can do or is it a paper weight now?

thanks

Hi

My Miners stopped working this morning so I rebooted my mining controller (a raspberry pi which has 4 rock miner R Boxes connected).

Since then the details on slush pool are confusing.

The mining software is reporting the correct hash rate but slush isn't although it does reflect the fact that I am mining.  My Hash rate is showing as zero but my unconfirmed reward is going up.  Any ideas?

Just got two Rockminer Rboxes today and one won't work.  The fan comes on and the red light but won't mine.  I have swapped power supplies and usb cables and still nothing.  Tried it on a different PC with a different miner and still nothing.

Any suggestions from anyone.

Not much to go on I know and I suspect I will have to send back to eyeboot.  Cry
5  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: July 01, 2014, 09:48:57 PM
Hey guys new to minepeon. I am running 2 usb antminer u2 on minepeon and they seem to be hashing fine. I use cgminer to run them. I also have 2 dualminer usbs that I would like to run in scrypt mode. Now I know I cant do that from the gui but since minepeon is the gui on top of linux distro cant I run bfgminer through ssh in the back ground with the dualminer scrypts? If I can I need to update the bfgminer as 4.0+ supports the dual miner sticks. Can anyone tell me exactly how to update bfgminer to latest version and then run that through command line for the dual miner sticks?

Doe's minepeon work with the R-BOX?  Or is there a way to upgrade bfgminer to 4.2?

Ok guys. I JUST did this, so I'll post the commands I used (which I modified from the post @ http://minepeon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1151 specifically for the 4.2.0 release), so it's just Copy/Paste for you. BFG4.2.0 is running great for me, so this should get you through the process and on your way to Hashing Glory! (TM/Patent Pending).

Get Putty and SSH into your Peon. Once you're logged in, hit 0 to drop to shell and then run the following commands:
Code:
sudo su
wget http://luke.dashjr.org/programs/bitcoin/files/bfgminer/latest/bfgminer-4.2.0.txz
tar -xvf bfgminer-4.2.0.txz
cd bfgminer-4.2.0
./configure
make
mv /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer.old
cp bfgminer /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer
exit
sudo systemctl restart miner
After the miner restart, I went ahead and rebooted the RPi just to be sure all was well, but that's just me and my tinfoil hat, making sure all was well from a cold boot.

Happy as a clam!

I hope this helps you through the process. It wasn't hard. just be patient with your RPi as it builds the new version of BFGMiner. It's not a supercomputer, so it takes about 5 minutes or so to get through the config/make steps.

So I followed these instructions but my rock miner won't start.  What do you have in the settings page?

Does anyone have a link to the custom raspberry pi image as all the links on the eyeboot youtube channel are dead.

Just to report, after setting up multiminer last night and getting it working with my rockminer, I woke up this morning to find my rockminer no longer mining. When I checked multiminer it was still running and displaying stats for the miner as if it was still running although the values were not changing.  I stopped the software and clicked start again and the miner started back up.

Also just to expand on my point about antminer u2's and the rockminer.  If I do a scan with the rockminer plugged in it gets picked up.  If I do a scan with the rockminer and the antminers plugged in it only sees the antminers.  I cannot mine with both from multiminer, its one or the other.  Is there anything I can do to get multiminer to allow me to use both.  Does anyone have both a rockminer and antminers that can advise on their solution.

no idea which is the correct driver.  I have been at this so long now I'm v.confused.

winodws 8.1

I linked the correct driver for ya a couple  posts ago. I cannot for the life of me get MultiMiner to even run on m Win8.1 machine here  Huh

to get multi miner working on 8.1 I had to install .net 3.5 even though I am sure 8.1 already has .net 4 installed

Cheers, installed it and it now recognises the rock miner.   I was sure I had done that before.   Huh

Now if only I can get it to pick up my ant miner u2's as well.  It seems to do one or the other.

Does anyone have any detailed info on getting multi miner to work with a rock miner rbox?

I plug mine in and nothing happens.  I am running multi miner on windows.
